  1. The model falls down when it's base is not supported by the table or terrain and continues movement on lower level (p.14 digital rulebook). So it's impossible to "jump" over a chasm unless it's narrower than the model's base and the base will be supported (partially) by terrain at any time during the move.
  2. No, you can't get the fourth activation. At step 4 the duet is already activated and both coryphees will be activated after replace.
  3. You don't need to spend a stone on each attack. If you have any 13 in hand, it's almost guaranteed summon (unless you attack something rare with WP 7+). And what's even more important - Ivan's attack drains opponent's resources. When any other model wins an attack duel with a moderate flip it's ok to say "Fine, you can deal damage with a single negative" and save high cards for something more important or cheat a little higher to make attacker waste a card too. When it's Ivan, you have to cheat as high as possible, because Ivan can have a moderate crow in hand.
  4. Relenting model can declare resistance triggers. Relenting model skips steps A-D of duel timing, but triggers are declared on step E (p.10 digital rulebook).
  5. Yes. Charge is resolved as soon as the move part is over No. "Treated as" effects fully replace initial state of subject with a new one (see faq 5.5). That's why Moorwraith can not be a model and a terrain marker at the same time. Yes. Stop in base contact. It doesn't count as moving through.
  6. I think such situation can happen only if a player is intentionally trying to prevent the fourth marker from being placed and "steal" one potential VP from his opponent. Restarting the process from the beginning is not the best solution: the unfair player already knows his opponent's plan and it can give him an advantage. As a TO I would say that only the third marker should be placed again to leave a legal place for the fourth one.
  7. The source of damage is Burning Path Ability, regardless of the Action that generated the move. That's why damage will not be reduced by Incorporeal anyway.
  8. When your opponent knows you are doing RB, he can make Ashigaru the target of the second (or third) obey and place it the way it will not be able to drop a marker.
  9. Runic binding is too obvious and too easy to deny. You have to drop markers close to the enemy and it's hard to make it look like something else. The only model that can do it in a single activation is Zoraida: she can obey enemy models three times to make them drop your markers, but Ashigaru still can ruin everything with Take the Hit.
  10. General advice: play schemes and try not to die. Leader selection: I think Ophelia and her Kin are the best choice for Recover Evidence in most situations. Mah, Zipp and Ulix can also do the job, especially if the table has a lot of concealing terrain. If it's the famous "double Toshiro" list (I think it's the most oppressive Yan Lo list), you will never score more than 2 VP from strategy. So you need to pick schemes very carefully and build your list to score as much as possible from schemes. Yan Lo is very good at controlling the centerpoint, so Claim Jump and Leave Your Mark in the pool give your opponent a huge advantage. If you see those schemes don't pick them (unless there is absolutely nothing else you can score). Take something to remove scheme markers (Ophelia and Sammy can do it from safe distance). And your primary target should be the model replaced from initial Gokudo. Spread Them Out, Sabotage, Research Mission, Breakthrough are your friends. Take some fast models, spread them around the table and score while the rest of your team is trying to keep enemy models occupied around the centerpoint. Watch out for Manos and teleporting Gokudo, they can rush into your backline to score - catch them and kill them while their friends are away and can't help. Assassinate? Not recommended. Yan Lo is too hard to kill. Vendetta. Always a good choice, just bring a proper killer. Catch and Release. We have models that can score the first point (Silurids, Iron Skeeters), but it will be very hard to keep them alive for the second point. Also the model you pick will have an evidence token, and it doubles the danger. Hidden Martyrs, Let Them Bleed, Take Prisoner. These schemes have "negative synergy" with Recover Evidence. You need to keep enemy models alive (and loose a chance to score strategy) or have your models killed (and give opponent an opportunity to score strategy). Runic Binding... It's not a scheme to be taken at all. And a small Ulix trick. You can drop Piglets down to 1 health (Reckless-Charge-Stampede) to make them drop strategy markers in your deployment and after that heal them and grow them into War Pigs. But don't take too many significant non-master models to make your opponent put at least 2 tokens on your Piglets.
  11. The only reason not to take a Bokor is playing against Tara. Zoraida doesn't like enemy beaters next to her. I usually take only one Bokor. Two can be useful if you hire Juju and want to keep him alive, but it's not my way. Voodoo doll is just perfect - up to 4 attacks gives Bokor all glowy he needs. Shielded should be use carefully, because shielded on Voodoo doll means 2 less damage to the model with Wanga Mojo Curse. I'd like to add that Bokor can deal some damage to enemy beaters that come close to Zoraida and it's a big surprise to the opponent most of time. Stat 5 is not very high, but after a couple of Hexes with injured from Zoraida chances to hit become good. In one of my games I managed to finish McCabe and Sidir this way.
