  1. That doesn't seem right. It's not built in, and I don't recall anything like Soulstones to add suits. So, he wouldn't be able to get multiple Tomes. Unless I'm missing something here.
  2. I'm curious, have Gremlins crossed the Breach to Earthside? I mean, officially.
  3. I think you be required play them if that was the case.
  4. I think a good idea would be something like "remove 2 shaken token with 2 inches of this unit" or something. I think removing enemy Shaken Tokens could work out and serve as a cost as you're using the Token to Glory rather than gaining the benefits from them.
  5. Trying to gather all the fluff for the Cult of the Burning Man. If someone knows something I missed, feel free to let me know. Also, feel free theorize. As you will see, I am doing a lot of that. I'm going to break it down by units. Adeddatos: He was apparently at the Battle of London. Fenton Brahms: Probably a cult leader. Horomatangi: Feeds off of magic energy and went dormant. The Burning Man woke him up. He may or may not be connected The Gibbering Horde prior to the breaches opening up. Immolated Rhino: His name is Cinnamon. He's a victim of unfortunate circumstance. He is a cuddler. Breachling: I'm guessing is something that has slipped through what lies between the Breach. When it makes mistakes, it makes them Gloriously. Goryshche: Not really anything known, but the name is taken from a Russian fairy tale. The story I found, had a hero killing her young and almost slaying her by cutting off all but one head. Then, they made a deal to basically go their own way and not bother each other. She betrayed the deal because she was still outraged over her dead young. The hero then went back on his word figuring the deal was no good since she broke it. In the end, he killed her. The Broken: They are the people are touched the Burning Man. The magical energies of the Burning Man have not yet "settled" into the person. Twisted Horrors: They are the Broken who failed to control the magical energies and were consumed by them. The Warped: The Broken who were able to control that energies and took control of the magic. Doomseekers: Honestly, they look like they might be followers of the Burning Man who follow through faith rather than being touched by his magic. ECB Black Ops: A madman was locked up by the British government. When his raving became true, they called in the Extraordinary Cases Bureau to study him and the (presumably) later the Cult of the Burning Man. My question is, are they there to study the man(wo)men or have they gone native? Stalking Portals: I'm guessing things similar to the Breachling, but they aren't strong enough to make it through. Raving Madman: The name says it all.
  6. Little Known Fact: Buddhist demons were the ancestors of modern Internet Trolls.
  7. If left to the TO, I think I will judge on a case by case basis on whether I'd allow unremoveable bases. Depends on how easy it would be for your opponent to tell the damage. Just my two cents.
  8. There's been talk about Titans on the Kickstarter page, and Aaron has said that playtesting has shown that Companies with multiple Titans, a single Titan, and no Titans are all doable. As for what Faction, join the Cult of the Burning Man. Do it for the Governor-General!
  9. Yeah. I am getting the Cult through the Kickstarter. When it's released, I'll probably get one of the human factions so I can demo (slight favor to Abyssinia, though I am still intrigued about some of the King's Empire's mechanics). And while I'll probably not get the dual commander due to cost, I'll pick him up from my LGS. And of course, it'd be silly to not get a few squads for him to play with. And once I have those, it will only be a matter of time before I figure, I might as well start playing the faction. And I'm sure by then, I will figure might as well get X as well until I get them all. It will be slower than be getting all the Factions in Malifaux due to price, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually.
  10. I'm in the same boat. I've messed up or ruined a number of models trying to assemble them. I sympathize with hobbyists, but love the idea of no assembly.
  11. A little of subject, but Lindsey mentioned in the Comments section that the Breach is in Santa Fe. Pretty sure that's new information.
  12. Maybe not itself would work, but what about the other fireteams in their squad? Now, I'm curious about this.....
  13. Yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of our Titan, but she's growing on me (especially after reading the myth). Maybe, we'll get her young as a squad sometime in the future. I'm in the air about our Glory mechanic. It seems we have the worse by far. The King's Empire gets Gloried by succeeding in something. OK. No penalty, but a challenge. The Gibbering Hordes and the Abssinians take a penalty, but can choose at any time they are willing to make the sacrifice. Us on the other hand, we have to take a penalty and give the opponent some control over it. It does give our opponent some pause to penalize our un-Gloried squads. But if we can't get 2 Shaken Tokens on our guys right away, the opponent can just use them (even if they are on an unimportant action) just to get rid of them. So, our efforts can easily be wasted while the other factions that take a penalty cannot. Of course, if we wind up producing a ton of Shaken Tokens on our own guys, it might be a problem. Guess, we'll find out during playtest.
  14. Well, the Kickstarter has pictures of the Commanders we get if the $225K Stretch Goal is made, The Frenzy is listed 1 out of 3 as opposed to the others who are presumably one models.
  15. I am confused at why the fish people have flying monsters though....
  16. So..... I kinda fell yesterday and I was going down, my knee hit the side of my painting table knocking Lucius off under the the rest of my body. He did not survive this. I really hate the idea of purchasing his box only for him. Luckily, I am pretty sure one of the LGS has his metal box. Getting a few models I don't have helps take the sting out of this. My question is who is the Guild Guard Captain? Would this be considered Dashel or a Guild Sergeant? If it's Dashel, it makes it less appealing. If it's the sergeant, it pretty much guarantees that I'll go for the metals since I'll get more use of it. Related question:Would one Guild Sergeant be fine? Or is it one of those models that work best taking multiples of?
  17. I run the Crossroads Seven as a Crew all the time. They work pretty well and if I have the points after I decide what I'm going to take, I'll at least consider taking the in-Faction member.
  18. Of the Malifaux factions, only the Guild makes sense for crossover. While I don't want to see all these become factions at least right away for fear of Faction bloat), I think the following would be cool. The Undying Czar or Necromancer Spain (Possible Malifaux Faction as the Grave Spirit might be able to reach through the portals to influence them) Three Kingdoms and/or Oni (Possible Malifaux Faction if Oni [Oni seem to originate from Earth, but Malifaux makes them more real, plus I'm guessing Malifaux is a catch-all for non-human]) Middle East (Human Faction) South American (Human Faction) I expect we'll see at least once nation fall entirely to a Malifaux faction. Probably a new one with the barest connection to the Malifaux game.
  19. BTW: Any chance we can get the build instructions for any of the pre-release models soon?
  20. Yeah, just for clarification, I think my theory is right, but it's just a theory. There could be a ton of different explanations (including just random Breaches). We don't have a lot of information for The Other Side, so I'm just throwing out some ideas.
  21. The sea is very large argument doesn't necessarily work since we don't know that the Gibbering Horde covers the entirety of the ocean. So, regardless of the size of the ocean the chances are no greater that they would get their own Breach as some random, uninhabited part of the sea. And yeah, the Ten Thunders have their own Breach, but Breaches besides the main one and the Ten Thunders' Breach - which, now that I think about it, may not be entirely random, they do have their own Tyrant after all - tend to be random and short lived. I admit, it could be entirely random. But we're dealing with the followers of a Tyrant that got their own breach(es) at the same time that all Tyrants were affected by a man fusing with one of their own and tearing through the barrier to become some of.... well, not quite sure what he is. The idea that an intelligent force behind them seems likely to me.
  22. Ha. I lost my soul a long time ago. I think I gave it away for a candy bar. Totally worth it.
  23. Yeah, but randomly opening Breaches at the bottom of the sea seems kinda random. Why not in Malifaux? Or the other side of the world? Why is it that forces tied to a Tyrant are there to benefit and not some random group? Seems a little too perfect to be random. So, I think there is an intelligent force behind that. That being said, maybe Meridian is still entrapped and s/he is causing the Breaches?
