  1. Doesn’t look like Auguste can put up enough distraction on himself to have “Armor+2” often. I think he’s more of a tech pick against scheme marker heavy crews, not needing to spend a resource to control enemy Interacts is nice. The -1 Wp doesn’t help much vs concealing when you flip with a negative and hit a weak.
  2. Kenshiro's Push -> Move only affects Mercenary/Retainer models, so pretty limited use for Daw unless you curse your Mercenary models and then deal with Hazardous that is affecting your friendly models. Kidnapping an enemy model that has Anger Issues and dropping next to something that wanted to activate next could give some decent indirect activation control to Daw.
  3. Removing "through" wouldn't fix the rule Hazardous rules. If you cut out resolving an ability it reads like so: "when a model moves through ... Hazardous Terrain". Removing through would make it: "when a model moves ... Hazardous Terrain". I think changing it to "when a model moves through, ends a move in base contact with, or resolves an Action while in base contact with or while in Hazardous Terrain." would fix the issue you specify.
  4. I like dealing with summons in the Strategy text, that way each Strategy can be individually balanced for how much summons warp it. I think keeping summons ignored by schemes the turn they enter is good. Hidden Martyrs would be stupidly easy to get the end point for by summoning into engagement as last activation, and I'm sure some others are made pretty trivial by summoning a scheme-able body at the end of the 5th turn. Interacting the turn they enter is probably less impactful, but I think it should still take a turn to come online as well. I think giving the opponent a chance to plan for what the summon will do next turn is needed. Also clean up the "targeted" mess the previous FAQ has created.
  5. Ride with me is more efficient than passing Fast around for movement. Samurai get 9-10” from Ride, that’s equal to a walk + charge. The abundance of positive ranged attacks is amazing with Faded Mirror, with two of the Samurai/Riders being able to draw up to 3 (4 if PwT resolves) cards in an activation. That’s a lot of chances to make the opponent blow a moderate/severe to avoid damage just to watch you cheat a weak to draw a card. Corpse Curator does look great, and one Samurai w/ SP could be replaced with CC and a Huckster and probably leave the list better off in pools that don’t combine Turf War w/ Vendetta and/or Assassinate.
  6. Silent Protector on Samurai is gold with Ride with Me, since the model they are protecting can move the Samurai along with them and the crew as listed has a good amount of healing to exploit HtK. Just dropping the Lone for 2x SP would probably make for a fun list. Dawn serpent could be good instead of Cherri if you need something a bit more independent for additional scheming and Armor isn’t going to be plentiful. Samurai ignore armor in melee still, so Cherri really only seems needed if the entire crew has armor. Obsidian Statue could be an interesting way to get more scrap markers for the crew, you’ve really only got Iggy for 1 per turn meaning only one relic passed out per turn. Ramones can charge, hit for 1 dmg and a scrap, and then place on the other side for up to 9” movement in 1AP. Can then possibly heal the Statue with Field Kit.
  7. It means the Action must be targeting an enemy model for you to declare that trigger. So Hoffman can’t attack a friendly model and declare a trigger which specifies “enemy only”. Italics stand for costs OR restrictions. Read the “Special Restrictions” box on pg. 23.
  8. Huckster and Katashiro are amazing schemers, both would be OOK. Dawn Serpent is a fairly independent model that can do beating/scheming well. Wanyudo is a great Lodestone carrier, and can also scheme well. Fuhatsu, Ototo, and Izamu are the “kill things dead” models in the faction. Sun Quiang is a good OOK support pick that can provide a backup schemer. Ama No Zako’s bonus Action’s trigger to let any model take ANY action is great, the regular effect of Dark Bargain is handy as well. Samurai can make great use of Silent Protector. Kabuki Warrior, Qi and Gong, like Trained Ninja to force more melee attacks into them. Shadow Emissary is mostly best avoided with the masters you’ve picked, Dawn Serpent is better unless you really want the hand cycle. I think Asami and Minako are the only models where you’d want it imo. Terracota Warriors could be super useful in a tournament where hires stay dead. Depends on if a hired model, which dies then replaces another model and survives the game, counts as dead or not. Still can bring a lot of utility to a crew depending on Tactical Actions, and is especially strong in Youko or if second masters are allowed and you bring Asami.
  9. An enemy model would still be able to benefit from its own Aura that checks for models in range, like Violation of Reality, if it was limited to other enemy Auras. In which case you would only need the “ignored by”.
  10. Guarding Spirit on Yan Lo The Spirit Walker’s Reliquary says that Yan Lo can take a non-bonus Action targeting a model within 3” and LoS. Is Yan Lo able to take the Final Wishes action, or must the Action specify a target? If Yan is able to take Final Wishes, which range restriction would the trigger use?
  11. Yea I agreed that the ignoring the range and performing the rest of the effect was a stretch. However for Ice Mirror, or similar abilities that use markers vice models, the Aura still exists and the marker is not ignored due to Seamus. Seamus would have to prevent enemy model’s abilities/effects from resolving, which is far beyond ignoring or being ignored by an Aura during resolution imo, to stop marker based effects.
  12. To ignore an Aura would mean the Aura still exists, Seamus doesn’t stop effects from creating an Aura. Rethinking it based on your argument, the unlimited range on Raspy is probably too much of a stretch. I’m still not convinced that ignoring an Aura is the same as preventing the Aura from even existing, seems too powerful to kill all enemy Auras instead of stopping enemy models from counting as inside an enemy Aura.
