  1. Yet! I'M wondering what's up with India.... in Sandeep's story, it was Guild controlled, but KE is also mentioned as having it, so that means... the Guild lot a whole lot of space. I assume the KE was already thinking of getting out of Guild yoke, but the Burning Man gave a good opportunity to do so.
  2. Margaret Belle is awesome. So is the King's Hand. I mean... t's not Tyrion Lannister, but I'll take it Also finding the Infiltrators and Field Intelligence pieces interesting... wander what kind of special rules they might have about information gathering?
  3. What I wonder are... model types? We have Titans, and Fireteams, and apparently Commanders are Fireteams.... or part of them?
  4. So, thoughts... 3 Kingdoms make sense, but I can understand not bringing them in at the start. The 4 factions are all unique, and while they can be recognized as from the world of Malifaux, they are not "Malifaux factions blown up into big". Starting with 4 is fine, especially since we don't know how many unit variations there'll be, so I'm not worried about boredom. The Guild showing up would make sense, and I'm fine with it, as I think 1 or 2 crossover factions, or a sampling of units showing up from Malifaux could make sense. Also also (also!) what I'm curious about is... magic. The Gibbering Gupps come from Malifaux, so possess magic from there, the Cult gets it through portals, Abyssina has a secret stockpile (Am I the only one who thinks of Wakanda when it comes to those guys? :P) and the King's guys don't seem to have too much. So, I'm curious if we're going Earth allegiances with a theme on magic. If 3K show up, they have their own Breach, and Guild could work.... hell Guild could be Malifaux allegiance Oh, and finally.... looking forward to how things change in Malifaux in relation to this. Also, Penny Dreadful with Burning Man in it
  5. To be honest I was expecting more.... burning in the Cult of Burning Man
  6. Hm, Gibbering Hordes, King's Empire and Abyssina for me, so far. Kinda waiting for 3 Kingdoms, and perhaps some other European power to show up? Like the Gibbering Hordes from the waters of Malifaux, an area where we haven't spent much time in Malifaux or TTB. I'm wondering what other Malifaux-like factions could show up.... dare I hope for Gremlins?!
  7. Ah, I'll be honest, I haven't really read most of the stories in M2E up until Ripples of Fate, and only came onboard with 2nd ed. From the core, she seemed like someone who believes ends justify the means, with the end being some kind of communist utopia or something like that, so I missed Mei's stuff. Comparedly I found Brewie to be mostly a pawn, until Ripples of Fate, where he seems to be rebelling in some ways.
  8. The Ten Thunders are far from a singular entity, though they do proclaim to have a common goal. On the one hand, you have Misaki and Yan Lo, who both come from prominent ancient families and are the actual leadership of the organziation or close to it, as the Oyabun seems to be the real leader here. They have differing ideas about how to do that, but they are concerned about the 10T mainly, and I think the 3 Kingdoms are in the background for them. Brewmaster and Mei are both beholden to the 10T, but they are more concerned with the people under them. Actually, I think they are the most heroic of the bunch, with both looking for ways to rebel against the 10T. Asami is trying to use the 10T to find a way to get rid of her condition, but is being used by the 10T as muscle. I wouldn't say she is heroic exactly, but far from the worst of the bunch. Lynch and McCabe seem to be just pawns to be used in the grand scheme of things, especially Lynch. McCabe is doing his best to make the situation work for him. I'm honestly unsure about Shenlong.
  9. I hink it was in Nythera, where out of the 4 choices, he was the Sorcerer if I recall correctly. Need to doublecheck though.... damn, can't find past events. Why noooooooot, I know it was there somewhere on the website
  10. Since Marlow should be the Sorcerer-General, I'd like him to take on magic, but differently than witch-burning Sonnia. I think him getting bonuses to using Sanctioned Spellcasters would be one possibility, perhaps adding a + to their duels if made out of activation or something. He could be Academic, Guardsman, and I'm thinking magic-wise he could either use Light magic, blinding people and lasers and stuff, or focus more on buffing and bodily stuff. Something to do with the Thalarian discipline. I can also see him getting some Gamin minions perhaps.
  11. Some more kin... I was actually thinking some kin who are copying arcanist gunslingers could work. I don't have Into the Bayou yet (waiting on the PDF) but the Bokor seems interesting, so something from there would work. Giant Swampfiend Beast Wasps who poison people. This is Malifaux, where are my general giant bugs?! A human or Gremlins henchman who is a student of the Fermented River and can give some kind of bonuses to other Gremlins in relation to that?
  12. I reaaaaaaaaaly like the idea of a Trickster Ancestor here The child is also fun.... Gravitron Bear!
  13. Hm, out of curiosity, what do we think of Field Reporters? Not sure if they have any specific synergy with Guild Lucius, but I just like the idea of the Secretary beign followed by a cadre reporters who will write what he tells them to write.
