Mephguour

Just getting into the game and curious how interchangeable minions are across masters in the same faction. It appears to me looking through the models that additional units are made specifically for a particular master (eg Rasputina and all of the wintry beasts) but I would have to image/hope that there are some synergies that would allow you to choose form the larger pool. Not from a rules standpoint but from a practicality stand point.

Getting back into the game and really interested in the Dreamer starter. I plan on playing my buddy who is also just starting with a starter ... but I have heard that Dreamer is not very playable with just the starter. Is that the general consensus? Was hoping to ease into collecting but may have to go with another faction if that is the case.

Do we have a henchman in this area??? I cant do this weekend but we did get in our first game last night and while there was a lot of learning I will say it was the most fun Ive had in a skirmish game to date. Sounds like we have a pretty good amount of people in the area ... I think in the next few weeks we can get some structure around things. @Eric ... great meeting you at GenCon !!! @Gewehr91 sorry for us hijacking your thread

@Xango ... that is awesome and pretty much the same struggly I went through. Luckily I dont care for Guild much so I am only down to about 100 other models I will collect.

I just bought my 3rd crew box and I havent even had my first game yet. I will by tomorrow but ... thats just silly.

Q1: Bite of Winter. Does this +1Dmg affect the Ice Gamin/Golems shatter damage? I've heard mixed things such as it affects OTHER shatters in the aura but not the models own shatter when it dies. Please clarify. Noob question about Bite of Winter also. Does the +1 DMG only come as a bonus from an additional attack, or does the spell itself do 1 DMG.

I only wish I had realized book 2 was only available at GenCon last weekend ...

I am going to talk to the owner and ask him to get some in. I prefer to support local but if he is only going to order what I need than I will probably just place an order with TheWarStore online.

Gamers Realm has been such a disappointment. I am supposed to get together with my other two friends to play our first games Thursday. We were going to play at my house but maybe we can head over to Madness Comics. Their new place is huge. I know Thursday is Warmachine night at Hobbytown ... let me chat with my pals and figure out what everyone can accommodate. If it plays as well as I am hoping than I would like to see if we can figure out a regular weekly or bi-weekly game night ...

Hey Ronald!! New Malifaux gamer here too. A couple of friends of mine get together at Area 51 and Hobbytown in Plano. Will be trying to figure out whats going on locally over the next couple of weeks. Three of us just picked up the game at Gencon and are trying to get through the rules for an initial game next week. These lesser demons were mainly used in ancient times by dark sorcerers in order to guide more powerful creatures conjured from hell in order to fulfill the evil purposes assigned to them by the mages. I have just returned from my first visit to GenCon. While I had first seen wyrd miniatures a few months back, admittedly they were a bit to weird for me to pursue. I had no interest in playing the skirmish style game. After checking out a demo and speaking with one of Wyrd's top guys (Eric Johns), not to mention a handful of hours ogleing the minis and books) I had to say I completely changed my mind. The quality of the minis, the great gaming mechanics, and the unique and creepy cool fluff converted me. Kudos to all of the volunteers and makers of Malifaux for using all of their passion and excitement to pull in one more gamer. I live in Dallas and will be setting up shop with a couple of my friends that have also recently purchased some starters at GenCon. I hope to grow our gaming group locally and set some fire to the forums here with gamers across the globe. I cannot wait to read (and share) battle reports and tactics from the many scraps that are going on. Glad to be a new member to the board and cannot wait to chat with all of you. ~Meph
