Psientologist
Last year a bunch of people participated in a blogging project which was based off of the old Tale of 4 Gamers format. It's open to entry by anyone but is a good excuse to share links to each other's blogs, show newer players how they can start up a Malifaux crew as well as inspiring other current players. I'm looking to go round 2 on this project and rather than type it all out again, if this peaks your interest follow the link and see more details. http://malibros.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/tomb-2-tomb-harder.html Thanks - Ben Here is a list of blogs from those we know who have entered, please link these on your blog in any way you can and please go check them out; Psientologist: http://malibros.blogspot.co.uk (???) - Martin Wodehouse (Lucius) Geekphotoguy: http://geekphotoguy.blogspot.co.uk (Ironsides) Rathnard: http://rathnard.blogspot.com.au (McMourning) Insidiouslymad: http://abnormalifaux.blogspot.co.uk (Zoraida) Jchalmers: http://magicboltersa....blogspot.co.uk (???) Psientologist
I will make sure to start a list soon enough including participants and add you guys. Bear, of course you can do it. First month is always the trial by fire but later it will be practically a box a month.
Furio
Count me in! I'm a terrible painter, but my hobby new years resolution was to paint 365 miniatures during 2015. So this will fit right in! My blog isn't 100% Malifaux dedicated (some warhammer fantasy has crept into it, and no doubt some flames of war will do over the year.)
TheFollowing
Of course Mr Sime I shall be involved! I'm going to attempt Ironsides... I know! Some proxies are needed! Want to try a completely new faction! My blog: http://geekphotoguy.blogspot.co.uk

Psientologist
Good to see so many signups already. If you want to get started then go ahead. Doing a month and zero blog is generally a good idea.
Rathnard
Ooh look! Another spot where I can register my interest for this. My Blog; http://rathnard.blogspot.com.au/ BTW, if I want to do my crew on Wyrd's coloured transparent bases, do I have to count the cost of those toward my budget?

Psientologist
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to see that there has been a lot interest in this so I thought I would take advantage of this forum to announce a few things and clear others up. First thing: If you want to join, start now. The March 9th date is when you need to have a month 1 blog done and stuff painted. The first is always a bigger push but it is essential to weed out people who will never make the end (harsh but fair), however as it is more difficult more time is fine. You can make a blog of your declaration, "Month 0" is a traditional thing to call it. A constant question I have is "what if I have built and primed/ started a model or two" the answer is; Fine. This could be considered cheating however, a. if you were dishonest no one would know and b. the tale is not about RULES, it's about inspiration and giving people more will power and reason to get on with a project. If you have a head start, whatever. Stating the obvious, but this does not mean just blog your already finished things. The other FAQ was about the money, if you have already got something in your possession you want to use to start then please feel free to use it but either state or guess what it would've cost so that others understand the limit. I would love people to go help their LGS' but I can fully understand wanting to battle through a pile of unopened and unpainted miniatures before parting with more cash. PLEASE feel free to use this thread to ask any rules questions, eventually I post a full FAQ on the blog. Thanks again to everyone who is joining in, please use #ToMB2 when posting stuff on social media, that will help us all find each other. Rathnard
Excellent. All I really want to know at the moment is about basing - specifically should I incorporate the cost of the Wyrd Transparent bases into my budget?
docbungle
I have made my own bases from supplies bought in. I haven't factores that in at all. Dont see you doing same with transparents is different
Tinweasel
Sounds like a great idea and I'd love to get on board with this on my blog - 3 problems for me, though: 1) I don't have a LGS that sells Malifaux, 2) my painting time and expectations are such that I'm painting them to "my" standard (I'm a former competition painter trying to get back on the painting horse by working on stuff for myself with no deadline- or expectation-induced stress) as opposed to just "cranking them out" so I'm expecting I'd fail deadlines by default, and 3) I've already bought stuff I'd be painting at my last 2 GenCons. http://www.paintingbytinweasel.com I'll drop a mention of this on my blog, I still have regular readers even though I'm not the world's most timely poster - boost the signal a bit! Brax Jaxon
I've made my first blog post http://thenationofprocrasti.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/malifaux-journal-entering-tomb.html
ThePandaDirector
We'll see if I can survive the trial by fire. Furio
Will write my first ToMB2 Post later when Ii get the chance, but in the meantime heres my blog www.365days365minis.blogspot.com and remember terrible painters like me are what makes the rest of you look so good
Psientologist
If you don't purchase from a FLGS then just plug the site you do use or just use the Wyrd store prices. Bases, I wouldn't count them in. Feel free to go over it and mention them, but pricing basing ranges too far, from resin, to bits you've found, to lots of speciality pieces etc.
