  1. I’ll take her, if you’ll send her to Denmark? 😊
  2. Cool solution with the Dawn Serpent. And really cool kimono on Ama.
  3. Thanks Cranky. Those go waaay back, trying to remember... I think, I just heavily diluted some green and brown notes, closed my eyes and lathered them on with a big brush. When it comes to colour, I’d recommend you, rather than follow a recipe, try working with what you got, make your own blends. The colours on the internet is a twisted compromise between the lighting, the background, retouching, the camera, the screen you’re looking at vs the screen it was edited on and your OS before the paint itself. So what you see can differ quite a bit from whats on my shelf. Rather than try to explain, I’ll direct you to a guy, who is my current inspiration. He’s got some great tutorials on colour theory etc, but check out, what he does with Just the three primaries+Black and White :
  4. Just had a thought, Bayou has plenty of Sz 1 models, and also plenty of models with low Wp, that'll drain the gremlins of their cards as they try to unbury? Meanwhile there is plenty of opportunity to direct damage towards the scary stuff, once it is in the ground – what do you think/experience?
  5. Just had a irresistible offer on the x-roads 7 and was wondering, when/how do you guys like to run these?

  7. Third Floor Wars did a nice deep dive on McCabe. He is supposedly in a very good place - he is a Thunder after all - throw in a dawn Serpent and Emissary, along with Desper and the Hucksters and you’ve got massive speed, damage potential and resource drain.
  8. @Ogid thanks for the prompt reply. Gunlines never really did anything for me (I guess my title could be a bit misleading). I’m more interested in a ‘combined arms’ tactic - like when do you go for snipers over Archers, or any particular tricks to pull with these and the rest of the blossoms.
  9. I had to satisfy my hobby urge and ordered Thunder Archers and the Crime Syndicate to keep my hands busy till 2038, when Yan Lo is released. So my question, how do you use these models?
  10. I tried doing a list of Ranged Stat6 attack minions : Field Reporter : 6” vs Wp = Distracted and Staggered. Thallarian Queller : 12” vs Df = 2/3/4(+blasts) + Bonus Stat5 vs Wp = Staggered. Domador De Cadaveres : 8” vs Df = 2/3/4(Blast)+Injured + heal2. + Bonus Stat5 vs Wp = Injured Riotbreaker : 8” vs Df = 2/3/4 (Blasts or +1 Dam). Sergeant : 12” vs Df = 2/3/5 (Crit strike/Drop it). Witchling Handler : 8” vs WP = Burning+2 (Ignore LoS and Concealment) DM Recruiter : 12” vs Df = 2/3/5 (Crit strike). Hunter : 12” vs Df = 2/3/5 (Pull and Drag). - I personally was looking for something OOK to compliment my Lucius Investigators, in that regard the Field Reporter stands out, as she hands out Staggered, while also provide movement via scheme markers, if only she had 2” more to give. The Domadores also looks very interesting, offering healing ‘Obey’ and a bonus action. Not to mention the Witchling Handler with their ability ignoring LoS and Concealment.
  11. The ‘Catch Them!’ ability on No Prisoners seems like a great utility to transport your beaters around. I was wondering, what minions would be the best to use it on. Something with an 8”(+) attack, preferably on a Stat 6... What do you suggest?
  12. @Adran it was definitely a bad matchup, also it was my first time going against Shenlong (a seasoned player), with a crew I never used before, in a strat I’d never played. I wasn’t counting on winning anything, only to learn from my mistakes.
  13. Well I tried it out, and it was... not a big success. Strat was Recover Evidence with Wedge Schemes were Vendetta, Assassinate, Hidden Martyrs, Sabotage and Research Mission I tried to make it simple : Lucius, Scribe, Alan Reid, Grimwell, 2x Investigators, 2x Lawyers - Assassinate and Hidden Martyrs, 7 stones My opponent dished up with : Shenlong, 2 Broom boys, 2 wandering river monks, fuhatsu (trained Ninja), samurai (trained Ninja), tanuki, Huckster - Sabotage, Assassinate, 6 stones. - So I learned a lot from a lot of mistakes. I had big trouble bringing all my muscle to bear, as they were getting in the way of each other. It was hard to rely on getting staggered to secure min3 damage, when my opponent had a lot of condition removal, and I had few sources of Staggered. My timing was off, its important for Grimwell to go early to profit from his hand drain, but this also requires staggered to go on the Target for the built-in Crow. The crew really needs an anchor. Everything is made of wet toilet paper - although my opponent flipped nothing but severes for damage, so that didn’t make it easier.
  14. I was wondering, what’s your take on Doppleganger vs 46 in a crew like this?
  15. People come in all shapes and sizes, so they fit in well. And since the bird box is out, don’t expect a resculpt any time soon.
  16. I want to put Lucius on the table and completely drain my opponents hand. How would you suggest, I should go about it?
  17. You pay the(/all) cost before actually declaring the target - which is when consumed by wrath triggers. So yes this works as you hope.
  18. I second looking to Grimwell and Alan Reid + Investigators. Stagger opponents to hit them with min3, while forcing them to discard their hand.
  19. @regleant It might have come off, as I put a lot of effort into creating Shadow markers. In reality it wasn’t that much - Ototo created one every turn, but using a mask to increase his movement. Then a Torakage schemed and flipped for a Shadow marker once, maybe twice. My opponent managed to disrupt me once by placing two 40mm bases to block my access. So I wasn’t going out of my way to create Shadow markers - although the Torakage moving/scheming/flipping was instrumental in getting Misaki back to defend the symbols. My biggest ‘problem’ was to find out how to use Misaki’s bury/unbury mechanic. I ended up doing so every turn for defense and flexibility, but I wonder if that was the ‘right’ choice.
  20. Distance have no effect on whether an action 'moves' a model or not, it's simply whether you do a Move/Push/Place that triggers the effect. Only in the cases where the distance is specified, do you actually have to change the position.
  21. It's also problematic to ride a horse through a lava lake. Unfortunately it is indeed mandatory, in most circumstances it'll be beneficial however - and in the instances where it isn't, there is always the disengage action.
  22. Not exactly painting, but I snapped a few pictures, when Misaki was finally let loose on the table - and in the end, that’s what its all about.
