Proxied models are not legal for official Wyrd events. Other events will depend on the person running them. Photocopied and printed cards are 100% acceptable. However the generalist upgrade deck is only $17ish (cheaper than the books they appear in). Also if you only play 1 or 2 factions you can split the deck with a buddy to make it even cheaper.

I will 2nd checking out the 2 player starter set. Comes with 2 fate decks, two tape measures, and 8 models (split into 2 4 man crews). Half are Guild, half are Neverborn, but all have the Mercenary characteristic, which will allow you to use them in whatever faction you decided on (provided you like the game enough to go that far). The set also has a series of missions that will gradually introduce you to various game mechanics.

Perdita let Sonnia live because Sonia is her friend. She went out of her way to help her overcome her possession. I also don't think that most humans (including Perdita) fully understand the Tyrants, what they are, and what they are capable of. Shenlong is merged with one of the Dragons. This is 100% confirmed and Shenlong even has the "Tyrant" keyword to back it up, something the sisters lack. Their dragon moves and named as such simply for flavor. It might be possible that one of the Viks is the 2nd Dragon, only because we have no solid info on it and it could literally be anyone or anything at this point. I think its far more likely that this "Black Dragon" from Into the Bayou is the 2nd Dragon though. We also know that Shez'uul is one of the Tyrants and is sealed with the Masamune.

As long as its not and official event and as long as your playgroup is okay with it. Otherwise, you would have to get the old Avatar model, a spare 50mm base (to put Leveticus on top of), or the Outcast Emissary. The Emissaries may officially be used as the actual Emissaries, or as proxies for their factions avatars (so you would need 2 if you wanted to run the actual Emissary and use one as an avatar at the same time).

There will be no new avatar models as avatars are no longer part of the core game. They proved to be pretty much impossible to both balance and remain thematic, at the same time, for regular gameplay. This is largely the reason the new Emissaries exist (Hodgepodge Emissary would fall under Leveticus, as well as every other Outcast Master). The avatars are still around for Campaign play from Shifting Loyalties, but there is no plans for any models (it would be financially suicidal). There is also fluff behind the disappearance of the avatars as well.

The bestiary is actually one of my favorite things about Into the Steam (and Under Quarantine). Its written as a personal journal that lays out a story as you read through it. I love flavorful things like that.

When you get around to getting Teddy, he and Graves will be BFFs. Graves, and a Doppelganger can get Teddy into melee turn 1 if you wish. Speaking of which, Doppelgangers are amazing.

Is that ghost Volgan? Have not played 5 yet, but that looks alot like Volgan.

There is some new Jack stuff in Ripples. Apparently The Burning Man (the essence of the Governor Generals ascension speculated to have merged with Cherufe) is drawn to him.

Yin is stupidly annoying to remove. Terrifying all plus negative to attack and damage flips before cover is factored in. Her action gives a tremendous buff to any WP attacks and horror, which Molly likes to use. Sensei Yu also has similar interactions with Yan Los upgrades. In a Yan Lo crew, Yu can use Ascend and attach Yan Los upgrades, provided he himself has chi, even if Yan Lo already has those upgrades. Sensei Yu creates some interesting scenarios, that's for sure.

For the chains on my drowned, I started with a brighter silver (I think mythril) then hit them with red and black washes until I was satisfied with the color.

I would suspect that this rider will at least be an enforcer. In that case, Asami will not be able to summon it.

Same reason the riders, and lone marshal are in that price range. All the Emissaries are large centerpiece models, and all are $40. If it was something that people would likely buy multiple of, it would probably be cheaper. As it is huge and unique, most players who get any of them will only buy one, and only for the faction they most often play. Molds are REALLY expensive and have to be paid for.

Running him Neverborn gives him access to the Doppelganger and stuff like Teddy. Running him 10T gives you Katanaka Snipers, Samurai, and Toshiro. Lynch, Beckoners, Illuminated, Depleted, and Hungering Darkness are everything that apply brilliance. You don't even need to necessarily run a Lynch crew to get mileage out of Brilliance. I one time ran a Shenlong crew with an Illuminated and Toshiro. I had a peasant give the Illuminated a focus. Then had Toshiro cast fast on the Illuminated. Then had the Illuminated use his ranged attack to give a target Brilliance (I think it was the Mechanical Rider), spending the focus in the process. Then he focused as a 0, then he charged the Brillianced model and ended it with his beefed up damage track and 2nd focus.

Reva has my favorite mechanics. I think Titanias box looks best. But, I am most excited for Asami. I have been hoping for an Oni master since wave 2.

While not the official Wyrd bases, Micro Arts Studio and Cool Mini or Not teamed up to make some base inserts a couple years ago. They have them in 30, 40, and 50mm. They look great. They have tons of styles to choose from. And they are cheap (unless you need alot of 50s, because you can only get them as resin singles, or packed with plastic 40s).
