  1. Wrong on both counts unfortunately. My Will allows you to spend one of Collodi's APs to have a puppet get an a single action (with a ). It also doesn't increase each time in any way, not sure how that conclusion was met.
  2. I will say Mei Feng is a pretty tough fight for Collodi since her crew can do pretty well against ranged threats and can tear through puppets pretty easily. I'm looking forward to trying a Props set up rather than Fated and see if that holds up more. I'm more interested in Belles getting a cuddle over stitched tbh. I may consider Stitched a slight crutch, but they are extremely slow on their own and this game is not a killing game in 9/10 cases, but a VP earning one... Otherwise my NB lists would be filled with nothing but Stitched if they could do everything that well.
  3. There's a reason you should be using terrain and LOS-blocking terrain/positioning to hide important things. It's good, but it's not an NPE to the point of being called broken (no countering) imo.
  4. I have never had Perdita not punch well over her weight as a Master in a game. I have simply never felt the need for another Guild Master past her.
  5. That's going to be the Neverborn wave 2 arsenal box then.
  6. This exact scenario is listed on the wiki as being utterly the most useless upgrade on a model in the game...
  7. I'll state if I play them or not, otherwise consider them owned and actively played when I declare a faction Guild - Perdita (One of my first M2E masters, I picked her up remembering how it felt to be beat by her in the first edition) Arcanist - Ramos, (Ramos was my first master ever, I'm coming back around to him now, just waiting to put more models together for effectiveness), Rasputina (Tons of fun, but fairly static list choices it seems like. On a winning streak with her and likely taking her to an upcoming tournament paired with Ramos), Collette (haven't played yet) Resser - Yan Blow (My first M2E master played, I dislike him and he is currently shelved due to performance issues), Seamus (new acquisition, but very old hat to playing against him and his tricks), Nicodem/Kirai (not yet played, recent auction windfalls) Outcasts - Hamelin (Shelved atm due to player performance issues. I'm revising some lists and tinkering to try bringing out the potential I see in him. Makes for longer games atm though which doesn't help.) Neverborn - Collodi, Lynch, Pandora (Collodi is by far my most-played NB master atm, but Lynch is quickly making himself known as I get more comfortable with him. Pandy is sadly one of my least played masters out of everyone just because her playstyle has dropped off somewhat for me.) Ten Thunders - Lynch/Yan Lo (I don't play either as Ten Thunders currently, Lynch may change after I get the next master...), Shen Long (unplayed, a Christmas gift I know is incoming that I'm excited to try but have not received yet.)
  8. I dunno, with Candy there's something to be said about having a nearly automatic answer for a quarter of the opponent's crew right from the beginning. Depending on her upgrades she can be almost as hard (if not moreso imo) hard to kill in Assassinate. The importance of handing out heals and controlling the opponent's crew activation in such a small format can't be ignored either.
  9. I'm quite glad I picked up the old box, even if I'm currently not very good with Hamelin. As far as I'm concerned he still has the best Avatar form/model around. Edit - I did want to say the new wretch looks far better.
  10. As for the picture go to your profile http://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/profile/34549-nick86/ Where your picture would be should be a little icon, click that and choose one of the options.
  11. I agree with this stance. I'm not going to let the opponent set the deck any more than I would ask him to let me set my deck the next round as I want (since I can infinitely shuffle sans ability before the round and if we're ignoring the time:odds ratio it could happen) after flashing the BJ. I kept the last little bit btw because I wanted say another thing about you backing down on measurements... One thing I picked up from Necromunda/GW, agree pre-game that in the case of measurements the other player will have the final say. Sounds bad but that social contract of a rule keeps both players pretty honest in my experience.
  12. Oh I didn't hire any, I just meant that it didn't seem to do much of anything for 8 ss models. I dunno, I halfway liked the swarm of rats simply to outactivate the enemy more than the king feebly slapping for a few points of damage.
  13. Got my first game in with my new Hamelin crew and I agree with the notes of it being longer/more tedious to keep up with. Also, I may have been entirely unlucky but the Rat kings do not seem to hit around the 8 ss effectiveness. I got much more use out of Sue and my Ronin that game than I did the rat catchers, kings, and (other than activation control) the rats. Best thing that came from the rat kings were the 0 to destroy a scheme marker really, past that whiff city. Nix was another pleasant surprise, he did very well and had most of the opposing crew frustrated, blighted, and engaged at a clutch moment. I only wish he could have had a push effect to have gotten away for a last minute scheme running. Edit: I won 9:8 vs Mei Feng, but I don't think if the game had gone on for even another round that my hailmary play would have held the edge.
  14. Other than summoners, no, I still probably wouldn't. You pack effective models into that price bracket and you enjoy a very nice activation advantage on top of wounds. As for killing potential, that heavily depends on the models. Multiple Illuminated, Thunder Archers, Coryphee, December acolytes, etc. would all provide different benefits at fairly close exchange rates with the added benefits I mentioned.
  15. I don't think there's a master out there I'd take for 25ss now. Really only the stronger summoners...
  16. It's not like other masters can't do more and arguably better. It was a knee-jerk reaction that limited his options slightly, just not enough to make it cripplingly so. If you're waiting to get the most out of the upgrade though (through meaningful amounts of damage) then you're not tossing cards that much throughout the turn.
  17. Just my humble opinion, but I'd pay more than that for another Collodi in my crew, even before upgrades.
  18. Still don't think his upgrade attack needed to be limited to 1/turn precisely because it made him less flexible and if you wanted to make it work you had to hoard cards... Past that I have to echo the others and say that maybe he's just not the master for you. P.S. Except for Beckoners, I'm convinced mine are the most random things. I'm not solid on their points cost but I do wish their CA actions would have gotten a little bump up for 7 damn points.
  19. I would say no, since the attacks are inherently a result of the action and it must be completed in the same total timing. Could be wrong though, this is just off the top of my head.
  20. Once wave three drops, Winged Plague(s) should be nice too. Walk 6 with flying for four points isn't shabby.
  21. Ronin are pretty strong there and, if they are allowed to kill themselves, pretty affordable on returns.
  22. One master getting denied has already been stated to not be a NPE in discussions in the past tbh by the game creators and designers themselves. Mainly because not every master will be the best choice against the scenarios laid out so counting one out was not considered a NPE. If you are taking sub-par choices in game, then there's tons of game theory and articles about that, but making a worse choice is not cause to complain afterwards. In your example, you're still stressing a hobbyist outlook vs. a competitive one. In your example (looking at it from a tourney-player outlook) you're winning your games if you're going that many rounds for double eliminations, your opponents are running on bad information, and if you were only capable of winning with Tara then your opponents suck since they took her out of the equation and you stand a good chance of winning the whole shebang. Now if you're running Swiss for the tournament, then I'd like to actually see hard data/scores and not emotion-driven theory since that swings either way.
  23. I answered it. Like, first post after I answered. :I
  24. Agreed, threads being locked serve no real purpose for discussion. If mods can't control it then lock, otherwise prune and leave open for future discussion. After all, things can change and new views/opinnions may be raised.
