  2. I know for sure probably nothing will be made to the point. Some time has passed, my previous thoughts almost did not change. Anyway: 1) Fix our upgrades. LLC first. 2) Pistoleros, Thalarian quellers, Greed, Investigators, Nino, Santiago, Queeg, Monster hunters, Orderlies. Those at the very least need a slight buff. Hunters and Nurse HB come as close second. Maybe Samael. 3) Phiona and Pale Rider need a slight nerf. 4) Need more keyword models for Journalists and Elite at the very least. 5) Risk of Reason needs to be reworked. Potential NPE both ways. 6) GIVE US MORE UTILITY MODELS PLEASE. Everything is my honest opinion. I just want to make game a bit more fun for everybody, other factions included.
  3. The third game was really long. Both players wanted to be at their best, so it was without the time limit. It was played in two parts across two days.
  4. Sanctioned spellcasters and witchling thralls are a must to Sonnia. Lucius core (lawyers) or Nellie core (Phiona) boxes will be excellent.
  5. My usual lists are: New Lucius Mattheson Crew (Guild) Size: 50 - Pool: 6 Leader: Lucius Mattheson Totem(s): The Scribe Hires: Guild Steward Pale Rider Guild Lawyer Phiona Gage Lead-Lined Coat Agent 46 Second LLC goes wherever you need it. You can swap Phiona with Lone Marshal against summoners or for additional aggression. Alan is actually really decent but I discovered he is entirely not needed in keyword. Try him with Lady J, lol. Agent is very nice with extra AP. If you are not taking Agent why even bother with Lucius? The only other decent option is multimaster Lucius, but thats frown upon in western meta. P.S. Investigators I dont like at all. They can do a lot, but in the same time they are super restricted in what they do. Makes me cringe even before considering them. No. Doppleganger is meh. Too expensive and squishy. changelings are great, but completely not needed in GG1. Hope this will change in the future.
  6. Hoffman loses nothing, but other crews you ll have to think a bit. No Rider for once should make life more difficult. Though folk is known to be inventive, this will be fun tournament to use for barely founded claims 😅 Phiona+Steward, Steward + Lawyer and already mentioned Phiona+Lawyer is still viable.
  7. Pro tip: never ever take them against arcanists (free soulstones with cache), resurrectionists (rider, jaakuna, yan lo) or leveticus (free summons).
  8. Yep, totally. Augmented is best keyword hands down - tons of models with different roles. Lets count. Master and totem are excluded. 12 models ! lots excellent (Howard, Joss, Medical automaton, Toolkit, Steamfitters, etc) Most decent, few questionable. Excellent crew synergy. Compare that to guards - 8 models, 2 of them excellent summons and decent hires, everything else is niche/bad. mediocre crew synergy based on Sergeant and Queeg. Pass Family - 7 models. 1 excellent (Francisco), everything else is overcosted/understatted glass cannons. Very costly and restrictive crew synergy. Mimic/Elite is alright, but still lacking models. - 7 models. 2 excellent (lawyer, changeling), 2 nice (agent, alan) rest niche/bad. Excellent crew synergy but based on 2-3 models tops. Journalist - 6 models (really, only 6?). 2 Excellent (Phiona, UReporter), 2 nice (Allison, newsie). Good crew synergy that you can completely live without and hire something else. Marshal - 7 models. Mostly alright, but lacking real synergy with themselves and Lady itself. Frontier - 9 models. 2 excellent (worm, pathfinder), nice riders and everything else as a filler. They are not that good. They seriously lack in options against some crews. (Jack will wipe the floor with frontier for example). Deploy synergy, thats all. Witch Hunters - 7 models. 1 excellent SanctionedSC, 1 nice (handlers) and rest are fillers. Thrall Glass rocket almost never works as a hire - too damn squshy for those stones. Stalkers and everything else is meh. Spelleaters are not really that good with the quality of the keyword as it is. Mediocre synergy. Not worth it.
  9. @Miltarion is the winner. He mains Lady 90% of the time and she was used in rounds 2-5. The first game was Lucius. I took Hoff for turns 1 (against Parker),4 (lost to mentioned winner 😅 ), 5 (vs Kirai); and Sonnia rounds 2 (vs Schtook), 3 (vs arcanist Hoff). The link to the event is here: https://bag-o-tools.com/live/#/live/1648 Cheers to @Scoffer for yet another amazing event.
