  1. Mah is OK~ ish Quickest way to fix her now would be to look at her upgrades combine them into 1 card. Apron/diving charge/1ap charge could have all been on 1 card. If you think that s too many abilities on 1 card look at new Lylyth upgrade ( she gets 4 passive abilities on 1 card) This way Mah has now more options to take stilts/dirty cheater that would help her survive longer.
  2. I 100% agree about her upgrades not counting to her limit ( look at new Tara upgrade) Also all her gun upgrades should be cost of 0 so she can start with the equipped (instead of starting the game with young equipping them and looking clunky)
  3. At this point I would say we need 0ss upgrades for our henchies to buff their corresponding minions. This would allow us to play these minions ( I still would not but hey, fluffy players and what not) Trixie needs a 0ss upgrade that lets bushwackers focus for a 0 / free / or a card discard and something extra Sparks needs a 0ss/1ss upgrade that lets him summon survivors and give them something (regen 1 ?) McTavish needs a 0ss upgrade that buffs for wildboars/gators that gives them something Sammy needs a 0ss upgrade that buffs our stuffed pigs (because at 3ss each I will never hire them again) I would also love a 0ss upgrade for Mancha to have better interaction with wrestlers (a reason to take Mancha, the wrestlers are pretty good already) Maybe if he is engaged with a model that is also engaged with a wrestler he gets free Rams?
  4. Gremlins have internal balance issues, outside of few marginal players using very narrow lists and placing in top of tournaments, gremlins don't show up in casual play. The game mechanic problem that gremlins are a culprit to is we do not have many good models, people playing other factions look at our rules/models and after a hard deciding factor they chose to start another faction that is non-gremlin. Players that do pick up Gremlins and want to play "in theme" and for "funzies" quickly drop the faction as they found out they lose every single game to other "funzie" list ( I have that word, does not apply to Malifaux). I would say out of 30 people in Chicago-land area there is me and another henchmen that have been playing gremlins for couple years now. If neither of us play gremlins at local tourney, 0 gremlin presence. (This is very very bad) This goes back to, we need ore buffs for under performers to make them viable option as opposed to cuddling our good choices. At this point in time new players getting into gremlins are in line to get a "hat in the bag" treatment
  5. Try a list with 6 Tanuki in a scheme heavy pool, quite a lot of fun!
  6. If looking at something unique from starter sets, I would say either Trixie or Mancha would be highly sought after. I would personally love to see Alt Brew master because of all the new interesting models he is getting, and the current master sculpt is quite generic.

Honestly the first mate is fantastic if you run into a round where scheme markers are mandatory (meaning there is no schemes your opponent can pick that do not force them to drop markers at some point in time), these match ups are very rare, and including a 10ss model to just do that is hard to justify. Remember, when using Franc to blow up enemy models every turn or forcing enemy models to deal with Franc is counter scheming in its own regard. GG2018 might change this (unlikely)
  8. Bookshelf it. You are almost always better off using a single Iron Skeeter in its place.
  9. Would love a Gremlin/Arcanist master that would be a gremlin in a suit of armor ( Hannah-esque) One that does a lot of smashing and melee blasting that hands out burning, maybe a flame thrower? The key here would be for a front line master that buffs our constructs, allowing the use of survivors and porkchop. Maybe a way for him to transform bayous into survivors and piglets into mech-porkchops?
  10. The struggle that Ulix faces playing a pure melee centric force. This could have been mitigated before with 6 stuffed piglets allowing you to seize activation control turn 1 and 2 without having your sow or mayor shot off the table. Honestly, what Ulix is missing is a hybrid between Lenny/slophauler/whisperer that is a 50mm Pig in a single package. At this moment you suffer from too much support bloat 10-20 stones minimum that sits back and cheers.
  11. The funny thing is we got hit with the "no Rams for masters" But Guild still kept its Franc and Loco giving the mega buffs to their faction masters ( we all know it should not be given to non-Family masters ).
  12. sorry, don't play the faction. All I know is either of the buffs would make them worth 6ss, but they got both ss reduction and damage reduction. In general what I am trying to say, many factions got multiple abilities per card from the new upgrades, when 1 or 2 would be more than sufficient. Majority of our upgrade cards grant 1 - 2 at most( many are new abilities that cost actual AP from our masters) Somer upgrades are so bad that if you put both upgrades on 1 card for 0SS I would still take dirty-cheater/stilts/do-over/pull my finger over wasting a slot on my master with a useless upgrade.
  13. Don't have book on me but: book 2 they came out with their own upgrades to interact with the master/henchmen (ironsides) upgrades. They were cost 6 so everyone complained Book 3 they got a 1ss reduction upgrade down to 5ss, they suddenly became great! Book 4 they all got a free 0 upgrade that lets them prevent even more damage. there is a lot of models that we have that need a free 0 upgrade, although that does not always work. (warpig still will never be hired)

I would say bushwackers are close to original oxfordian mages in tearms of power ( still worse but follow me on this) They made upgrade to fix mages book 3 and book 4 they did not give anything to bushwackers oxfordian mages get played often, bushwackers sit on the sprue in my bin box for last 2 years. C'mon wyrd, lets buff gremlin under performers instead of cuddling the only playable choices they have!
  15. whats worse is most of our upgrades are 1 or 2 abilities per card(that are mediocre at best) , neveroborn get 3-4 abilities per card at 1 ss cost. the favoritism is quite stunning Also they brought back decaying aura as an "aura" even though it was consider a huge NPE when resers had it guess who got it... Neverborn. Its the year of the Neverborn my bayou gremlins, 60-70 % of players per tournament. will be purple ( sad days, time to go and drink my bayou shine in the corner)
  16. Honestly, now that I use 4 bayou's instead of 6 stuffs I totally see the "dread pirate" upgrade as very usefull
  17. Problem with gremlin faction has always been internal balance. They are the"made up" faction of M2e and not many testers had models/interest in playing the crews. This caused wide disparity between model powers. Unfortunately this trend trickles down again and again. (book 3 we got nothing useful, book 4 we seen the crazy Zip and insane Iron Skeeters) So looking at the trend for book 5 its a skip year for gremlins, or play your old lists. From the past trends that we have seen, it is unlikely that our under-performing masters ( brewmaster, ophelia, mah, wong) will receive a buff. Most likely we will see Cuddlees to Somer and Zip in the future

  19. Looking at the realistic summoning engine with Somer would be: Family +2 Bayous x4 +12 Slops x2 +10 Student of Conflict +5 Emissary +10 39 stones total
  20. true, but it is very hard to deny claim jump/extraction in first place. Also very often if hunting party was on the table with claim jump you would feed VP to your opponent. You are best off out activating your opponent and "sneaking in last minute" for scoring every round
  21. I agree about free damage, that was the NPE my local group hated about them. I do not agree about the schemes, headhunter you can keep your gremlins at max range (shooting) and if your opponents snipes them he gives you VP If you are afraid of accusation you can always reckless them to death or dumb luck them to death ( both options are good) They also have +flip light to all their flips (HUGE) In most cases 95% you are better off taking gremlins over stuffed
