  1. Cerberus When Ulix found the three-headed piglet surrounded by the corpses of the rest of the litter, he fondly named it Cerberus and locked it up in a shed. Having an ultra aggressive pig is only fun up to a point where you have to close your farm because it ate all the other animals. With time passing and the help of Penelope, Ulix was able to tame Cerberus enough so that it would follow his orders (most of the time) and even taught it a couple of tricks - though it refused to roll over and play dead, sadly. Now, Cerberus is one of the main reasons Gremlins and strangers don't linger aroung Ulix's farm for too long, except for that one incident where a demented young Gremlin called Orpheus thought he could lull in wild pigs by playing his banjo. Ulix actually welcomed Orpheus braking into Cerberus' sty for he learned that banjou music could be used to enrage pigs so much they entered a killing frenzy. And he got a free banjo.
  2. Thank's for another great battle report. appreciate the effort :-)
  3. She's also good in keeping your models where they are, for example against lures. And she's a good pick in Tail 'em. I agree, she should have the possivility to deal more damage, for example if in xy range to a friendly foundry model, or sth like that. But tham again, she is not supposed to be a hitter.
  4. This is very cool! Excellent use of models :-).
  5. Thing is, once a product is released and open for ordering ,it is not good if you have to wait even a month, actually. Manufactoring issues, shipping etc. is a factor, but I think it is understandable if there are complaints when players have to wait xy months for the product. If it is the supplier's fault, well, then that might be so, but it is not the supplier's product, so in the end the ball is in Wyrd's court. So it makes sense if the customer does adress Wyrd, not the supplier (if known).
  6. I like Beckoners but find myself including Lilitu more often. I actually like the Beckoner's 4" push and ranged brilliance, but Lilitus lure and 4" range plus possibility to take an upgrade is great. Then, I often field Graves as a neater with Lynch. I'd second the purchase of the Effigy. Helping Lynch out with push if attacked is great to help keep Lynch from dying in melee. You can get Depleted, too. I actually don't take them that often. If you can get your hands on Terror Tots, they are nice too. They.fill a similar role as Gupps. But they have the mask trick were there have auto-sprint once you have an ace of mask on hand.
  7. To add to all the tips you already got, if you want to mix a highlight for red, vallejo's model color 'sunny skintone' works very well. Especially if you want a cooler overall tone. You can the use white to highlight it even further. If you use white exclusively, the red turns to pink quickly. In gerneral, you should try to balance the colors used, for example, you can highlight green with yellow or white or another light green. Either can work, but when combined with other colors on your mini ,one or the other can look a bit off. So if you have some old/cheap models lying around, you can experiment. Looking into colour theory can provide useful tips too. For example, that yellow can be shaded with purple.
  8. Happy to see you posting your work again. Beautiful minis. :-)
  9. How about: Pandora: Woe, Depression, Fugue, +3 ss (8) or Wings plus 4 ss Primordial Magic (2) Emissary with Conflux of Sorrow (10) Tannen (6) Doppgaenger (7) Graves, 1kFaces (9) Iggy (5) Will o the Wisp (3) Pandora can use Depr. to avoid being suit reliant for summoning. Primordial Magic for.activation and two rounds of Rush, so it is okay if it's sacrificed later for fhe poltergeist. Emissary and iggy can incite instead of pandora. Emissary can add to summoning (also on masks and unreliable, but that's what depression, rush and tannen are for). also, emissary can use cooler to great effect, or misery/martyr/incorporeal. Graves for pushes and as a beater. Will o the wisp can potentially copy a summoned poltergeist's (2). all in all, the crew might lack killing power, though.
  10. I am fond of Huggy, although I don't see the sculpt as beeing particularly menacing etc. But I also don't see it as beeing especially dorky either. Huggy has a certain charm. Most proxies and the new alternative version are 'generic horror monster' in my eyes. I guess it is good, then, that we have two models to choose from. (Nothing against some good old thread-necromancy)
  11. Herakles Being quick to anger and gambling don't go well together, especially when a lot of 'Shine is in play. That is a lesson Herakles had to learn the hard way. After he 'accidently' trashed the Moonshine supply of his local gambling den after losing his last - and only - shirt, trouble was brewing for poor Herakles. In the brawl that followed in which the landlord took the phrase 'an eye for an eye' too literally, poor Herakles was only saved because a drunk gambler had the idea it would be funnier to make him do stuff instead of throwing him to the gators. In the heated debate that followed, one suggestion won the laughter of the most Gremlins present. Herakles was told to clean after Ulix's pigs, and only when the whole pigsty was clean, Herakles would be free to go. That was four years ago. He is currently working on it. The inspiration here comes from the 12 labours of Heracles and the cleaning of the Augean stables in particular. Herakles was a demi-god who later ascended into Olymp. The illegitimate offspring sired by Zeus had to take a lot of crap from Hera, Zeus' wife, who hated him with a passion and tried everything to make his life miserable, causing the death of many innocents, including Herakles' wife and children. I tried to add additional fluff to the miniature to give it more character. The paining scheme becomes evident here, mostly browns (and greens, duh) with a bit of purple to add contrast. I might add yellow flowers, the green is a bit dominant, but I also don't want it to become to colourful. I am happy how the barrel turned out. I painted it first in metals (Scale 75) and then drybrushed Vallejo Rust Effect (a reddish light brown wash) mixed with Vallejo brown pigments on top of it. I also tried to add texture to the trousers.
  12. I've been checking youtube for days for more :-P. Glad to hear it isin the pipeline. Looking forward to it, the last one was very enjoyable to watch.
  13. Well, that will be hard to find out: 1. Due to the boom in miniature games, there is a ton of interesting games competing against each other. In the past, jf you went to a club, warhammer/40k basically was the go-to system, later WarmaHordes joined. Then, many others followed filling the void warhammer left when people started to turn their back. There are currently some 'major' gaming systems, the renewed 40k, warmahordes (on the decline, as I heard), guild ball, x-wing, with the occasionally dust or freebooters thrown in. Games like infinity or malifaux have fans, but it is hard to find players. But this is the case for many games. Instead of 1-3 systems, the vast number of available games makes it hard to reliably find opponents because people are trying out many different systems and you might end up playing against the same 1-2 people. 2. Malifaux gamers in germany are not as connected as in, say, the uk. The hot-spots seem to be the north, hamburg/cuxhaven' and the south-west, saarbrücken. there are people elsewhere, of course, but more scarce and not all playing in stores. 3. Physical, brick-amd-mortar stores are on the decline. Because of the internet and reason nr. 1. It is impossible to have a good stock of so many games. If you have a stable community for malifaix, you might have a better stock, but it is also risky. 3. Availability for Wyrd products is, let's say it that way,a valid reason to criticize. Shipping from the us is prohibitly expensive for.privat buyers. Big stores in germany ordering products only recieve parts of their order and/or it takes alot of time for them to arrive. This is very annoying and i suppose is off-putting for many gamers. also, the gimmicks like the promotions or guilder program are hard to benefit from.
  14. Cool, congratulations. I'm happy that it helped. Yeah, Hunting Party is a good schemes for Neverborn and a pick that is likely to be good against Ressers. Leave Your Mark with Winged Coppelius is strong, but can be countered relativly easily. Just hope your opponent didn't use Corpse Candles to deny LyM, since they are Peons. So, back to Dreamer: The Bultungin seems very good woth him. I was a fan of Bloodwretches, but they could be even better.
