Oh how cute: running stilts!

It's about time Cornelius came out: I've been waiting since Salute in April! As for Miss Ticklenott, any man who attempted to tickle her would need some balls of steel...scary. Although she's not one of my favourites to come out of the range. Humpty dumpty is next on my list of things to paint!

I like everything about it, except the face, which doesn't look great. Poor guy...

They said at the end of the trailer that it will be in 3D. Now that sounds cool!

Hi all, Sorry this isn't a Wyrd mini, but I thought I'd share anyway. I started painting this a couple of months ago. The bulk of the main painting is done, and I had a little break from it, but now I need to 'dirty' it, because that's what GW likes. So, anyway, just made a start on the dirtying process, but thought I'd post what I've got so far to see if there are any more comments that could help me get past that-oh so illusive- first cut in GD! I've also put him on cmon if you'd like to vote: http://www.coolminiornot.com/227506 I've only just posted it, so it may take a few hours to get up and running. I figured that putting it on cmon might give me some idea of how good/bad it is and how much I might need to cover with dirt! Cheers!

He looks great! You've also done the white really well, which is one of the hardest colours of all!

Uh oh. I guess I should go and hide under my huge pile of yet-to-be-painted minis!!

I do my best :fight: It's true though, many girls enjoy gaming. I just haven't bothered because I've got too many pretty things to paint!

I'm probably one of the very few here who doesn't game. I'm a girl and I look at the Wyrd minis and think 'oooh, they're pretty', and the back story is interesting in that it helps me to understand the character and how I might paint them. However, the truth is I don't care about gaming; I've never gamed, and wouldn't know how to. Bearing this in mind, it seems only fair that, given I can enter a painting comp without needing to game, isn't it only fair to let others enter a gaming comp who don't paint? Of course, if you want to paint your troops and make them look nice, then that's fine and you should get extra kudos. Maybe my lack of gaming experience means that I'm oversimplifying this a little, but it seems to make sense to me. So far as Wyrd is concerned, this is the only forum that I'm on, and I can safely say that it embraces all aspects of the hobby. I for one don't feel in any way like painting is neglected by Wyrd (in fact Wyrd encourages it more than most), and I think that the term 'gaming company' is probably a bit harsh and doesn't reflect the diversity of the hobby embraced by Wyrd.

Congratulations!! A 3 week honeymoon sounds like a great idea. It's weird actually because literally yesterday I was just discussing with my fiance (who is also a minipainter) about painting minis that represent each other as a cake topper! I've just nudged him after seeing this post and he's just rolled his eyes at me in the "yes dear" sort of way that I guess most men do when organising a wedding! Congratulations again and I wish you both all the best in the future

As Demonherald says, these are blatantly not made for painters but more for the unsuspecting parents who have their kids tugging on their sleeves for a massively overpriced cup. Shame on you GW...

Very cool!! I really like him. My critique would be that on the reference pic the red looks like paint that has been put ontop of the white armour because the chips on it look pretty much white to me. On your mini you've made the chips a fairly strong grey, which doesn't give the effect of showing the white armour underneath. Just a thought but maybe putting white inside each of the chips would better achieve the effect you're after?

I've only ever tried EZ water and GW water effects. I didn't like EZ water because it cooled too quickly to give me the level of control that I wanted. Plus I wanted a nice crystal clear water to allow people to see the bottom and I stupidly assumed that, although the little blobs were yellow, the end product would solidify into a nice crystal clear water...Wrong! :doh::doh: The GW water effect is ok, but you've got to put it on in very thin layers to make sure that it dries clearly. Haven't had any problems with shrinkage though. I wouldn't recommend either to be honest and I'm going to try one of the two part epoxy putties next.

Who paints the Helldorado minis because they always look amazing? Especially when you see them on the back of the box and then open it up and realise how small they are!
