Just wanted to thank you again Hateful Darkblack, Malal, Math Mathonwy and Brewmaster. I just ordered Zoraida Starter Box and with it a box of Waldgeists, as you recommended. I got really pumped by Agent of the Breach's Starting with Neverborn. (Working on Zoraida) topic, so I can't wait to paint them. And play them of course. But, being a slow painter, it will not be anytime soon.

At the moment I am greatly influenced by the fact, that tomorrow I will be ordering The Swamp Hag - Zoraida Starter Box and Walgeist, and that I have been reading a lot about Zoraida lately. Neverborn - It was a battle between Spawn Mother and Widow Weaver. I love Widow Weaver's concept art, but I will have to go with Spawn mother, that I am planning on buying, when it comes out. Gremlins - Again, McTavish versus Sammy LaCroix. I will probably buy both to play Zoraida in Gremlins faction, but if I had to choose only one, it would be McTavish. Most posts I have been reading about Zoraida were praising him, how good he is with Swampfiend models. I don't have much knowledge about other factions, so I was choosing just by the concept art I have seen. Outcasts - Eh... this was hard. Sue has guitar (I am a beginner guitar player), but Rat King is a bunch of rats in a cloak, can't resist that. Rat King. Ressurectionist - Crooligan Ten Thunders - Fremented River Monk Arcanists - Mechanical Rider, because it looks cool and costs 12 SS and I want to see what 12 SS model can do. Guild - Abuela Ortega. Well... LOL.

It is going to be my first wargaming tournament ever, so I am already visibly excited. Only 25 days to go! It is a fixed master tournament and I will be playing Ophelia LaCroix. "Shoot everything that moves and drink cocoa", that's my strategy. There is a lot of masters, that I have never faced, but they seem like fun ones to play against. Namely Ulix and Dreamer.

Would you kindly share, how did you paint Zoraida's skin? I would be most grateful

The thing is, that I have played only four games of Malifaux so far and I have zero experience with Zoraida. That is why I do not see further than Pigcharge/Roostercharge being 1 AP, because that was the only thing mentioned, when people were discussing Pigs with Gremraida. I even had to look up what Make Them Suffer is about You are right. To me it just feels out of place, a witch and a nurse. I am currently at the start of Malifaux - Rising Powers and I will probably change my mind, when I will know more about Zoraida or when I will start to play more competitively. At the moment I just tend to purchase models that in my opinion look cool and fun. I like Waldgeist models, but I would hate to purchase something, that would later just sit in the box. Malal, do you like to play Waldgeists with Gremraida?

Hi, I intend to purchase The Swamp Hag - Zoraida Box Set and play her in Gremlins faction. I would like to ask you for help. So far I own theese models: Ophelia LaCroix Young LaCroix (3) Francois LaCroix Raphael LaCroix Rami LaCroix Pere Ravage Slop Hauler (2) The Swamp Hag contains: Zoraida Voodoo Doll Bad Juju Silurid (3) And in the future I would like to purchase: Sammy LaCroix McTavish (and maybe some Bayou Gators) Rooster Riders and Bayou Gremlins (in the far future) I like to play to theme, so I do not plan on purchasing models like Nurse. Or pigs. I got the impression that reason why Pigs are so good with Zoraida is their (1) Charge (via Pigcharge Ability) and I would rather wait for Rooster Riders (with their Roostercharge Ability), whose concept art I like much more. My qeustion is, will I have use for Waldgeists? I have been reading about Zoraida on PullMyFinger Wiki, Wyrd Forum and even some blogs and a lot of people said, that Waldgeists are amazing. But the problem is, people were almost allways talking about Neverborn faction. The box contains 3 models, 6 Soulstones each. Or... should I purchase Waldgeists and play Zoraida in Neverborn and wait for models like Sammy LaCroix and McTavish to play her in Gremlins faction? Thank you

You have probably mistaken it for the second paragraph in Reactivate (Malifaux 2E - Rules Manual, page 62): A model may not benefit from the Reactivate Condition more than once per Turn, even if it lost the Reactivate Condition and then gained it again.

Malifaux 2E - Rules Manual - page 61 - Conditions Conditions presented without a value in their name do not stack, and a model that would get a second instance of a Condition simply ignores it (the second instance is not applied).

