Hey there. I'm not sure if this is the correct place for this but I've having some issues with the Malifaux playtest forums. I can log in just fine, but the link I was sent just goes to a page with the subforum's header and nothing else. Also I can't see said subforum on the main page. I'm guessing that my approvals just haven't been set correctly. What steps should I take to rectify this? Thanks in advance.

My guess is that the pairings will be story based than mechanic based. So off the top of my head.... Lady J/ Dr. Macmourning Nellie/Molly Titania/Nexus Von Schtook/Sandeep maybe. Oh and Marcus/Cooper

One thing we know about Jedza's age is that she's had 17 protectors/ companions from the same family, one at a time. Given how good she is at keeping things alive it would not be shocking to think that the Miks have been with her for roughly 17 generations, and she didn't even start with them when she began wandering.

I used our lovely Seekers quite a bit during playtest and yeah, they have quite a learning curve, for both you and the opponent. Still they are crazy fun. I'm not so sure about Tannenbaum, however, some of his stuff is pretty situational and "Rewrite the story' is ludicrously situational AND insanely hard to do.

It is worth noting that when the starter boxes were revealed at Gencon the Outcast one was Keyworded Syndicate, so I'd expect more fun toys for them sooner rather than later.

I'm so jealous. I was at my FLGS today and was told that their distributer basically just shrugged when asked when the book will be available, so who the heck knows when I'll be able to enjoy the bounty of what I generally expect will be my new primary faction.

So, Korrok, since you have a physical copy of the book. Could you be persuaded to answer two small questions that I think we'd love to know. 1. What does EVS stand for? 2. What's the deal with the SEEKER master? She was my primary during the playtest and I'd love to figure out how close my head cannon is to what she's about.

Sadly you were right.

The EVS was mentioned in the 'research notes' in Tidecaller's announcement, so its probably a save bet that its part of their keyword. The water theme adds credibility to that theory as well.

I should go back and re-read that. But yeah, an elderly woman with sharp features, that could easily be Gretchen.

I'm guess that we'll see a tease for the healing Seeker master this Wednesday. We've known about Basse, McCabe and Cooper for ages now. Ivan got spoiled at Gencon. And in the last month they've rolled out three of the other four as a count down to the new book (odd that they chose to reveal Beebe/Calypso rather than -REDACTED-) So that just leaves the seekers to be the last big reveal before the book drops. At least I hope so.

She was one of the two Masters I focused on during the playtest. The other one we can't talk about, yet, maybe next week. She was just so much fun. Once I got my head around using her scheme marker shenanigans and the fact that she's not a brawler, she's a finisher I was away to the very bloody races. You can literally shoot scheme markers through people. What's not to love? Also, Sovereign is a beast.

Oh hell yeah. I've wanted to gush about these two since the playtest. They are so insanely fun to play. I think she may be my main going forward.

Apparently her thing is running a summer camp. I was shocked to see this pop up in Monster Prom 2 on my first playthrough.

Just realized that the thing in his hands is the Mechanical Firefly. It's bigger than I would have expected. Also, it took me a bit to wrap my head around what all those parts were. Very excited for this guy.

That guy had best be careful or he's likely to end up on Skid Row when we all know that he's prefer somewhere that's green.

That would be unspeakably helpful. Can anyone official clarify on this?

So, if my idiot friends all decided to forget to sign up is it too late for them to do so? As it stands I'm the only member of my local gaming group to be in the play test. If it is too late then I guess I'm going to have to learn to love Vassal.

Very excited to be sending my paperwork for this. I've been wanting to see the Explorers for a while now, especially Umbra.

My guess is that they'll go with whoever the ES's summoner is.

My immediate reaction was to think of the 'shadow people' that are often reported by people suffering from sleep paralysis. If that's anywhere close they could be nightmares or woes.

I mean her current main description actually says, "Most disturbingly, she instilled a sense of purpose and devotion in those around her that should have been beyond the ability of a child." Everyone she meets (except her parents) just sort of comes around to her side distressingly easily, and in her intro story Vincent , a veteran guild exorcist, actually questions his own motivations for helping her.

I'm going to have to point out that Kirai was willing to teach the Court of Two how to enslave ghosts in exchange for a chance at getting her lover back. Totally understandable but at best reckless, at worst aiding a hostile invading force. It hurts me to say it, her relationship with Molly was one of my favorite parts of the story and I'd love to see her on the side of angles again. Also Reva seems nice but there is a definite maybe kinda mind control vibe there. Maybe she doesn't know she's doing it but it's still a little creepy. Nelly is the worst, just the worst.