  10. A really nice point actually. Though I think Family needs a bit more than that. As for LJ a brainstorm is in order! Plain: "Friendly Marshal models may treat 0'' actions as 1''" Something more complex: "Friendly Marshal models may treat 0'' actions as 2'' actions if targeting a models with Staggered; When an enemy model with Staggered is buried it suffers 1 damage" Something completely fair and balanced: "When an enemy model is buried by a friendly model this model can make a action targeting buried model ignoring targeting restrictions"
  11. Oh, wow. I really have a hard time taking this post seriously (and I mean all the posts, not only the initial one). Some points I definetely agree on, as they have overlaps with my almost a year old post (And it was before the current errata!): But other points? Well.... Peacekeeper buffs? This will make arcanist hoff INSANE. I honestly dont have a clue of a single buff not making him bonkers in blue colors. I agree that he is a bit underwhelming in other crews (read: almost a nevertake). As @Maniacal_cackle already said: just ignore the versatile tag XD. LJ's rework you suggested I dont really like. Id suggest completely removing Decay and giving her something synergetic with the keyword for once. Judges Risk of Reason I totally agree on - I passionately hate this crap. Frustrating Gamble. DMR - consolidate power on him will make him viable. DM is totally fine. Just the Gaining Grounds 1 is totally not suited for cheap models. Pinebox changes will require changes for 3 models for consistency: DM, DMR and Brutal Effigy. Those changes are not realistic. Wyrd will not do that. Though I agree this action is 90% waste of card space and 10% once in a blue moon possibility. Scales buff seems OK. Honestly seeing Cadmus totems you can just slap those wounds to 8. TQ - Gunfigher or ,elee attack will do the job. Tactical needs a bit of work. Purifying Flame - STOP. This is one of the best totems in guild, dont you dare touch it! XD Pistoleros should be reworked for 4 SS cost, those changes are too much. Only thing Basse needs is some triggers on Stoic Nod. Reichart can do with some additional buffs as he is now worse then OOK hire. Paul is fine. Leave him alone - he is a 4 factions model. It is almost impossible to make him right as he is in a too tight of a spot. Lucius is fine. I expect he will be insane with proposed gun. Id love it ofc XD. Agent can go with additional DF, that I agree on. Investigators can do with stat 6 on interrogate and some sort of a movement trick (chain gang maybe?). Shielded +1 on Bravado seems like a really nice idea, though probability of Wyrd changing the whole keyword ability is close to zero. Sorry, thats how it is. Nino needs Stealth - @trikk is on point. "Family just needs a little to be fine talk" - sorry, what? Maybe we live in completely different metas as ours are dominated by Dreamer, Colette, Shenlong, Schtook, Leveticus, YanLo and Ophelia. Perdita as I see it has almost nothing she can do to those crews. And oh boy I tried to make her work. @im_open_to_suggestions Do you have any battle reports? That sounds really interesting and I really want to know what makes your successfull games so different from my games.
  12. Ill join. Does strategy markers count for the damage on Nellies Twisting Their Ideals?
  13. You are kidding right? Look at Nino, Papa, MH, Pistoleros. Or are you implying a very position specific mechanic of the crew requiring a card discard and also requiring to hire a very subpur model just to offset the crappy stats on attacks only and only not on its own activation is quite alright? Yep, Santiago can be quite scary if he somehow manages to catch the opponent in the open field without concealment and cover (oh yes, very likely) and if he is not already dead by that point. Usually low stats are compensated by something like a decent protection mechanic or unique tricks. Those models "unique" tricks are maybe draw a card/take a concentrate if you are lucky (if you are positioned right, have a needed suit and managed to hit) or discard a card to let somebody else try to be lucky. This type of game is not well suited for competitiveness. The usuall result is an empty hand and a hope youll be lucky. Nino is the least capable sniper in the entire game. Papa is a liability more often then he is usefull. The crew cant deal enough damage on tables with normal ammount of terrain - you need several activations with Papa to setup blow appart at the very least or go full zerg(lol). Look at enforcers in other factions in the 6-8 bracket. Youll see the difference.
  14. You cant give him fast in this list. It wasnt actually a reveal. Never managed to drop him below 6. It was a lucky execute when he had no cards and stones at the end of the turn. This list has no plan for turn 2 and later. The only thing I see here is a hope for lucky potshots with stat 5 (with discard a card if succesfull), wasted trail of gore and few cards left for actual executioneers attacks. Seems like a reckless gamble. What is the plan if both executioneers will be dead turn 2? Whats the schemes and strats are you planning this list for?
