  1. I think Serena had it coming; she was a very efficient piece and despite her nerfs, I would still consider her a strong addition to any NB crew. But the multiple nerfs to Dreamer breaks my heart, because it targets both of his specialties (Summoning & Lucid Dreams).
  2. I'm not entirely happy with the "base contact is physical base contact" rule. It makes things easier, but makes many terrains more difficult to handle and abilities, that places a second model into base contact more difficult to use (ride with me etc.), but I guess it is, what it is. Still need to get used to that pythagoras means nothing, when it comes to measuring distances xD
  3. Thank you very much for the very detailed clarification!
  4. Thanks for the clarification. So it seems the consensus is, base contact is physical base contact. The end position of the dropping still has to be in base contact, which means no dropping into differing heights. I have another question, not sure if I may capture my own threat: I'm not sure I get LoS and heights correctly, since it's treated abstractly. I try to make a stark a example to get my point through: A (size 2) is standing on a bridge with height 5. The bridge has a blocking reiling (size 1). B (size 2) is standing on the floor level very close to the bridge. Due to the angle, B cannot draw true line of sight to A. Can B draw line of sight to A in Malifaux? And if so, is A in cover? (probably yes), but is B also in cover from A?
  5. When is a Marker without specific Size in Base contact with a model? Variant 1: Model stands on the edge of a Box with hight 1". Can he drop a Marker into base contact to the floor, but as close to him as possible? (meaning dropping it down beside the Box he is standing on?) Variant 2: The model stands on the ground in base contact to a Box. Can he drop a Marker on the Box? What exactly is base contact? Is it the physical base or is it a cylindrical area the size of the base, with the size of the model?
  6. Yes, that's what I meant. Thank you very much! 😃
  7. Guys, how did the matchup end? Where is the recording? =D I'm very curious!
  8. I absolutely agree. I took him for a beater and he got mauled terribly. Furthermore I was confused about his damage track, until I realized, that he is a pretty solid damage dealer vs. HtW. Today I'm still not entirely convinced of him, especially since Pandora is also able to remove Focussed and handling out Stun is easy to comeby in a Pandora Crew. I have Poltergeist and Iggy for Anti-Scheming (and fire damage, if necessary) and I feel like the ping damage is sufficient to battle hordes of cheap models, so I don't feel the urge to include more blasts. But what I need Carver occasionally for is his Ruthless. Neverborn are generally really tight on Ruthless and in some engagements, I want to have both (Carver and Rider). Might be just my inability to leverage Carver more, but I do feel he is a bit expensive for what he brings to the table, to include him with any regularity.
  9. Thank you very much! Will inform back, when I have tried it!
  10. I started out with Pandora only, because I liked the idea of her playstyle plus the theme of her models. I actually wouldn't recommend to start with her, because she is really hard to learn as a beginner, because her playstyle is a lot about correct positioning (all your Auras require LoS to work), which is very subtle and not that quick to improve in. Furthermore half of the Strategies, half of the Schemes and half of the deployment zones are bad for her, which leads to you having a disadvantage in most games. But if you want to stick with Pandora, here a my two cents: - Get Serna Bowman for heal, condition removal and the occasionally "Hole in the World" game changer; she also works well with Teddy and Carver, because she can melee through them with Blast trigger. - Use Baby as a mobility peace and late game Assassin. Move, call Teddy to you and then Lure another model. - Carver is really difficult to use IMO, because he has to get close, cannot flurry, is expensive and deceptively fragile. I would recommend to take either Hinamazu or Hooded Rider instead, until you have more experience with the crew. - Try not to have more than 2 Manipulative Models in the crew. It really limits your activation order. - Candy is a must-have. Works well with Hooded Rider as her Big Daddy. - Poltergeist is great, but hide him most of the time and treat him like a Civilian.
  11. Wait a second, just for me to understand that combo right: 1. BBS knifes someone twice to generate 2x Corpse Marker (CM). 2. Use bonus Action Blasphemous Ritual (BR) once, to pulse Focus. 3. Activate Vasilisa, using Pulling the Strings on BSS to make BSS use Bous Action again to pulse Focus for the second time. 4. Have Scheme Marker nearby to not kill BSS. Is that the way? I really didn't know that Bonus Actions are "Actions" in the term of Pulling the Strings =D
  12. Thank you very much for all the replies! I have further questions, but instead of posting them here, I probably will open a own topic. See you then, and thanks again!
  13. Hey, not intending on dive-bombing this thread, but as a newbie Neverborn player I'm very curious about your comment about double ancient-pact. Was that comment primarily for Marcus or was it a general statement about NVB playstyle? If it is a general statement, can you please elaborate how to use the initiative advantage? (What to do if you win the initiative and why?). Thank you very much!
