  1. I'd be interested in knowing, if you guys are employed or students or whatever. Seeing as the amount of time you could potentially invest is majorly influenced by this. Not to mention family and relationship status. Haha.
  2. Awesome looking stuff! Go for Grave Spirit!
  3. Is that box set still up for grabs? Been considering McMourning as a second master to my hordes.
  4. Check out my Belles in my thread to see what I mean. http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?31134-Bleached-Models-My-Ongoing-Malifaux-Projects-Heavy-on-Images I start by painting all of the skin parts in Game Color's 'Dead Flesh'. I then wash the model in Secret Weapon Washes' 'Green-Black' and then 'Dark Sepia'. After that I dry brush the dried skin with 'Dead Flesh' and then paint over it with a fine brush for more detailed work. Then I mix in some 'Elf Flesh' from the old Citadel paint line (1:1 Elf Flesh and Dead Flesh) and highlight. In some cases you can highlight with 'Elf Flesh'. I am really pleased with this as it gives the models a mucky greenish yellow tint. Makes them look a little rotten but also lively enough to pass as 'pretty' dames to lure in more unsuspecting victims of Seamus. Edit: Forgot to add: I use a red wash around the eyes to create a nasty looking case of panda eyes. I also leave the eyes white without iris/pupil. I think it helps create the mindless and soulless look of the undead.
  5. Thank you! I actually have a McMourning crew planned, though their color scheme will be in the same colors as my Seamus one. Haha. I can live with the dogs being of a different color. The clothing, after all, is the 'victim' to my color scheme. Since animals don't wear it, I can live with it. Haha. Also beneficial should I ever decide to use them in my Hamelin crew. Seeing as they could pose potential speed boosts to take in goals. Hamelin does make them significant after all. So one pooch alone could take in a goal, being speedy and all.
  6. Really awesome and fitting bases! Please post more! Can't wait to see more of the crew.
  7. That model is oozing awesome.
  8. Damn! Those look really nice! The Ortegas are still one of my favorite crews. Nicely done here.
  9. The nurse is looking really nice! Though I think a darker hair color would have been nice for a bit more contrast. Still looks great though!
  10. Thank you! The Dark Eldar are somewhat boring to paint though. It gets tiresome to paint the same model, over and over again. Partially reason why I am focused on Malifaux at the moment. Here's my second pooch for Seamus' band. I really like the exposed ribs. Was a lot of fun to paint!
  11. So! I finally finished my Sorrows for lovely Pandora. Here they are! I mostly dry brushed them and then added some highlights with a brush later. As well as details in their faces. Simple and quick work. I am pretty pleased with them, though I might consider repainting them sometime later without dry brushing them and instead painting them normally. It really depends on how much I like them with the rest of my crew after they are finished. Here's the mini troop together. A side project of mine, which kind of took a back seat to my Malifaux figures. I wont really be posting much of non Malifaux stuff here but I thought I would share and see what the community thinks. This is a Dark Eldar Kabalite Warrior from my little 40k Army I am making.
  12. I like everything about it except for those crazy eyes. A problem that is apt to happen to a lot of models. Its such a pain in the ass to paint pupils that often they look 'crazy' and kind of off on the model. I use a 0/5 brush and barely the tip of it to paint pupils. I can recommend using a more greyish color for pupils instead of dead on black. The black on white pupil scheme makes it look comic like. Every time I see eyes like that I see those bulging eyes from the Simpsons characters. Hahaha. I very like your use for grass on the model. Especially the bulging creep behind the now youthful Zo. Nicely done!
  13. Here's a finished Sorrow for my Neverborn lineup. I am nearly done with the last two. Lots of dry brushing here. Here is a sneak at the other two. This is the job before the wash and the tons of dry brushing. I did consider using a different color for those, but I would have had to compromise and paint something else the grey/orange I used on his shirt underneath as well as belt on hat, etc... I can live without the main focus being on certain parts of the model, as these models are only painted to actually look good on a table. I wouldn't put them in a glass case to show off. I do try to avoid heavy sculpting on models. I am really terrible with green stuff. Haha. I might consider similar conversions, should I have a model that has a problem like Seamus' kneepads.