  14. Graves and Tannen also have the Mimic Characteristic, so I assume they have abilities that allow them to take humanoid shapes. As for Lilith, she has magical powers that are unlike the magic that other Nephilim (Nekima, Shaman, Scion) are using, so I think her apperance might be related to that, instead of something that all Nephilim have innately.
  15. How about a Black Sheep and Lost Blossom 10T model? Had an idea for errant sons and daughters of the noble samurai, who have gone down the wrong path from the Three Kingdoms, and ended up as pawns for the Ten Thunders. Hell, you can throw Darkened and Brilliance in there if they became addicted to the stuff in Malifaux. Not sure what would be good stats for them though.
  16. Ah thanks.... to be honest, this is the first book where I read all the fictions, so my bad on that one. Thank you for the recap!
  17. Speaking of Nythera... I didn't take part, and am totally lost on what the Gov-General did and why. Is there any info/fiction floating around to explain that? Onto the stories... Guild: I really liked this one. Nellie started off as a strong one-note.... which is what most Masters are in Malifaux, so no problem. Her jovialness without madness was a nice ray of sunshine in the Guild, and I really warmed up to Allison as well, she wasn't my favorite when I first saw her. I wonder why is Nellie so anti-Union. I also like the subltleties that show up later... Nellie likes to think she's in it for the truth, but she's in it to stick it to the Union, and is not immune to corruption. Still, she's mostly nice, so that works! Ressers: Another interesting fic. I like the idea of Reva who's magic allows her to guide the dead after death and to inspire loyalty.... Professor X in the house! It wasn't a bad fic, and I appreciated Victor's PoV. Arcanists: really liked this one.... Sandeep hiring a bunch of arcanists to do Ocean's 11! Sandeep was fun, a flawed character, who wants to do good, but will go dirty when he needs to. Banasuva was pretty rad when he showed up as well. Neverborn: this was good as well, especially with Lucius showing up, and Lillithand Pandora. It wasn't my fave of the bunch, but it was good. Outcast: this might be my favorite, mostly because it reminds me of leverage/shadowrun. Competent people doing competent stuff. I like Parker as well, yeah, he's not outstanding, but I do like him to join the more normal bunch of Outcasts. Gremlin: Zipp is awesome. Nuff said. The First Mate is different than what I expeted but he's a very fun addition. Also, Earl realizing that he should be frightened.... yay Zipp reminds me a bit of Wong to be honest... has special skills, but might have trouble actually leading people. Still, the First Mate (mostly) listens to him! 10T: Wow, the Arcanists are really trying to show up the guild in terms of thuggisness, aren't they? Wonder what they wanted with the stone.... overall a decent story, Asami is sympathetic, especially considering her backstory.... wonder whether she'll team up with Yan Lo or not. Main story: I like Hoffman so that was a good story.... especially him taking action.
  18. The Child seems pretty fun in the second round, the Trickster as well!
  19. Hi all. I have Into the Steam already, and I am looking at either Quarantine or Bayou as my next purchase. Unfortunately, I'm not in a position to buy both, so I'd like to ask for some input on the content of these. I have the general idea (UQ is for Resser and Undead stuff, while IB is for Gremlins), but I a more interested in the 'fluff' parts of it. Into the Steam had awesome parts on factions and locations and people, and I'm hoping there's something similar in the other books as well. Could someone give me examples what kind of details can be found on the culture of Malifaux and other neat tidbits in these books?
  20. I'd say we could at least have a Monk pursuit, which branches off into High/Low/Wandering/Fermented at least. Also, perhaps one Advanced/Basic Pursuit per Infiltration could be interesting, though Torakage is already Lost Blossom, and not sure about Sin-Eater from UQ. Something about Oni summoning could be there at least, and perhaps a samurai pursuit?
  21. Not sure where I read it, but I think someone mentioned that Outcast stuff will be scattered through the books, as there isn't really a core theme to the Outcasts besides "they're not with anyone". Hoping we'll see a TT book though, as I can't see a better option to see stuff about Oni.
  22. Out of curiosity, do Obisidan Oni explode when Flicker countdown goes to zero? Unsure about the exact wording, but depending on that, Obs. Oni could be disgusting shock troppers... decent damage, then explode, maybe even heal another non-Flicker model while they're at it. Good at both range and melee, and destroying it takes some effort.
  23. And can we ask for some Pursuit teases? Not necessarily a preview, but perhaps the name of your favorite one?
  24. As someone whose finances are not lining up just yet, could perhaps someone share the pursuits that are in the book, out of curiosity?
  25. PDF will probably follow a bit later, maybe even a month. Wyrd likes to allow physical stores a bit of a headstart on the TTB (and possibly Malifaux) books.
