jasper stone
Now that Hamelin is done I am wondering how many rats, rat catchers, wretches..etc. that people are finding they are needing to use in a game. I plan on magneti zing the rats so I can swap in and out for rat kings. So how about some counts folks?
Drool_bucket
3 Stolen. 1 Wretch. 2 Rat Catchers. Those are all Rare (x) models where you can't have more than I listed. I have 7 rats done and painted and 2 Rat Kings. I have yet to need more during a game, though the rats have come close and I don't start with any. Vanthor
I have 4 Rat kings (but only fielded 3 at any one time to date) and I've maxed out at 9-10 rats on the table.
ajay29
Echoing the point about the stolen, wretch and catchers. Out of interest, what are people using as Rat Kings at the moment? I have 11 rats, and i rarely see more than 5 on the table at any one time these days...
David Blank
For fun I am thinking of getting some skaven models for cheap and puting them on 40mm bases as rat kings.

I have seen players put 3 Malifaux Rats on a 40mm base.
David Blank
I played a game last night and I had to proxy steam arachnids for Rats as I ended up with 9 rats and two rat kings on the table. As a new Hamelin player is this going to be a regular thing? I have 6 more rats coming in the mail, I am just wondering if I need more, as my total will be 9 rats. Mason
I've played a bunch of Hamelin games, and I've only hit 15 Rats once during a tournament game, and that was just sort of a weird game to start with. Usually nine Rats is enough, and I only rarely end up going above that limit.
Makrar
I have 9 Rats and 3 Rat kings and havent (as of yet at least) felt the need for more. For rat kings i literally just stuck 3 of the metal rats on a 40mm base much like the steam arachnids swarm and just bent the tails together. Scirian
I bought Hamelin version 1, purchasing roughly the numbers listed above and have never had to go above them. Rat Kings, I'm still playing with, but two has worked out nicely thus far. My proxies are the Worm Pile from Helldorado.

I have 11 rats, and i rarely see more than 5 on the table at any one time these days...I've put a single Malifaux Rat on a 40mm base, surrounded by a lot of small rats from Freebooters 21 Rats pack And painted the big Rat King as an albino rat, just to make them stand out. AgentOrange
I also got the Freebooter rats; the plan is to put 2 or 3 to a base to make a swarm of them then use the Nezumi rat creature from Bushido as the king.
Grim
I plan to use this proxy to manifest the Rat King http://www.bushido-thegame.com/catalog/nezumi-includes-3x-rat
Hateful Darkblack
A Rat King (Rattenkonig) is a medieval German urban legend - that a bunch of rats could get their tails caught in a knot (often encrusted with filth or ice to freeze it in place) and get stuck like that. So I bought a Malifaux Rat blister and wrapped their tails outward, with each facing in a different direction.
Ratty
It's not really an urban Legend, they do exist.... Saying that I think a mix of different rattyness would be cool... Big Bloated pit mother with young suckling, Giant Albino rat, traditional Rat King, Spider Rats, Rats with little crowns and sceptres... etc
twee
I foresee the Nutcracker's ratking with 3 heads

Creaturefeature
I'm using diseased dire rats from the D&D miniatures as my Rat King. It looks like it belongs on a 40mm base and is very distinct.
Grim
Has anyone tried magnetizing rats and using multiple as rat kings, like what people do with antacids and swarms?
Sezar
Has anyone tried magnetizing rats and using multiple as rat kings, like what people do with antacids and swarms? That's what I did, as I already owned 12 Rats and I have never put more than 6 on the table in M2E. I just created 2 40mm bases with 3 magnets on each of them, and rebased 6 of the Rats with their own magnets as well. This way I can have from 6 to 12 Rats if needed, and up to 2 Rats Kings, which fits my play style, as I've never needed more than that (I don't usually hire them). izikial
as said earlier a rat king isn't a big rat, its a mushed up stuck together bunch of rats, so using rat ogres, skaven that sort of stuff doesn't fit technically, also it doesn't fit thematically, as combining 3 rats doesn't make a big rat it makes 3 rats together
