  1. I'm going to joint your sneaky manipulator lot for the time of a vassal league. I'm planning to play 3 masters : Shen Long, Youko and Lynch. It's a casual league where stuff that died stay dead (can't be hire again). yes I will read the available tactical threads for the masters above, but any tips will be appreciated. Beside that I'm looking for general advice for the whole faction. Any neat tricks/ combo? Best scheme runners/beater/utility models (and do I need to hire them ook). What to do with your upgrade? Thank!
  2. The most expansive big hat minions is 7ss (GOB are fine at this cost I think, they would be ridiculous at 6ss). The other are really cheap role players... This new Sommer looks full of tricks, unfortunately I also think it will fall short for competitive play in most situations. He'll be a nice tech pick for some pools though.
  3. Quick question: Is it possible to have a game of TOS with only the Court of two starter?
  4. For me the most important things for a single strat is the creativity involved. If you have one scripted line of play and/or one fixed list that solve it it's less interesting than a more complex / flexible strat. However, I don't think it's the most important things, since Malifaux has multiple stats and multiple schemes to choose from. So, if a strat is more scripted than an other it's fine as long as it requires something quite different than the other strat (Leyline is a good example imo). So I mostly agree with @Adranhere. I think the balance between all 4 strats and the singularity of each of them is the most important things. Finally, you also have to take into account the interaction between the strats and the potential scheme pools... For example, if 75% of your scheme pool is super brawly, you might want that most strat been heavily interact oriented.
  5. This is a reasonable arguement. I went back to the adversary description and it says that X can be a keyword, a characteristic or a name, but doll specifically said adversary keyword. So I can buy your argument here. I still think that wyrd will need to clarify this quickly.
  6. Why? Adversary Ennemy is a new condition now, so I don't see why doll couldn't give it...
  7. Why most? All the enemy models will be on a neg, there'sno way around it that I can think of... They probably didn't think about that when they created the adversary enemy condition.
  8. Well opportunist always work with stunned, so it's always good in Woe and since his own attack give distracted he'll have plenty of use for the distracted part as well.
  9. Well I was asking for a summoner Dora, now I have it! Base on the art, the sculpt has a lot of potential. I'm quite happy to get Dorian in NB. He brings much needed markers removal and a second don't mind me model. Boring conversation is also a great tool to have access to. I think he'll fit well in a Mama Z crew. His attack on the doll is good, and Z can move him around for easy Scheming + boring conversation.
  10. Whoa! This Colette can cover a lot of ground (like the whole table). This is hard to evaluate. At first glance she seems weaker than OG Colette, but she could be deceptively powerful (scheming all around the place from the confort of a table corner can be nice. She can also lunch surprise attack from weird angles (a nearby dove can be a real threat now). I like Dorian in NB. He brings marker removal and Scheming capacity... He seems more redundant in a Performer crew but opportunist distracted seems like a nice tool to have.

  12. Well, I'm an average Bayou 0layer at best, so take everything I said with that in mind! Imo Zipp is probably worth it as a second master against Cadmus but I never tried it myself (mainly because second master were not allowed in the MWS). I think Ulix can fare well against Ivan, but I never tried the matchup. Ivan will have more opportunities to summon his big gun (and the anti-hraling is certainly annoying), but you can be in his face quickly. If you play him, please report back your findings.
  13. Do NOT try to brute force cadmus... it won't work. Shooting at them and kidnaping models are the way to go imo. Zipp is a good pick. Bring Gluttony/the Emissary. You'll either have to deal with the mess or invalidate them completely. Try to isolate archivist/Meredith and kill them if you can. Do not underestimate the E&E. If you can kill an inactivated one it's usually the right call. Seeker is a bubble crew... so don't go in that bubble. Use your superior mobility and your movements tricks to deal with specific models or to just scheme around them. Kill their schemer that they're not operating in the bubble. Ivan have a squishy crew. Emissary is great. Anything that ignores concealment will help. If you can avoid WP 6 models do it. If I would have only one crew to bring against those 3 keywords it would be Infamous by far. Kin can probably do well too (I'm not sure against seeker though since I think they lack the mobility).
  14. With Dashel? Those guards need booze. With crazy Maxine? She might has dive too hard in too the bottle and than get vulnerable to the burning man.
  15. Wow his bonus make Dora sad.. She's not the o ly one that can open the box anymore (ok he's misson the 2 damages, but as a Dora player I can tell that massive stun is really good).