A model is killed by an Action performed by a friendly model and controlled by an enemy model's controller. According to FAQ it is the enemy who killed the model. Does it mean then, that Francois LaCroix would be attacked by a friendly Attack Action, but killed by an enemy Action (Obey)?

No, my question was, if such Action is considered friendly because it is performed by a friendly model or enemy because it is controlled by an enemy model's controller.

I am aware of the fact that Obey doesn't change alignment of models, but this got me confused: Malifaux Second Edition FAQ 1-01-15 Q: If a model is killed by an Ability or Action, which Crew counts as having made the kill? A: When a model is killed as the result of an Action, the Crew controlling the Action counts as having made the kill. If a model is killed by an Ability, the model with the Ability counts as having made the kill.

Is Obeyed Attack Action considered enemy - it is controlled by an enemy model's controller or friendly - it is performed by a friendly model Example: Francois LaCroix has "Squeel!" Ability. Df ( ) "Squeel!": After this model is damaged by an enemy Ml Attack Action, push this model 4" away from the Attacker. Things that I have changed: Inner parts of ears - Painted in flesh colour. Rust on steel barrel - I started with black, than I used brown and progressively brighter orange. Dirt on trousers - I dipped toothbrush into diluted brown colour, sprayed it few times on a paper and when I was satisfied with the effect I applied it on miniature. Slop - I don't own any technical paint, that would make the slop look slimy, like Citadel Technical 'Ardcoat, so I used one of those white glues that dry clear but leave shiny surface. The execution is far from ideal But I think that he looks better now. Some of the (main) issues still remain - things like colour of the steel barrel, or shades beeing not dark enough... and as I already said, I will keep them in mind next time Also... please don't mind that terrible gap between his shouler and torso

Thank you, KMDL1066 and Omenbringer Some things that have been suggested here, would require me to repaint the whole model (like darker shades) and I must be honest, I am not planning to do so. But all your suggestions are invaluable to me and I will definitely keep them in mind when painting my next models. So, once again, thank you everyone I can't stress enough how helpful this all is to a beginner painter. I have already painted his ears differently - I used slightly dakrer tone of human flesh for inner part of ears, so they don't merge with the face so much. Next thing I am planning to do is to apply some rust as you guys suggested. I will probably just try to use orange colour to imitate rust, because I don't think, that I would find much use for the whole pot of rusty colour. And I will also "dirty up" his pants. The problem is, that I haven't found a lot of information about some upgrades. I would like to ask you, if you would be so nice and help me with them. Here is the list of models, that I own: Ophelia LaCroix Young LaCroix (3) Francois LaCroix Raphael LaCroix Rami LaCroix Pere Ravage Slop Hauler (2) The Guardian Stone Cost: 1 SS ► This model gains the follow Ability: Echo of Souls: When this model is targeted by an Action it may spend a Soulstone and flip a card to increase its Df and Wp for the remainder of the duel. If a 0-5 is flipped the model gains +1, if a 6-10 is flipped the model gains +2, if an 11 to 14 is flipped the model gains +3. This may not increase the model’s Df or Wp above 8. ► This model gains the following Tactical Action: (0) Moment of Insight: This model may discard this Upgrade to push up to 4” in any direction. Restrictions: Leader When do you, if ever, take this upgrade? It costs 1 SS to purchase, it occupies your Leader's upgrade slot and you have to pay additional SS for every duel you want to enhance by Echo of Souls. An average gain to Df and Wp is 1,83 for a Leader that has 5 Df and 5 Wp. Dirty Cheater on Raphael LaCroix is in my opinion an autoinclude thanks to Hard to Kill and Fueled by Panic. Francois LaCroix is usually in the thick of things (Sorry, if I used that term wrong.) so Dirty Cheater seems like a great upgrade for him and I use Stilts to mitigate damage from his automatic Dumb Luck trigger on (1) Dueling Sword. Models left are: Ophelia LaCroix Rami LaCroix When do you use this Upgrade? Is it with Somm'er's Summoning Factory Inc. or is it any particular Strategy or Scheme or... Team Work Cost: 1 SS ► This model gains the following Ability: Gimme a Boost: Friendly Gremlin models in base contact with this model are treated as Ht 2 when drawing LoS to targets. ► This model gains the following Tactical Action: (1) The Real Lacroix: Place this model in base contact with target enemy model within 6” that is engaged with a friendly Gremlin model. Then, push one friendly Gremlin model engaged with the target model up to 6” directly away from the target model.
