  1. I know the feeling, I’ve got four Guild crews painted, three ressurs and just finished a thunder - but its the Neverborn that hits the table 9 times out of 10 😊 But its a real weakness in Guild/NVB particularly when tournament game is more likely to hit three rather than five rounds, that there are no cheap/fast minions to concentrate purely on scoring schemes before time is called.
  2. Like Neverborn, the general strategy of the Guild is to kill the opposition before scheming. So everyone can pull that duty - the Lone Marshall is particularly useful in this Dual role. If you’re going into a schemy scheme with Guild, look to the masters that do so - Lucius and Nellie.
  3. So the agent got a coat of paint... He might get another 😛 LOST IMAGES - SORRY
  4. I’d go with the models/keyword that makes you want to paint the most - and is available. None af the Ressur masters are simple and friendly towards new players. That shtick is for Guild masters, and they suffer for it balance-wise Instead get a keyword, accept that you’re going to get your arse handed to you for the first couple of games, until you have a decent understanding of the game and its principles. Face off versus some people interested in teaching you the game, rather than stomping a n00b. After that, you’ll start winning.
  5. Neverborn is definitely lacking in models like necropunks, false witnesses and other stuff, that make scheming easy and free your beaters to beating. Then again those models rarely contribute much else, whereas in my Woe, my Sorrow float around on the periphery affecting the game with their auras and Glimpse of Insanity, while doing interacts. My Nightmares pop up to beat the crap out of the opponent and clearing space for scheming - and then Lucius is up for anything involving scheming. But it is quite different from most other factions - and sadly a ‘combined’ tactic seems to be more efficient in general, or plain simpler.
  6. I don’t really see the synergy with the marshalls? - My take on ‘Asylum’ would involve Lucius as a Leader : Lucius’ Madhouse W. False Witnesses (Guild) Size: 50 - Pool: 2 Leader: Lucius Mattheson Totem(s): The Scribe Hires: Dr. Grimwell Nurse Heartsbane Alan Reid Investigator Investigator 2 False Witness False Witness 3 ‘Witnesses’ accusing targets of abbynormal behaviour, and have them dealt with by Investigators and Lobotomised by the good doctor. It’s not the doctor leading of course - but there is a ‘staggering’ synergy.
  7. I don’t see many mini-gamers applying their mini-skills in real life. And although the skills you mention are good, mini-gaming is hardly the only (or even the best) place to acquire them. They’re rather universal, wouldn’t you say? But it is great fun though
  8. Explain to those parents, that their kids will have their arses handed to them, unless they get proper parental support. Next explain to them, that miniature gaming is a fairly useless skill, as they grow up, but the artistic skills and understanding, they can develop is invaluable.
  9. A small step towards fielding the Last Blossom. LOST IMAGES - SORRY
  10. Exactly, but if an enemy model takes an Interact in the Exclusive Interview aura, it is treated as friendly and the action is controlled by the Interviewer. That’s why I’m asking
  11. But Exclusive Interview makes the model friendly, and the action is controlled by the Interviewer. Where is the subtlety, I’m missing? 😊
  12. Whats stopping the combination of Exclusive Interview and an Obey from allowing me to pass an opposing lodestone to one of my own crew members?
  13. I’d go back and put some slight definition into the shadow areas - from their light reflecting from surroundings etc. I tried some of the same in my ninjas - see signature - and they improved a lot, when I added some highlights to the black. I used purple/turqoise to keep the contrast in ‘temperaturs’.
  14. Took a little detour, as my spec order 46 turned up. Of course, I hated his weird pose - he looks like a teen cos-player with no idea on how to hold his body, not a menacing mimic assassin. Tried a simple conversion, just chopping up his arms to gide his knives behind his back - what do you think. LOST IMAGES - SORRY
  15. Thanks, the pics are still WIP, I’m working on better definition on the shadow part and higher contrast on the fire part - at least I will, when my shoulders recovers.
  16. Sadly my brushwork has been put on hold, as I’ve overworked my arm - beware of mouse and touch pads, they aren’t ergonomic. But I do have some WIP shots of my dragons - ninjas and dragons, it doesn’t get much better. Keeping the theme of fire and shadow.
  17. Hilarious. Particularly when you think of, how popular DMRs are in general
  18. I just stopped being logged in altogether. The constant cloning of lists was just too frustrating - the synch was nice, but a feature I do fine without.
  19. ADD: My basing for Guild has been a little dirt, grass tuft and water fx on a base painted to have an eerie green glow from the water. Sadly the water fx has in time become opaque and some have craquelured. I suspect LGS had stored water fx wrong, as it also had a weird texture out of the jar, that I've never seen ordering online later. For ressurs I came upon some awesome victorian cobble street resin bases from Model Display Products. They were both cheap and really atmospheric with all the trash littering the streets. For the Neverborn, I tried the water FX again - now without the earth and tufts - just simply trying to create a weird glow from beneath, as the models are standing in water in a flooded city. I threw in the wyrd lamps to give a little glow and variation (and height to the smaller models), and tried to sculpt some anti-gravity water magic effects and ripples - as opposed to the guild water, that was more still and bog-like.
  20. My favourite Guild model has always been the Peacekeeper – I got this one with the Family. I just love the idea of a hulking steambot, clanking across the field, and it made for a nice centrepiece with the Family. I've never been much of a fan of big metal models however. Few things are left bare metal if only for rust protection, so I thought a nice red paint job would strike fear in the hearts of its enemies, while making it go just a little bit faster. LOST IMAGES - SORRY
  21. Since I already had quite a sizeable Guild collection, I really felt, I missed the third of Lucius' Angels; Sonnia – and a good offer came up on her old box with M3E, so I picked her up. I'm hoping to round out her witchlings at some point. LOST IMAGES - SORRY
  22. After having assembled two crews - and now having actually played a couple of games. I kinda knew, Guild wasn't the faction for me. Yet again, I didn't like the idea of having 'wasted' models. So I looked to branching out, and since Doc had a really intriguing set of models, and allowed me to branch into ressurs, I used him as an excuse to get even more models – Doc actually saw some play in M2E, and he was a blast I never really liked, how the kentauroi ended up colorwise – and I got them 2nd hand, from someone who sadly had little idea on how to assemble models. So I hope to get around to them and give them a little love - some time. LOST IMAGES - SORRY
  23. 7My second crew was the Marshalls. I wasn't really that keen on guild, but... I always had a weakness for chicks with big swords, and they fitted the deadlands cowboy thing. LOST IMAGES - SORRY