  13. A Pulse is essentially an Aura that the model producing ignores... so exactly what Seamus's rule is saying when I read it. Seamus does not say "enemy models ignore abilities which produce an Aura", it just says "enemy models ignore Auras". An important caveat to this is: Auras still exist. Models just do not gain any effects from the Aura because they essentially do not exist within range of the Aura while within range of Seamus. Ice Mirror does not grant an effect from the Aura, it imposes a range limitation on targeting an Ice Pillar. If you ignore the Aura, Ice Mirror technically gets unlimited range (probably a stretch, but I can see argument for/against) since there is no range for targeting an Ice Pillar anymore. Seems broken to me, so I think that Auras which are ONLY imposing a range limitation on checks for objects other than a model, ie terrain or marker, for the effect's resolution can be ignored for Seamus's purposes. In contrast, Reva Luminary's Enkindle the Cult is affected by Seamus since it is targeting models. Seamus would force Reva to ignore friendly models within range of Seamus, but I don't see why you cannot kill a model outside of Seamus's Aura. Again going to Asami's Violation of Reality; she would ignore her own Aura, if within range of Seamus, because it checks her model's position within the Aura for the effect. Violation of Reality still produces an Aura, and should resolve on other models outside of Seamus's Aura. Ice Mirror, and equivalent abilities, do not ever check the producing model's position in relation to the Aura for the effect to resolve, they are essentially "Pulses" outside of Ivan standing perfectly overlapping a shadow marker (or other masters overlapping other non-impassable markers).
  14. Was the errata just the draw a card at the end? I think letting Ice Conduit ignore Ice Mirror’s discard for triggers, draw after Raspy/Silent discards for a trigger due to Ice Mirror, or even draw instead of discarding for Ice Mirror triggers would provide a boost easily accomplished via errata. Wendigo would be able to use its own Ice conduit for cards, so an “instead draw” could be near an over-correction.
  15. Wouldn’t that require 2 AP (Concentrate & Healing Energy) to only give Fuhatsu Focus+1? Mei can give both Fast and Focus+1 for 1 AP while also being able to guarantee the suit if needed. So from an efficiency standpoint, Mei is quite ahead imo.
  16. It isn’t as clear as I first thought now. In my mind, all enemy Auras become “Pulses” (not an actual Pulse) and enemy models ignore “Pulses” generated by other enemy models. However, I can see multiple ways to read the ability now… another one for the FAQ I suppose.
  17. Ignoring an Aura would be like an Ashigaru ignoring Toshiro’s Leadership since the Ashigaru is affected by the Aura. I don’t think a model can ignore an Aura which doesn’t affect them. So Rasputina and Ivan still create the Aura for the effect, but Seamus’s Aura shutdown does nothing because their Auras affect markers. Edit: Maybe a better example would be Asami ignoring her Charge Aura, since she is affected by it herself when Charging. Would being in Seamus’s Aura actually make something like Ice Mirror unlimited range? Raspy ignoring the Aura would make the ability have no range check, right?
  18. I think one of the few, maybe even only, abilities that can ignore the “not in base contact of a model” portion when Creating a marker is The Damned’s Frozen Earth trigger. Frozen Earth actually specifies to Create the maker in base contact with the target. “Anywhere in range” can still adhere to the restriction as “anywhere in range [not in base contact with another model]”, whereas the explicit “in base contact” cannot.
  19. Wow yea, as long as you have a mask/ss and they fail Bloody Display's WP duel, you can whack em till they are dead. Since they are stuck on negatives to flip for Bouquet's duel AND Bloody Display's WP duel, you've got a great chance to outright kill most models in the game if you can pin them against impassable w/in 6 of Sybelle. Incorporeal and Butterfly Jump are probably going to be taken often against Mr. Baker.
  20. With Sybelle, the Bonus action has the possibility of min 8 damage if you position well for Bloody Display at best case. However, Bouquet itself only has a min 3 from the perspective of worst case, ie no resources spent and model isolated. I think the min dmg for attacks is usually considered from the latter perspective.
  21. The accuracy modifier is the difference between duel totals, and is independent of success/failure. So if you lose the duel by 11, both the opponent and you would receive a positive fate modifier to any resulting flips.
  22. First WP based Execute in the game I think, and a non-shooting ranged attack to boot. Looks pretty powerful in a keyword with Scarlet Temptation on most models, even being able to summon up a model in range of the target.
  23. Your opinion is probably because you are a control player (which is a less common play style), which lends to you liking placing/determining the strategy locations since it grants more advantage to control strategies. I like the fixed placement strategies mainly from an even play standpoint. Makes the game less easily determined in the crew hiring/deployment stages of the game in my experience (which is still prob beginner territory).
  24. I think this might be the most clear of any of the multiple interactions of Routine Performance. Marker performs the action as if Colette using Colette’s stat card. Neither have insignificant, so the Decoy marker should be able to interact regardless if it is also a model with insignificant since it is not performing the action as a Dove. I think you would have to show how Colette’s stat card would gain insignificant when causing a Dove to interact to disallow the marker interacting, and I’m not sure you can with the current rules.
