  1. Sorry to do this but having to bail out of this event. Personal family stuff. :-(
  2. Who cares about that? I wanna know what the spoon looks like! Just saying.
  3. Ok so it looks like Carmela is still not confident enough to play in an environment where she has to play quickly and needing prompting etc. So I will be taking her place and she can observe and be my photo monkey for the day The main problem has been life getting in the way of our dream of playing regular home games to get her up to speed with the rules and her crew. She loves the game, the models and the fluff but she just feels it is too early for her to dive in at the deep end. I hope that if we can get our regular games in then we will both be able to enter a couple of events next year. For now, looking forward to Haul of Eggs 3 see you guys in a couple of weeks time. Oh gonna stick with Seamus (Sheena) Michael
  4. Had a great time, well apart from being bloody freezing. All my opponents were fun and did not take things too seriously, which is probably a benefit to being in the bottom half of the draw. I even won a game which is always nice. Might have got a different result in game one had we managed to play more than two turns but it was a case of both of us being a bit slow. Learnt a bit more about Seamus and his minions so I can pass that on to Carmela and with luck the painters and decorators wont be in for Haul of Eggs and she will feel up to playing. Thanks to David and all involved. Michael
  5. Need to get my finger out and finish Carmela's crew and counters. Still waiting for a Bete Noire to arrive in the mail. Might have to chase that up come to think of it. Need to assemble it and get painted, let along try to see how she works before committing to adding her to the pool. Speaking of which, when do we need to declare our models and upgrades we are using to make up the 60ss? Michael
  6. Yeh was not sure if the stories in 1 and 1.5 were identical but was thinking that. Cheers for the confirmation at any rate. I have just read the Grey Lord story last night while in the bath (too much information) so that at least is fresh in my mind. It was 'theres something about Molly' that prompted me to purchase the model for my wife.
  7. Both you guys are awesome. I am sending internet cookies to your computers as I type. I shall print off the chronicles articles and bookmark her some pages in the books. Once again thanks and if anybody knows of any more keep the coming. Anything from book 1?
  8. Ok so this might take some effort to explain. I am getting my wife into Malifaux and she is gradually picking up the rules and is enjoying using Seamus. She is not that fussed (yet) about reading all the background. But would like to read each of the stories that feature Seamus to get a feel for him. I also got her a Molly model so the same goes for her background. Sure she can check the pull my finger for a potted history but the stories are great and I am sure she would enjoy them and add to her gaming experience. So the question is has anyone compiled a list of what stories the various characters feature in through all the published books and chronicals? Obviously a long shot but worth a try. Would be a nightmare for me to read all the fluff from book one again just to point out to her what she should read, because I am such a slow reader. Even if no such database exists if any of you know a story either molly or Seamus feature in and can reference the book and page number that would be very much appreciated. Thanks Michael
  9. Have paid up and entered my wife with her Sheena (read Seamus) crew. With luck she will be a little more confident with the rules after some practice games and Lost Love 3. I think this shorter format will suit her better. Bit concerned that 4 games (at LL3) will see her brain fried. But at least entering two events she could double my Spoon haul. Michael
  10. Ticket purchased. Bought in my name (M Nicholls) but entry will be for my wife (with my assistance) Carmela Nicholls. And if her brain explodes by the end of the day I guess I will take over from her. Better get her some practice.
  11. Will be entering this one Well my wife is and I will be assisting her not that I know what the $uck I am doing. Will buy our ticket when I get paid next week. If nothing else she can aim for the spoon. From what she has painted at the moment she can do the 45ss for the games but leaves her nothing in the pool to switch things up. Not that that would achieve anything other than confuse us both even more. I have time to maybe get her one more model and paint it in time but thats about it. Need to read the rules pack and start making counters and markers. Carmela will be using a Seamus crew but Seamus is replaced by a female model called Sheena. We hope we can learn a lot during the day and not feel too burned out or bummed out by the end of it. I attended the first lost Love and had a good time but that was AGES ago. My only request is, can we (meaning all of us) please have a little extra space between playing areas? My wifes eyesight is not all that so I have enlarged the stat cards so she stands a chance of reading them but obviously they now take up a bit more space on the table. So if there is maybe 6" between the playing areas as well as the bit along our table edge that would be perfect. I appreciate a request by one person does not hold much weight but like mother used to say, "If you don't as you don't get". Come to think of it she also used to say "If I ask I won't get". No wonder my brain is too fried to remember the rules of this game! Michael
  12. You are indeed correct. Sad news. I just bought my stat cards and was looking forward to learning the new rules. I totally understand that an event can not go on if there is a lack of confirmation/commitment from players. I guess there will be a period of time before everyone gets the new cards and rules especially if traders are having difficulty getting these items in to sell. I will keep an eye out for you next event as I enjoyed the couple I did this year (or was it already last year?) I will just have to try and get some sensible (non power gamer) practice games at TTN to get up to speed. Better luck with the next one Michael
  13. Top tips thanks. I hope to order these models in the next week or so. At least now I have a managable shopping list.
  14. wow I am not thinking if the turn out is low then last place will be a higher position than I have finished before. So it's looking increasingly more likely I will attend. The final thing that needs to happen is I am waiting for a car to sell to finally get my finances back on track. If that happens before this event I will be a 100% YES Can tickets be bought on the day in case I end up cutting it a bit fine or can I literally do it a day or two before the date? Thanks
  15. Ok so that sounds like good news. She might have a change of heart about running just 1 master once she starts to get into the game and enjoys the mechanic of selecting the best combination of models to achieve your goals. I think for now I will just buy the new plastic seamus box to get the belles and stuff and then buy the molly blister while we wait for the plastic Molly to go on sale. Any suggestions of a suitable totem to get while I am at it? Thanks Michael
