  1. Today
  2. Thanks a lot It's really not practical to using in a game, it's stupidly big. I designed and 3d printed a plinth for it, and it's still tipping over. I'll fill it with washers and let it stand around as a display model instead.
  3. Engaged is in the passive. So if your model is in another models engagement range, you count as ‘engaged’, regardless of whether your model engages it.
  4. Unbelievable! Thank you for the pictures! Amazing job, it has to look amazing on the table! maybe adding some weight to the bottom of the base (I read that you needed to glue it for the picture!), but in any case, truly amazing!
  5. and a new one done! I just purchased the ticket for Alfonso Villar, another of the spaniards usual suspects!
  6. I do, actually! They're not the easiest to see, as the camera likes to focus on all the crap I have on my table, but you can see the steps I take. I built it when the Razorspine Rattlers box came out a while ago. I turned the tree around around before painting. Blocked in, in acrylics, simple enough. Terror Tot, tree, and the snake's mouth is pretty much done. Almost everything after blocking in, is in oils, so things are very wet. The scars on the Tot are acrylic gouache. Everything done except for final shadows and highlights that come after i apply all the foliage. Still all in oils, so it sat around like this for a week.
  7. One ticket for the first Spaniard to confirm: Gustavo Castro!
  8. Argh, those Thi-chi coming back as Real Madrid in any Champions League game... we need to keep voting, bandits!
  9. Got the STL, the model is amazing, even if it won't be the final model it definitely is very cool! Now it needs just a cowboy hat and keep pushing for the Bandit KW!
  10. So beautiful!! Do you have some pictures of the process?
  11. The dabbler can be engaged, but it can't engage any models. No, the dabbler is engaged. A model is engaged if it within the engagement range of any enemy model. Any model within 2"(and LoS) of Hungering Darkness will be engaged by the Hungering Darkness. However in the case of the Dabbler, the Hungering Darkness would not be engaged and thus could walk away or interact if it wanted to.
  12. Hey guys, My group is relatively new to Malifaux with only a half dozen games and we just wanted to check our understanding around Engagement. 1. "Models that do not have *Claw* Actions do not have engagement ranges." Am I correct in my interpretation that a model without any melee weapon like my Dabblers cannot be engaged even if an enemy is in base contact with them? 2. If I am in a position where an enemy is engaging me but I am not engaging them (Example: Hungering Darkness is 1.5" away from my Dabbler), am I also correct in my interpretation that I my Dabbler can still interact, walk away, or use their Projectile attacks because they are not engaged themselves, but if they try and shoot the Hungering Darkness they suffer Friendly Fire because the target is engaged. We just want to make sure we are playing the rules as intended and in the spirit of the game, Thanks in advance!

  14. In "Puppet Strings," we meet a skilled practitioner of the art of bunraku, traditional puppet theater from the Three Kingdoms, and we learn who's really pulling the strings. http://www.breachsidebroadcast.com/e/chronicles-56/
  15. This year's event will celebrate 15 years of Malifaux with a new modern spacious venue, and potentially the biggest Malifaux tournament ever. We have moved to Leicester De Montfort University to provide a larger, better-equipped venue. Although this has increased the operating costs (hence a ticket price hike), on the positive side there will be a cheap bar and the venue is in walking distance of a wide range of accommodations and eating options. Transport links are also good. In addition, it will host the Avatar of Artistry painting competition, building on last year's expansion to this aspect of our favourite game. As usual I will be seeking sponsorship from related companies, and including a charity raffle. Everything you need to know can be found on the UK Nationals website including rulespack, ticket link, and venue information. https://uk-nationals.co.uk/event/ Players Lee Walstow James Brown Pieter Schutte Stephen Renouf George Renouf Daniel Eatch Gustavo Castro ✈️ Sean Wheeliker Joshua Price Alfonso Villar ✈️ Martin Wodehouse
  16. That's a good point! Indeed I'll probably try to collect all the faction, but I would stick to play 3 masters. I also noticed that McM and Molly share the Rogue Necromancy, so thats a hint on the second master having McM right now lol
  17. 3 masters is quite common for a 'tournament bag'. It's rarely practical to transport a full faction anywhere, and having a full toolbox isn't useful, if you don't know how to use half the tools. When I tourneyed ressurs last year, I lugged Seamus, Yan Lo and Daw around, but in 90% of my games, I just ran with Seamus, because of familiarity and brain fatigue. Experience with a given keyword is far more efficient than having optimum rules.
  18. Last week
  19. Yup I totally agree! Indeed I think I'll learn with McM1 and then I'll decide between Molly and Von Schtook as second master. And right now I already have McMourning core box and Seamus Core box to paint, so I'm good for a while! Do you think 3 masters to learn are enough for all the pools?