  15. Hi, I guess this post is the result of our match. Let me clarify something in advance: 1) The game itself was a pretty close one. I was mostly a sitting duck and Yan Lo played an aggresion face tank with some preparation turn 1 2) My predicted result was my loss actually. It was really a combination of the best value from my crew and an incredible luck with the drawing of high crows from the discard pile (by the lawyer) and actually flipping it later on the executioneers attack that decided the game in my favor (with both Yan Lo and Izamu dead as a result). Yan Lo in his current form is pretty bonkers itself. So... Yes, Dashel is our best choice in the single masters format. Why is that? Lets summarise with a bit of an example of my thought process: 1) Dashels keyword is actually not really that good except the high end Mounted Guards and Executioneers. The sole value of them being an incredible summons. But that comes with the cost. I never ever consider hiring low tier models in serious games. Dogs are complete crap in GG1 Patrols are worth something only as a desperate summons or fodder for a recruiter (not for a serious games). They are excellent as a demise result though. Wardens are a niche pick/summon (hello, Jack). Riflemen - too niche, need a valid map and a stategy pool. They require too much attention and do to little without something to shoot at. Sergeants are generally a result of unlucky card draw. I really dont need them for support as they are too expensive for what they do and I have a better models for summon itself. MG are excellent, though I dont want to hire them as I dont want them to fill up actual hire slots for neccessary models. Executioneers - best summons hands down, but them requiring a king makes me just forget about everything in keyword when hiring. I need something else entirely for that to work. And the last, but not least - Mr. Queeg. Forget about this piece of crap. He is for casual games or for smashing newbies. 2) So what Dashel needs and what actually makes him so frustrating to play against? Number one star - The almighty Lawyer. Why? Because this model provides the support this crew NEEDS. The Dispatcher itself only provides draw as an after effect of a summon itself, so it can not actually help you when you need it. You can go for a double executioneer hire to offset that though you will be forced to waste their activations at the very least first turn expept maybe in closer deployment - good luck with that alfa play. Lawyer can help with finding the neccesary severe from the discard for summon, high crows for execute or Lone Marshals exorcism, you can fetch this king of rams (or RJ) right after Dashels activation right back if you already had it in the first place. This requires a turtilng gameplay for best results, but will benefit you either way. The lawyers have excellent synergy with Gage, Lone Marshal, Undercover Reporters and Emissary. Shields with surge on demand is golden. This is an always pick. I often take 2. The other important models: Pale Rider - his ultimate keeps the whole guild (except Hoff) together. Remove him and everything will be 50% worse. Gage - Dashels own henchman is a bunch of crap. The crew needs a reliable soulstone user except the master itself. She is the best one with the 3 potential actions. The other alternative is Judge and Alan, but they are a lot less flexible and offer a considerbly smaller pool of possibilities. Judge cant protect anyone and Alan is a lot worse in survivability. The guard keyword has a strong "Loot their corpses" ability, but only master and a card draw is a valid choice for them. That is kinda stupid. Steward - he is invaluable with the FMM and condition removal. Sadly we have nothing to replace him with. The Lone marshal - we need him against summoning crews and if we dont really expect high aggressive pressure. The undercover reporter - free card from a lawyer, a great way to send this pesky Hanged to his own corner deployment. A niche pick, but a very valuable sometimes. The Effigy with an upgrade - the least important. Nice for vendetta and far deployments when you dont think youll need the second lawyer. And the last thing to take a look at is The Lead Lined Coat. This thing is what dragging the guild down hard. This is the only upgrade in the guild. Literaly. And Dashel has it for free. So whats the result? This crew turtles hard, then snowballs if you feed him your own crew. An afterthough: Those models are not only Dashels crew exclusives. Nellie, Lucius, Sonnia are a kinda switch-on, switch-out masters for those models. That is a huge problem, I know. The thing is the whole guild is almost void of valuable enough mechanics and keyword synergies. They are almost never worth the effort to just build a crew on. Look at the guards themselves - their synergies are not worth the effort, as they require the hiring of subpur models to achive mediocre results with the considerable investment. The same goes for Perditas crew - everything in keyword is crap except Francisco. Just compare the stats to some other crews, its not even funny. Just imagine her keyword crew against new faction - the odds are not in your favor at all. So what needs to be done (To Dashel and Guild on the bigger scale)? Dashel: 1) I always said the card draw from the totem is too much. The better way is to get some card draw to sergeants for example. 