I believe Luke and Joel played for 3rd place the year that Craig won?

1. 16 Players works well as is, no need to change it 2. It moved from 3 qualifying events to 4 a few years back and I think that works fine. You still need to perform consistently well at events to be in with a chance. Scoring 90+ at 4 events in a year with the number of players out there is no easy task. 3. The side events are awesome for the community and should definitely remain a fixture. 4. It would be nice to have media coverage if it's possible. The limitations of the venue will have an impact on this. 5. I prefer the gaming to be the important part of the Masters. It's nice to have fully painted crews but I don't think it's essential. 6. Difficult to judge effectively, as it's not clear cut like a game result. It would be nice to have the best painters recognised though, perhaps anyone achieving 4 or more Best Painted Awards in a year gets invited to display a crew at Masters Weekend and everyone in attendance has from before lunchtime Saturday until after lunchtime Sunday to vote? 7. Definitely free, it's the Masters 'Invitational' after all. 8. Not necessary unless there are no places near the venue that people can go. 9. I think Open Faction GG2019. It does give any players involved in the playtesting an advantage but if you are in The Masters, you should be able to cope. Having Open Faction means that it will be harder for people to guess what each other are going to play. 10. I've been knocked out at the QF stage twice now and have never been bored. Leave it up to the players to decide what they want to do. 11. I put SWAG but I don't really know. Trophies are always nice. The Masters is more about crowning a champion than getting on the podium, so I'd probably just stick to first for that. Martin

Pretty sure Luke and I are now coming. Will confirm by Thursday. If we do though, I think Luke wants to drive there and back in the day, so it will be a stupid o'clock start. I haven't done one of those for a while, so may be grumpy!

Hi all, I downloaded this yesterday but when I use it to build a Hamelin crew, it only allows me to hire one Stolen. Is this a bug or do I have an old version or something?

Right peeps, it's been a couple of weeks since the dust settled at Daffcon and I just wanted to thank everyone that participated in the Story Encounter for making it such a pleasure to run. I still love the Malifaux community in the UK , even Luke (but don't tell him I said that)! In my opinion the whole weekend was a fantastic success and much credit should be given to Mike Marshall for his vision and the efforts he went to to realize it. A huge virtual round of applause from me. Well done Mike and I sincerely hope the community continues to build on this for the future. All of this aside, the main reason I wanted to post was this: I would like to run the Story Encounter again next year if possible. But as this was mine and Luke's first time running any event, we suspect there will have been at least some things that we could sharpen up on for next time. To that end, I am seeking feedback from the participants on any aspect of the Encounter or its administration. All feedback is gratefully received. And please don't feel like you can't criticise. As long as it's constructive we will take it on board. Things can only improve if we know what we are doing wrong. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing what you have to say. Martin

I'm just finishing off writing the fluff for the Story Encounter. It's not huge (around 1500 words) however I did do some research prior to writing it, so the material does actually have some substance. You would need to be particularly geeky in a certain genre to pick up on the references but hey, all the cool kids use Google these days anyway! I hope everyone coming enjoys and look forward to seeing you there! Martin