  12. Unfortunately, no. Disengage generates a Push, not Walk or Charge, so even models with flight can't ignore obstacles and severe terrain
  13. Angles are meaningless. There are 3 things you should know about los and elevation: 1. If a model has sz1 or more and stands on a piece of blocking terrain, everyone outside of that terrain shadow can see it. 2. Model that are in the shadow of terrain can always see a model that stands on terrain within 1" from it's edge. 3. Models that are in the shadow of terrain can see a model that stands on terrain further than 1" from it's edge only if their sz is bigger than terrain's ht. In your example B can see A if A is within 1" from the edge of the bridge. B will not have cover from the bridge. A will not have cover from the bridge because shadow spreads outside of terrain, not on it's top. I recommend to treat railings and similar blocking objects standing on blocking terrain as separate pieces of terrain for los and cover purposes. If A is in the shadow of the railing (within 1" from it) it will have cover.
  14. Markers fall down only when they are moved off an elevated surface (p. 28, second point). Drop/create is not a move, so, reading the rules as written, if we allow a marker to be dropped "in the air", it remains flying => the "place on the table" part of drop rules is missing. Also creating markers in the air can be used to abuse the rules in a very dirty way: a marker can not be created in base contact with other models and hazardous markers do not trigger their effects when dropped/created (because it's not a move). But "airborne" marker will be created over a model (not in base contact) and when it falls down on a model it's a move for hazardous purposes. I definitely don't want such things in my Malifaux.
  15. We also have guys that lost some hight (Ulix) or grew a little (Swinecursed) between editions without being resculpted. So I think we shouldn't even try to compare actual size of different models with the same SZ stat. I should also say, that I do like Alphonse model. He looks like a nice open-minded guy, big and kind. He's very like Francois - his simple pose tells a lot about his mood and character. I think he is trying to say: "Hi, there, friend! I'm going to hit you very hard with this hand and smash you into the wall after that! Have a nice day!"
  16. It's smaller. Looks like a wild boar size.
  17. "Unaffected by Severe terrain" means "ignores Severe trait of terrain" (see the "Unaffected by terrain" box on p.37 digital rulebook), not the piece of terrain with all it's traits.
  18. Your interpretation is correct - only two rats in a row. Effects with the same name and same text but printed on different model's cards are two separate effects, not the same one.
  19. Oh no! Guys, are you really trying to apply logic and fact checking to a virgin/chad meme?!
  20. This will make distracted too strong and seriously boost adversary and built-in [+] to attack flip. Now when a model has Distracted +2 (or more) it can concentrate with the first action, make a focused attack without [-] to hit and keep Distracted+1. If Distracted and Focused cancel each other, in the same situation there will be no way to make a straight attack flip. So it's two attacks with a [-], both most likely miss, a whole activation of a 8-9ss enforcer are wasted. No fun at all.
  21. That's why you treat a Pit Trap as a Scrap to pay the cost while it's next to Sparks, and drop a Pit Trap from space.
  22. No. Launch Into Space says "drop the removed Marker". You pick a Marker from the table, put it next to Wong's card and return it to the table later. If Wong removes a Pit Trap he drops a Pit Trap, even if it was treated as a scrap.
  23. I think "when dropping Marker ... drop an additional Marker of the same type" means "of the same type with the Marker you drop with this Action", not "with the removed Marker". So if you drop a Pit Trap the trigger drops another Pit Trap.
  24. There is no such thing as "tandem damaging" in malifaux. Model can be damaged by actions, abilities, conditions, hazardous terrain and falling. Each source of damage is resolved separately and is identifiable no matter how complicated the situation seems to be. When Voodoo Doll hits Nekima with Wango Mojo Curse attached and suffers damage from Black Blood, Nekima can't say "it's Black Blood and Linked Fate working in tandem, and I'm immune to Black Blood damage" to ignore damage from Linked Fate. When Sparks has Wango Mojo Curse attached and Voodoo Doll suffers damage from a blast, Sparks can't say "it's blast and Linked Fate working in tandem, and I'm immune to blast damage" to ignore damage from Linked Fate.