2) Keyword should be complete. Guards are a bit lonely with only one henchman and no enforcers. We need some juice! I cant imagine what the future Dashels title will be without this buffs. I cant quite comprehend how he can force the keyword usage without some new synergies. Yep, thats all for now. Thats because guild as the whole is coming next: 1) The LLC needs a redesign. 90% of the models in guild are designed with the LLC in mind (With the notable exceptions as Phiona Gage - thats one of the reasons she is so popular). This weights down on the whole faction. Laugh off and the armor +1 should probably be on the different upgrades alltogether. Expert marskman needs a heavy redesign, i am tired of the upgrade that is only used on Sonnia very rarely. (Nobody in the right mind will use it on Nino as Perdita is not competitive right now). No Prisoners ended up as a failure. The cost and requirements and aftermath of "Catch them!" is to clunky. 2) Lots of nevertakes need a buff. Family as a whole need a lot of work, minions under 5 SS need something special to take them (I really hope GG2 will help with that, they are not worth it right now) 3) We need a keyword models that will offer something UNIQUE to the crew. We have some like lawyers, but they are so good they offer it to any crew. That is the main problem, not the Dashel itself. The gap between good models and mediocres are too great. And I dont think we will be as competitive without our best models and buffs all over the place. We dont have alternatives. The Pale Rider is one of kind, The Lone Marshal is one of a kind and so on. Everything else is just the mix of stats with occasional crappy keyword synergy. All of the above is pretty much applicable to every guild crew with Hoffman being a minor exception - he has a lot of very good blue alternatives. Phew, that was a lot longer then i wanted to at start, sorry for the wall of text.
  16. Never took Queeg and never will. He is more a liability imo. Dashel problem is he does not require anything in keyword except his totem. None. Why bother taking a model only suited for buffing something in keyword you dont even need? I prefer to take some good models instead. Dashel himself is a decent choice (considering our selection range) but the problem is a complex one: 1) We have only a few solid models for a solo pickup duty. Any other way requires combos and combos can be disrupted a lot easier. Okay, we have LJ. Veeeery satisfactory to use the most expensive model in the game as a scheme runner (no). 2) We have a very weak symbols protection strategies. No terrain markers, backside models are not fast enough/hit hard enough. You kinda torn between picking strat and defending strat and both parts are our weak points. You can do kinda well with the opponents not quite optimized, but you will be frustrated a lot playing against marker creating flying/leaping/incorporeal/teleporting or whatever opponent. Good luck playing against Tara, Collette, Euripides and the likes. Basse will be a decent choice once Worm is out i guess
  17. Symbols is our worst strategy for sure. Especially on Corner.
  18. Nah, he is immune to common sense. Just ignore him and he will go away (maybe). 😃
  19. Okay, thats all folks! So glad we had the chance to know such a wonderfull bunch of people. All of you are a pleasure to play with and a great sport. What a great games! And Emma is indeed OP. 😃 Plaag (Colette) - Ollie (Shenlong) 7-6 NotSoEmpty (Yan Lo) - Radek (Mah Tucket) 1-7 Legislat (Dashel) - Emma (Dreamer) 7-6 Video recording will be provided later by @Verdeloth. Thanks a bunch to him!
  20. I think Paul Crocket is pretty damn amazing with the Sand Worm as a combination. The opponent will have to consider him somehow. This alone seems worth it to bring him in. Thats pure speculation for now, but i think something like Basse (LLC) +totem, Paul Cr., SWorm, Stewie, Pathfinder (or 2) will be core with the spices on top.
  21. Team Russia #1 - The Flippin Wyrds Some intense games! And nice opponents. Dmitriy (Legislat) - Chris (Kais666) Dashel 6 - Dreamer 6 Vladimir (NotSoEmpty) - Jamie Jack Daw 4 - Dashel 4 Alex (Plaag) - Matt Colette 7 - Hoffman 0
  22. It is kinda funny to see opinions change in real time
  23. The problem is she is just plain boring. She has zero interesting mechanincs. The most success i had with her was in Lucius crew. She got everyhing she needed there - entourage, betrayal aura, got your back, cards and shields, possible coordinated attack and analyze weakness. Her crew does not have any essential nor unique utility. Thats quite sad, though we have a pretty successfull player in our meta playing her entirely in keyword. I guess thats a matter of perspective. I consider her a pretty weak choice in keyword and situational (expensive, really) choice as an addition to the other keyword. "Hits hard, but you kinda need to be a bit lucky and a wacky coffins on top" is not really an attractive description of something i want to play.