  20. The healing would occur at different points ( just like damage from a Trigger occurs at a different point to damage from the action) so this is 2 sources of healing.
  21. It's non-melee actions that are affected. Yes it will protect anyone regardless of their size, and the heights of the markers/models, or of any intervening terrain.
  22. A second question has occurred. I think the rule is clear, but I want to make real sure I am not playing it wrong because I will be doing it a lot: Athorak casts Ancient Words on Kastore2 (full hp or within LOS of Gwyll) with the Reward the Loyal trigger. Kastore2's Feast on the Faithful ability reduces the damage to 0. Trigger states 'another friendly model' may heal and draw a card. I take this to mean Athorak cannot benefit from the trigger, but Kastore2 can (if in range). Reward the Loyal and Feast on the Faithful (if not previously used in the activation) each heal Kastore 1 hp and would both resolve at step 6. Q: Does this count as 2 independent sources of healing? i.e. Kastore2 gets to resolve Faith in the Flesh twice (4" move), and Eta Kithae resolves twice (2 shielded)? Or is it considered part of the same event and thus only 2" move and 1 shielded? Cheers!
  23. @Adran kindly answered my first question: "what are the properties of Athorak's wardstones?" in another thread, but I will include it here as well. Answer = 30mm markers, no other traits (e.g. not terrain, no cover, no height, no shadow, no movement restrictions). Enemy non-melee attacks simply cannot draw line of sight through the markers or area between them, so presumably the effect effectively has infinate height and can protect tall boys like Kastore, even if the markers do not have a height characteristic.
  24. Hi everyone, I am an M2E player returning to enjoy Malifaux once again. I used to play Collodi and Lilith (RIP) in Neverborn and McMourning, Molly, and Yan Lo in Ressers - so having chunk of these factions, loving the nephilim aesthetic, and feeling some resonance with the keyword name, I have decided to re-learn the game with Kastore. My softest spot has always been for Neverborn, so that's where I am starting out. A fair amount has changed in the game since I last played and the Returned seem to have a fair amount of complexity in how their rules interact, so I anticipate having many questions pop up over the course of learning them. Hence, I hope this post will act as a convenient one-stop place for me to seek answers and advice - and hopefully be of use to other fledgling Kastore players. I will be uploading games I play to my YouTube channel (Mo11usq). I can't vouch for the video quality, but if you happen to watch them and detect any mistakes please feel welcome to point it out in the comments - I don't monetize, it simply helps me learn quicker. If relevant, I might add the corrections to this post as a reference for others.
  25. and you shouldn’t hold yourself back on the painting side. Personally I like ordering a keyword at a time, so I haven’t got too much clutter on the paint station. Also to really consider the theme of the keyword, basing wise, and if I should play with some new technique etc. Playwise, the game is just so complicated and with so many variables that limiting your choices at first, helps secure a good foundation. McMurder is a great place to start. Fairly straightforward, and as you move on, you’ll find the game just getting easier.
  26. Hey Wyrdos! This week, Waldo’s been hard at work getting games in so he can contribute to Fractured Futures! We’ve never seen him so focused, so determined… but he still won’t tell us who he’s hoping Nia will end up joining. To try and convince him, we peeled back the aether, walked the threads of Fate, and a few fractured glimpses of what may be… We’re going to be teasing a bit more of what the possible futures look like in the next coming weeks, so keep an keen eye out! We won’t be revealing the campaign score totals this week, so keep on getting games in and reporting your outcomes. But for some extra motivation, here’s a look at the overall rankings: Tri-chi Bandit Redchapel Cadmus Marshal Honeypot Savage Academic Week One has been phenomenal in terms of participation, and community engagement has been outstanding! Many of the current positions are separated by just a point or two so Nia’s fate is still anyone's guess! If you have questions about the Fractured Futures campaign, check out this link and get up to speed about the story, mechanics, and all other information. Echoes of the Breach: Fractured Futures If you’re interested in nabbing a model of Nia for yourself, an STL (or 3D-printable) version can be found in the Wyrd webstore here: NIA STL That’s all for this week Wyrdos. What do you think of Nia’s potential outcomes? Let us know in the comments!
  27. Thank you so much! The fact is, I would REALLY paint all the resserz models (except for Reva), they are all sooo sick! But I guess I should take my time and go step by step. As I said, 1 hour ago I had the postal delivery and now I got Seamus and McM1/2. They both look so nice. I'll learn with McM1 and then I'll decide my next step. I must stay away from the "tier list" discussion because it doesnt mean nothing right now, since we are all new! I must keep this in mind 😂