Well it's 8 upgrade if you abuse myranda tome trigger (so you need the tome and /or use stone and also spend Myranda activationdoing nothing)... it's most likely 2 from Barkus, 2 from OI and 1 to 3 from Myranda. Marcus needs his 2 upgrade as does Myranda. The initiates will have one each, so you have 2 upgrade to spear. So probably one one on a beast and one on the rabbit... I much prefer a second initiate than spending Myranda t1 activation doing nothing and burning stone. Than I really think that you want 2 initiate to be paired with an other beast so they can still generate upgrade and swap them when needed. I guess if you main goal is to buff Barkus you can go down to 1 OI +Myranda (or even just Myranda) and than go heavily OOk... It's a playstyle that I didn't try yet.

  18. I only play to game with him yet (one win and one lost both again better player than me). Here's my tough on Barkus. 1) he's definitely better than OG Marcus. You're missing a bit of card draw but you gain raw efficiency and power. 2) He's not OP but definitely a tournament quality master. He's vulnerable to stun (2/4/6 no trigger is not super good and he really want his bonus action so it's basically-1 ap). You have less leeway with your upgrade in this crew and upgrade management is the name of the game. His crew is still squesshy and you need to operate in small bubble of 2 to 3 models for upgrade efficiency wich is easy to disrupt. 3) you need Initiate (at least one, but honestly i think 2 are needed if you want enough upgrade t1) and Myranda. So you have less flex spot. You probably at least want an other beast, ideally with adaptive evolution, to pass upgrade. So NB beast are significantly worst and you don't have a lot of flex spot (especially since you have to pay the taxes on OOk beast). You probably also want 2x AP to a) compensate for the lack of card draw and b) win initiative so your huge beating master can go and delete a key piece if needed... All that doesn't left a lot of room to adapt your crew... Like fitting the BBS - Vasi combo will be hard (I have yet to try it with Barkus). 4) I tried the Emissary in both game and it was fine, but the combo with Barcus aura doesn't make him much better (just a little, but I wouldn't take him just for that). 5) I think the play style is fast agrro (like Nekima). Marcus can hold is ground alone and than you operate with mini bubbles of 2 chimera models (including at least one initiate myranda). The keyword is not super durable so you can't engage in a trench war but Marcus is tough (especially with Myranda support) and he can act as a tarpit... But I don't think it's the best use for him. Noted. After T1 I much rather leap than use the bonus to attach a new upgrade, So I don't count Marcus as a reliable source to pass upgrade. I definitely enjoyed to play him (much more than OG Marcus) and I definitely think he's tournament worthy.
  19. What factions do toi play? I think some faction /master are more likely than other to hire duplicates. You need great minion to begin with 😀.

  21. Guys... it was a joke (to match Axelst dry sense of humor). Alxelst went 3-0 in his group and he's one of the best Malifaux player.
  22. That sounds like a lot of trouble for not such a big reward (actually having Alps in your starting list is more a liability)... Alps will probably remain awesome summons. But maybe I lack imagination and the place list works. Also I want to see a meme deck of Insomniac + Mama Z just to know how many times you can cycle through your deck in a single turn.

  24. Do you count Chompy as a LD model? I actually had 7 LD models when I played him... It was a bit overkill but 4 seems low. Daydream still seems useful IMO. Lead nightmare is always good and 3ss for LD model is a bargain. That free up some stones for more impactful models. Also, I don't see how you can go lower than 2 stitch with Imsoniac. They're even better than usual helping you control the bury/unbury timing. If you go 2 stitch 2 DD and 2 Ancien Pact it's 22 SS and you have 5 LD models. So you have room for 2-3 other models... My go to would be Lay Y and WW and propably a madness, but you have a lot of room to play around. One thing I would like to try is angel eye. She usually just not worth the stone but she can do a lot of damage from save distance with a hand full of severe. Unfortunately she doesn't benefit from adversary.