  14. Neato! Looks very similar to what I have planned for mine. Almost exactly like I planned mine. lol Though mine will contain mixes between brown and pink more than purples, etc... Here is one of the Sorrows I have finished. A tad bit more pink and at the bottom brown.
  15. I wanted to give my Neverborn models (at least the human like ones) a sort of tattoo. I might try it that way.
  16. Huge! Make sure to share images of the finished product.
  17. It is quite fun, thinking up schemes that can work with such highlights. I plan to have different combos for all of my crews. My Neverborn one is going to work with browns and pinks. Haha. I still wanted to make a Hamelin/Colette Crew some time and would end up using something nice there too. I still will use 'traditional' highlighting forms though. It really depends on the look you want to achieve. I used to freehand with standards for Warhammer 40k. I haven't painted those models in over 8 years. Hahaha. So I am surely rusty. I would probably scetch the image I want to get with a thin pencil before I paint it. Doesn't have to be on super thick either. Just enough so you know where to put the paint brush.
  18. I definitely do, in my opinion! I am still pretty sloppy and would love to paint as detailed as you can. Especially when looking at that showgirl's dress... *jaw drop* Sometimes its good to use white as a highlight base and other times its better to mix with other colors. I could have used a white base with the grey tone for those parts of the models. But that would have clashed with the bright orange as it is also pretty bright. Another option I thought about was using blue, since I originally paired grey with orange as grey tends to appear rather blueish which can give a nice contrast to orange. Went for peaches though. Haha.
  19. I browsed through your thread and am more than amazed. May I please have 1% of your talent to use on my own models? Damn!
  20. Here's the next model to the bunch. I would like to say 'Another bitch for Seamus.' but the animal is actually male. Haha. I feel somewhat iffy about this model. Mostly because of the base and that it doesn't go with the color scheme for my Resurrectionists. It's pretty obvious that I cannot paint the dog orange. Haha. The base I chose because I imagine these hounds roaming the suburban areas and wilderness surrounding in packs of animated dead. So no cobble stone bases for my hounds (for that matter any form of animal I have planned for my Ressies). I painted the model in a bleached bone color and added some brown spots for good measure. After that a nice full body wash with a dark brown color and them dry brushed it with some bone color + rotten greenish skin tone I used on my Belles and Sybelle. After that another lot of heavy duty washing with reds, greens and blacks. Add small details and pooch is ready to fetch some bones. Even if they are still attached to their owners. A side note concerning my current 'to-be-painted's: I am currently working on my Resurrectionist gang as well as my Neverborn woes. I wanted to alternate between models. At the moment I am working on a Sorrow, which should be done momentarily, as I have to only finish the base. I will most likely finish off the other two immediately after, seeing as they do not really take any time for me to paint. Any of these Resurrectionists you guys want to see painted next? I'd paint one of them after the nifty Sorrows. ^^ -Molly -Grave Spirit -Necrotic Machine -Canine Remains (x2) -Dead Doxies (x2) -Crooked Men (x3)
  21. Looking good! I can't wait to see the whole crew!
  22. The kid is really nice. I totally love it. The Dead Justice though... I just can't wrap my head around the color scheme. Mostly personal preference here. She is well painted though! I still have to think up a way to paint mine. Haha.
  23. Wow really nice conversions! I had to laugh at the candy one, especially with that lurking tentacle. What did you use to make the corpse counters? I have been considering making my own counters/tokens just for the hell of it. Any suggestions?
  24. Wow. I really like this one. I also tried to convince a friend to paint his bases for his same crew in those colors, but he wouldn't believe me it looked any good. Now I have proof!
