  1. Those are some nice models you have there! Particularly like the reporters and Mah crew.
  2. Here's my Zomboys, guess they're Rabble Risers now? That'd make them 18SS. Actually finished them like a week ago, but been a bit distracted. Wishing you all well!
  3. My pledge is some of the Nico crew I started yesterday. Most likely the three zomboys sloppily indicated with arrows. Seems to make sense to batch paint them.
  4. Leap Day Bonus Model!! Started and finished this guy today. Thought the OSL would make it quicker for some bizarre reason. Couldn't think of any way of doing Nico other than Reanimator themed though. Puts me up at 35 SS for the month I think @Caedrus? And of course I couldn't get in focus shots showing off the lighting because phone cameras don't like that sort of thing.
  5. My output for February: some grim-ish, dark-ish scatter terrain. We'll call it 4 pieces for 20 SS @Caedrus
  6. @Pastori - very tidy. Nice work. @Polar43 - lady is shaping is beautifully. Looking forward to seeing the finished model.
  7. @Polar43 - Loving the masks on those lads. Think I'd add more mid-tone in the skirt on the lower one, then pick out the frayed bits real quick and call it a day.
  8. @PetitDalek - the metals on those guys look fantastic. Great work.
  9. Looks great. Really like the detail on the severed heads. How did you do the base?
  10. @Harlekin - Great work on the Lost. Really gritty and thematic feel to them. @Stranglelove - Horrific. Good job. @Wintergloom - Nice colour theming on the Nightmares. Really nice scheme and does a great job of tying the models together without looking like they're in uniform. Also, custom web markers FTW. @Pastori - Love those bases on the Investigators.
  11. Finished off Avatar Raspy for 9-10 SS depending on what you want to count her as. Had some fun trying out snow and ice effects, but think I should probably look for materials outside of my kitchen! Got a little slideshow of her here too. https://imgur.com/a/hxMcFfm
  12. @Caedrus-minion is perfect for me, thanks. Taking it super easy this year. 😉
  13. Also good for preventing floating foot syndrome. Great looking bases by the way.
  14. For this month I'm pledging to finish the counts-as Snowstorm I started last... decade. Current progress

  17. This thread is inspired by this thread by Caedrus which inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and improve my painting on several occasions. The idea is to see how many of the challenges below you've achieved and push yourself to complete more when painting in future. You could also use a random number generator to pick a few for a bit of a fun painting project. I'm afraid I wasn't able to come up with the full 100 challenges to complete the list but if anyone has any suggestions I'd be glad to add them on!
  18. This is my favourite alternate take on Perdita 😀. Not that the dia de los muertos crew isn't absolutely fabulous.
  19. I think you can be very proud of your efforts for the year. If you're looking for more area covered then maybe take up painting walls. 🙂
  20. Nah, it had just been sitting on a dusty shelf that long that some if the locals took up residence. 😉
  21. Happy Christmas everyone. Finished up my building for we'll say 20 ss. Put a lot more hours into it than I should have, but it was a learning experience.
  22. I agree with @Wintergloom on the terrain pricing, although I think it should be based purely on size. The level of detail/effort put into models we put into models doesn't affect their SS value and I think it's best to keep it that way for all projects. Also, great reference pictures.
  23. I've had all sorts of problems with spray on varnish so now only paint it on or airbrush. I got a big bottle of Windsor and Newton matte varnish at an art store years ago. If you use a massive brush it's practically as fast as a spray can. Initially I had problems with it being glossy when applied like normal paint, but slawming it on with a make-up brush seems to solve that. Otherwise I hear autobody varnish is good spraycan-wise but still not totally reliable.
