Skya
I realized I promised to show you guys the combined piece when I finally finished the sea elves and I've been sadly remiss. So here they are, as originally intended. There was no way on earth I was finishing this whole thing in an Iron Painter tound so I took and did it in two parts. The female was done for Iron Painter 4 and the male was done for ReaperCon 2008. I spent the summer putting them together on to one base and showed it off at the MMSI show. Hows that for getting my mileage out of one piece? And if you want to see more angles I put up a bunch in my gallery as well.
Thryth
Wow! That's really nice. The pieces really work well together and are beautifully done. I wonder if this would look better on a darker background, though?
Skya
Wow! That's really nice. The pieces really work well together and are beautifully done. I wonder if this would look better on a darker background, though? I did try using a soft mat black background, it just looked dusty. My photography skills just arent up to the challenge I'm afraid. Hinton
That's really cool, Skya. Excellent painting on everything and the base really does make it feel like it's underwater.

DeafNala
JUST BEAUTIFUL! As a Goblin Guy, I've always thought the botom of the Ocean was an EXCELLENT spot for elves.

Peterdita
Oh thats very pretty. My likey a lot! My sister is a marine biologist and would go nuts for something like this. I may have to steal this idea and make her a Xmass present. I hope mine looks half as good as yours though. Thanks for the inspiration! Moavoamoatu
That's amazing. Where did you get the dolphins ?
Skya
That's amazing. Where did you get the dolphins ? The dolphins are plastic safari world toys that came in a tube. The elves, the sting ray and the big fish are from Reaper, and everything else I did myself.
Wren
The final piece is terrific! I admire your patience as much as your skills, if I had a plan this grand and over such a space of time I don't think I'd ever have gotten it finished. Chameleon
The scene looks awesome. I love the blending on the dolphins, it's so smooth considering they are such large flat(ish) areas.
Brushmistress
JUST BEAUTIFUL! As a Goblin Guy, I've always thought the botom of the Ocean was an EXCELLENT spot for elves. Lol- I happen to like elves and goblins the same! Great work Skya - I saw a picture of Jeremie checking this out (or it may have been just the piece from IP). They came together wonderfully. I'd be interested in seeing it.
