Iron Painter 2016; Round 3 - "Wyrd Science Submission" - ELIM “Trepidation of the Spheres" Technology may have exceeded his humanity yet his spirit must prevail! Note: One of my goals, in my first time entering Iron Painter, was to utilize a 3D printed object or model as part of the scenery/diorama/set for each round. This particular model, Apocalypse Teleporter Device, is available for download for free/non-commercial use if you are interested in printing one yourself: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1111770 It's an easy print with little or no support needed and jus

I'm assuming this is the correct forum for this question, so here goes. Lately I've taken to constructing dioramas to display my crews at tournaments. I'm still new to this of course, so there are many things I don't yet know. For instance, how to present the display neatly and tidily on the outside. When building mine, I tend to use black foam-core. This means I end up with horrible strips of visible foam along the edges that shows up no matter what I do to cover it. So, I was wondering, for those who do, how do you achieve the lovely solid black on your diorama's outside walls? For

This is a diorama I created. Last year, I got to talk to Jeff Grace (he's responsible for a lot of great minis from Dark Sword, Privateer Press, Reaper and others). We talked a little bit about how easy it would be to make some of his Dark Sword minis into Star Wars characters, and how cool it would be if someone made a diorama of a dueling Jedi and Sith and entered it into the painting competition. Naturally, I agreed that such a thing should happen. I'm not totally sure that he meant it as a challenge. I think sometimes people get surprised when I run away with an idea like this. But
