  9. Flame wall is hazardous dg 3 Ice Pillar is Hardness 3 Breakable. Does that mean Flame Wall when cast on Ice pillar melts it? It just sounds very logical and dramatic in an awesome way. But is it feasible?
  10. this idea is amazing. such a great wild west feel to it. Well done!
  11. The shallow sculpts look intimidating to paint as a change from metal miniatures where we are used to lots of different depths. I think many of us, like myself initially, are having knee jerk reactions of seeing how plastic details are shallower and therefore appear initially 'less detailed'. It genuinely has not been a problem as long as your not using thick paints, undercoats etc. Once you get to paint it, the details are still there. And like the above, fine detail and scale has improved and these are good features.
  12. Lucas McCabe's Crew - All together now! McCabe's boxed set by itself in a slightly different lighting - minus Luna Comments & Criticism Welcome. Thank you for looking!
  13. And another update tonight! hate painting sprees when you need to work the next day....
  14. This literally blew my mind. excellent work! Its wonderful and creepy neverborn style.
  15. Found it!!! http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?37259-Ramos-and-crew-with-scratchbuilt-bases
  16. Yo Big Ned well done on the realistic color scheme for the Gunsmith! I can definitely see we are aiming for similar styles. Did you undercoat this lady black or white? Lately i've found success with undercoating white (with spray for alot of texture) and then using really watered down paints, everything I paint seems to feel almost like a wash.
  17. This diorama is looking so awesome I am getting artistically sexually aroused... Your example and others are making me really consider going back and making similar bases for every crew i've ever painted thanks for this! ========================== Also, does anyone remember a thread where someone created a highly detailed Ramos arcane laboratory diorama with spiders crawling all over experimental gas chambers and things? Its on this Wyrd Miniature showcase board but cant find it, thanks!!!
  18. Wastrel with Pimpstick and his best mate Sidir Comments and criticisms welcome! Always looking to improve!
  19. Your thread moves on so fast I cant even keep up with just looking at them! Love Collette's colour scheme. And Cassie's dress is also looking great. I almost feel it steals away from her ginger freckles look abit now! primarily the blue/turquoise is the distraction I think. But as a sum of all its parts. the crew is going to look awesome and im sure you've chosen your colours based on what the general feel of the crew.
  20. Lucas McCabe, Master of the Guild Relic Hunters Comments & Criticisms welcome! always looking to improve. Thank you!
  21. I put some Beastial Brown on the palette, then add bits of vomit brown and keep mixing to give that orangey look. I wanted to achieve the light leather cloak. It may be worth trying some bubonic brown in the mix if after vomit brown it doesnt look or feel right. Water that down, and slap it on top of a white spray undercoat. Sorry I couldnt give you a more specific recipe! I advise adding those colours one at a time and abit at a time. Hope you will be happy with yours! And thank you all for the kind comments
  22. Thank you Pixelante! Those are very good points that I have considered whilst painting these. I have always not been that brave about using vibrant colours on places where I could. Thought hard about Sidir's sash as a green or gold/both but I really want him like a grizzled look. Mccabe and the Wastrels are rich boys, so i will be sure to use some brighter colours on their pashmina scarves and suits etc that should do the eye grabbing for the crew as a whole. I'm a sucker for earth tone in general
  23. Hahah yeah absolutely, I get what you mean. what I was really trying to get at was the freckles look perfect on the face and still slightly much on the body, on a second look the frequency of the spots are fine but maybe the tone of the spots can be lighter? On the other hand, you could always paint her dress and see how the whole thing looks. Currently with the dress being just undercoat the eye focuses on the spots too much possibly
  24. The ginger look is an awesome idea and a challenge! Liking how it looks so far. The freckles are lovely on her face, but abit much on the arms and back I feel. Somehow tone down the size of the spots and have some larger spots. Hope it comes out awesome this is a great idea dude!
  25. after being gone for a while, here's some recent works! Malifaux - Guild Riflemen and Sidir Alchibal, from Guild Relic Hunters Boxed Set Enjoy! Comments & critics welcome
