Extremely well done skin and ribs. The scar on his face is especially neat. -
Nice detailing on dress and hair. Might be the photo but the axe head and the skin looks a little bit flat. -
Lovely vest and nice pinstriping. Only thing that isn't top notch is the dark shirt. -

For the narrative aspect, this is absolutely brilliant. Top notch! Really well painted as well, but the presentation for me is a bit dark which makes it a bit tricky to see which goes where on a single model. -
Really nice gravel bases and refreshing to see the crew in white. It's a really hard colour to get right, but I think you've done it brilliantly. -
Nice and psycadelic bases. Like the blue on the nightgown. In general the dayglow could benefit from possibly a dark red wash to shade them a bit. -

Welcome to the game (if a bit in advance) I would say that with very few exceptions, you can pretty much go entirely on the looks of the models to pick your very first crew. It's all balanced enough that the starter boxes with perhaps 1-2 extra models will be a perfectly valid beginning.

I've personally run it as a completely separate thing where players vote on their favourite player(s) of the day and the winner gets a prize.
