  1. For published adventures, we generally just use the setup for the adventure as the Prologue. Honor Among Thieves, for instance, is a Ten Thunders heist adventure. In the Prologue, the PCs are brought to a tea house, served tea, and then told that there is an object that the Ten Thunders would like for them to steal. If they do so, they'll either gain money, standing, or have some of their debts to the organization forgiven. The PCs can interact and talk with the Ten Thunders, asking questions as necessary, but there's no card flipping. That ends the prologue, and players can choose which pursuits they wish to follow from there. When the story resumes with Act 1, the PCs are still in the tea house and get into the actual details of the heist with the Ten Thunders.
  2. No, you just have to beat both TNs with your casting total. Yup, if there are two suits in the total, then you can get one from the card flip, but the second suit has to come from somewhere else (such as the Specialized Skill Talent).
  3. The spell only summons a Mire Golem, which (much like a Whiskey Golem) isn't a "true" golem. Currently, the only way to summon a true golem is with a Silent One (Into the Steam) that has advanced along all five steps of the Advanced Pursuit. Doing so requires a TN of 17, but that cost also takes into account all the time the character spent advancing as a Silent One and thus is lower than I would recommend if you chose to make the option available to other characters. True golems are pretty hardcore. Note that in order for the Mire Golem to get a turn, its summoner has to use the (1) Order Action, and she has to discard a card to activate the Swamp Flurry Action. Thus, it's more akin to spending 2 AP and a card for three attacks. Those attacks also have to be against the same target. With a (1) Order Action and two discarded cards from its controller, a Mire Golem can potentially take six attacks... but it's not moving that turn, and each set of three attacks has to be against the same target. Mire Golems are really strong, but they're not quite as overpowering as they seem at first glance.
  4. ...and I will attempt to distract Lindsey from this by pointing out a herd of unruly horses while the characters are being written.
  5. I will ensure that one of the characters in the TTB worldwide event is Canadian, just for you.
  6. The upcoming worldwide TTB event is going to be its own beast!
  7. Rowan is the source of the Chemist flavor quote in TTB (where the art originated). That's the only place she's appeared thus far.
  8. Generally speaking, the Viks shouldn't be walking in if they're caught outside their melee range; Ash should be using Dragon's Bite to teleport her and Blood into the battle to murder the long-armed thing that has them at range. Only mentioning it because a lot of people seem to forget that Dragon's Bite / Flight of Dragons are things that the Vikis can throw out there... and that they also pull the student of conflict in with them, if she's nearby.
  9. Character sheets for Under Quarantine and Into the Bayou can now be found in the appropriate link on our Resources page. Or right here: ~ Link ~
  10. Swamp Flurry is correct as a (1) AP Action. Mire Golems are dangerous creatures. In the hands of a PC with the Mud Calling Magia, this is balanced out by the spell having a high TN with two suits required outside the confines of the Bayou. Inscription is a very powerful talent that can drastically increase the power of a spellcaster in a campaign. It being tied to a single Grimoire is essentially a balancing mechanic. You can allow it to be taken multiple times, but doing so might lead to characters with access to a wide variety of Magia in only a handful of sources (or a single, super-powerful Grimoire).
  11. The character sheets are in the rear of the Nythera module.
  12. Mentioned in passing in a few TTB places.
  13. Lazarus is great with Rusty Alyce. Use Abominations for activation control, then near the bottom of the turn, use Burn Out to give Lazarus Reactivate. With two applications of Self-Repair, Lazarus can heal back up pretty quickly, and he puts out a withering amount of firepower.
  14. The TTB book Under Quarantine goes into detail on Titania, the Grave Spirit, and the "death" of the Tyrants. Titania's entry in Nythera also goes into brief detail about it. It's also worth mentioning that Taelor is a somewhat unreliable narrator in that story, as the story implies.
  15. Crawlers *may* have already been mentioned in the Ferryman adventure on the TTB side of things...
  16. I believe that it gets mentioned in the Exorcist description of Under Quarantine for TTB. Honestly, a fair amount of information about Earth and The Other Side has been slowly seeping into Through the Breach for awhile now. For instance, "A Fire in the Sky" is our first Penny Dreadful to take entirely place on Earth...
  17. It's also worth noting that we've got a worldwide TTB campaign that will be launching early next year.
  18. Check out his vignette in Ripples.
  19. There are also some groups that play online. It might be worth asking around in A Wyrd Place on Facebook to see if there are any looking for players. As with most RPGs, it's far easier to get a game together if you're willing to be the GM.
  20. Pursuits cannot be done a second time. Once you're done, it's time to move on to a new Pursuit. You can certainly allow your players to follow a Pursuit multiple times as a house rule, but I'd recommend against it. The Talents were balanced against each other, and there are a few combinations off the top of my head that will probably make a Fated far too powerful if they were allowed to have both.
