  1. A lot of good info, i went ahead and got the winged plague. Ill prolly be ordering A&D next because i LOVE the model and now that i have a use for him, im excited. I have a few neverborn crews so i do have access to kade and candy. Ill be playing my first few games with hamelin the rest of this week so ill see how it all flows. Appreciate all the info. Still following if more ideas arise
  2. He mainly summons abominations, he just has the largest hire pool in the game because he can hire non gremlin constructs which adds a lot of choices. I know people who have a whole case of malifaux that is just leveticus. He works good with his core group though if you do really like him and keep expanding your options. I prefer having different crews opposed to a whole money pit on one crew though. The dreamer comes with alps, daydreams and a coppiluis so pick up ude just need 3 more models for the rest of his summoning. Stiched together being one of those work very good in many nb crews. When you for sure choose a faction and expand to other boxes your choices will multiply just from the options in each box. If you got pandoras box and the dreamer for example the stiched together and insidious madness can work good in both. When i first started i found things like that to maximize my options. Ultimatly you need these options because you need to be flexible with the game strat and scheme. If you play with same crew and no extra options or masters people will counter them and you will struggle with certain games. Like i said though, once you learn the game and models youll know where to expand
  3. Depending on how limited with time and budget you are some of the summoners could be rough. Buying all the extra models for them especially leveticus is a lot of models and a lot of painting. Thats is you want all the summoning options which is the most benificial along with the most costly. Ide start with a crew you like that doesnt summon, less time and money involved with models even after buying some extras for the crew. Once you learn the game with that crew youll know a lot more and know which dirrection to go next.
  4. What do the wingled plague do? I see some for sale but cant find much info on them, im guessing they hand out blight
  5. Picked up hamelin along with brother hood af rats. These are very common models for any hamelin crew along with killjoy that everyone else loves to use. What are some other combos and builds you guys find effective?
  6. Ide buy models that complement your crews you have for more options before buying new crews. Learn how everything works and having good options for 1 crew opposed to limited options for many crews is sometimes better.
  7. Game should be played with a lot of terrain so shouldnt be to hard. If you have issues or expand those 2 i mentioned before waldgiest and stiched can provide cover
  8. Yeah i always start with other plans for her. When teddy gets to 1 wound or something i start to think oh, ill just heal him fast. I still havent learned to stop trying with her and wasting my ap lol. Guess im just use to my slop haulers always healing easily, not even close to the same case with candy
  9. Most minions in every faction can find there way into a few crews maybe an average of 3 where they actually have some type of synergy. Some minions on the other hand just dont mix well with certain crews unless you plan on running them solo, check minions on pullmyfinger to see who they have chemistry with.
  10. Every game i use candy i end up trying to heal someone with her. She can take a extra casting action and her healing is so unreliable i have spent all 3 ap trying to heal before and failing them all? I agree about poltergeist, unless he is in a good spot to put down paranorm activity marker when everyones grouped up for multiple turns. He has not done much for me besides that
  11. Well the reason anyone would say that is probly due to him being a summoner. So you would have to buy all the models he can summon for him to be complete. Thats just for summoning though, still need more models for base crew
  12. I actually use hunters in a lot of my list. They roam all over by themselves. Pulling models, pouncing, they have armor and can push at end of turn.
  13. I was looking at it more of you are playing the crew for first time and learning there boundries. If you are playing a friendly match ask if it can be turf war just to see how the crew naturally works. Then you can easily see how things work and what to add or take away in other games. I wouldnt just simply set aside sorrows or poltergeist because they look weak is what im getting at. I like to use waldgiest to germinate trees infront of crew as they move up, this protects them till they are in opponents face. The stiched together also have creepy fog as a zero action that provides cover and they cause wp duels along with reactivate when they reach one wound.
  14. I have 12 malifauxs crews and love the game. I want to get more submerged into the story and background. Are there any books or any good reading materials you guys know of besides bits and pieces i find all over. Also i wasnt sure what to post this under, went with neverborn?
  15. I actually used the box set along with teddy in a tournament. If the strat is turf war or something that involves everyone going to one area the sorrows are so good. The look on the opponent's face when the realize what is going on if the havent seen them before is too funny. The sorrows do seem week, when i first played them i thought they were dumb. After using them though its awsome. They can move to base contact with an enemy model very easily. Get all 3 by your opponants models and everytime they fail a wp duel the opponent take s a damage from each one. 1 wp duel failing causes 3 damage right there, plus whatever your actually doing. When the enemy starts within one inch they lose a life too. The poltergeist uses paranormal activity by them to force more wp duels, pandora and candy force wp duels. Then have teddy and kade roam around. Teddy can move far with his movement along with kade moving him. The sorrows also only take half damage and pandora can choose to take it instead. Sorrows can paralyz the enemy and it might seem like ur wasting both your ap, your damage comes from them just sitting there by ur opponant though. Basically, play a game of turf war with them and youll see all the synergy.
  16. I agree about getting to know the crew. When i first started playing i bought the zoraida box. Got beat pretty bad not understanding what i needed or how stuff works best for you and schemes. I expanded crews very fast, i have still yet to play 2 of them. I currently have 9 and after playing more, understanding more models in the game and how to play i went back to zoraida and loved it. Just keep working with what you have and slowly expand that crew till you have a good understanding and a few options for diff games. I also read into a lot of other crews so i knew what things did. Knowing how your opponents models work is just as importent as knowing how yours work.
  17. I will probly pick it up at some point, still mainly want angel eyes. It looks like some of the other models could indeed be useful, at the very least just for trying new crews and games for fun. Want to try putting angel eyes with a guild crew using hunters or the peacekeeper. Ill just harpoon away and then blast them... If they survived anyways.
  18. The starter set is indeed a great box to buy if just starting out, with 4 on 4 action, tape measures, all are mercs and 2 fate decks! How usefull are the models in actual crews or competitive play though? I do enjoy Angel Eyes ability to shoot into engaged models, but ide like to hear from people on this. Have you guys used any of these models effectivly in your crews and how so?
  19. Ill be expanding the gremlins more for sure. Got to finish putting all these pigs together and paint them first. I was not a fan of wong at first, just because the models did not attract me that much. I read over him though and will probley end up with him
  20. Thanks for advice, i knew i would prolly need more of the bayou gremlins but already spent a bit. Will pick those up next paycheck. As for the stuffed piglets.. I dont know, just exciting knowing i can launch dynomite piglets across the board
  21. I just ran a game with Lucius. I used secret assets, dashel, 2 rifleman, 2 guards, scribe, hunter and peacekeeper. Killed all the enemy models except 2 playing against mei feng. Won 5-2 playing the new brakeout stratagy. Hunter pulled models who already activated in front of moving carriage. Peacekeeper engaged models while dashel and rifleman shot at models trying to avoid him or move around. If you have been playing half a year with him and your having trouble maybe hes just not for you. Its best to have different options for masters anyways, try another out. Maybe your pool to choose from to work with lucius is limited. If you get another guild master like lady justice you can benifit from all the models. Shes pretty straight forward.
  22. Just picked up Lady Justice and know you can basically take whatever you want with her, because her crew is pretty straight forward. Aside from the pine box tricks, what are your favorite combos and add ons? I know it depends on strategy and schemes. Im just curious what you guys like to run and why.
  23. I actually just ordered my gremlins yesterday. I got somer, ulix and story encounter for stuffed piglets❤. I also got slop, gracie, war pig, the sow, pigapult and piglets. Yes this is prolly a little more pricey. I feel it gives me 2 masters and complete 50 ss crews with pretty good options though. Always best to have another option so your opponant doesnt focus on knowing you have 1 choice for a master. I feel like i need to give another shout out to the stuffed piglets again.. So exited to launch them in the pigapult? with 24 inch range
  24. Seamus along with dead doxies, flesh construct and the hanged. Seamus can hide behind flesh construct for his back alley action. Like everyone else said... Seamus box has models used in a lot of crews as well
