  1. Haven't try them together in one list, but i see your point. Defenitely worth trying.
  2. The positive thing about Recover Evidence is that it forces opponent to actually kill Ikiryo And that's what Kirai want him to do. The most terrible thing that could happen with Ikiryo is being ignored by opponent. And a good opponent will do it right that way - give Slow/Staggered, leave some cheap crap in engagement and that's it. With Recover Evidence even good opponent will kill her just because VP matters. And here comes the second Ikiryo
  3. The most important thing that you loose when take Doxy instead of Belle is WP attacks. Scarlet Tempatation don't affect Df based attacks. Doxy was a real star in M2E, but this days i'm actualy preffer Bellebecause of nice synergy with Scarlet Temptation, Lure and moreover "-" damage becomes "+" damage. It can be brutal with Unexpected Ferocity.
  4. Am i missing something, or pairings and not there yet?
  5. I'm thinking about Kirai as well. Yan Lo looks really good here, but i just personally don't have time to practive Yan Lo as well as it required. There are enough of fast movement in Kirai crew (because of Incorporeal mostly) to take enemies Symbols and Kira herself + Datsue Ba + some summon and Nurse is not so bad for protecting our Symbols.
  6. I would say that when i see my opponent is TT i think first think about Shenlong and Fuhatsu. In this way i would prefer something to deny heal and targeting friendly models - so it's Decay Aura (Emissary, Effigy) and Anna's auras. As for masters i would say Von Schtook's aura is pretty good against Shenlongs upgrades. As for versitile models - Emisarry is my favorite. He will die eventualy, but help against Fuhatsu - you can make Coffins for Cover and Zombies for engagement (so opponent need to spend AP to shoot with Fuhatsu). But to be honest, the most brutal matchup against TT was against McCabe... I want to think that it was so because i never saw McCabe in M3E before that, but he's Trample+MakeWay!+Unimpeded+Ride With Me+Push on Bull Whip is just damn crazy brutal when your crew is grouped.
  7. This case looks easy for me. "Legal subject of the sentence" it's not the same as "legal target according to game rules". There is an example - Another Scrap Marker - model is not a marker, so it's not a subject of the sentence. But didn't help us with Ricochet. It looks like it was more clear before FAQ appears
  8. Guys, about that silly Ricochet and "another" meaning - let's move to Rules discussion section
  9. He everyone. In this topic I saw a discussion about Another model and Ricoshet - https://themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/topic/151618-maniacals battle-reports-strategic-analysis/ Looks like we need a serios clarification for this case. Ricochet trigger says : Choose another model within 3" of the target. I have always read it as I should choose a model different to the target. You know, it's like ricochet works IRL - bullet hit something, change direction and goes to another target But then we got Neverborn's FAQ: It says that another means not the model from which the text is written. So in case of Ricochet it's not a shooter. So it could be the same target and Ricochet can hit one target twice which is silly. Please note that not all Malifaux players and native English speakers, so we really need clarification of "Another" meaning. I would be glad to see some discussion and different point's of view, especially from native english players, thank you
  10. Thanks for the event @dannydb . I wasn't a part of it, but it was a joy to check videos and results. Hope for some other Vassal activities this year
  11. Sorry for necroposting, but i must ask: 1. Can Crooligan discard a card for By Your Side in situation, when there are no non-Minion Forgotten on the table anymore? Just to trigger Fading. 2. Can Crooligan discard a card for By Your Side when he's holdin loadstone and can't be Placed?
  12. My biggest problem with Hidden Martyrs is to force opponent kill a model This is why i usualy take Martyrs on model that not hard to kill, but hard to avoid. It should be the model that opponent just want to kill even if he knows that it will give you VP. Archie + Crooligan combo looks nice. Archie can be pain in the *** if not killed and Crooligan can jump away to safety.
  13. Cool! Congratulations I couldn't watch the game, but i know that it was recorded - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8pIEjd693E&feature=youtu.be Waiting for you report, @Maniacal_cackle .
  14. GST do only 1 thing : Regen+2. It will be useful if Jack takes damage and there are no other way to heal him, which means you are pretty much in trouble anyway. Jack will not use Blasphemous ritual, because he have better bonus actions anyway. And no Terrifying of course, because he's not minion Whispers, otherwise, give Jack 2 useful things: 1) Intuition, which means you will have more chances to do what you want and not be surprised by unexpected flips 2) Jack is made for killing. Whisper give you card for killing. Card draw can be turned into heal if necessary. Same SS cost, but more profit from Whispers Also, as mentioned above, it's not rare to see 2 Hanged in crew and both of them would appreciate GST
  15. I see Asura as a trap. It looks good on paper, you can imagine lot of uselful things she do, but on practice - she don't. Let's see what she can and what she can't. Attack Tear Apart 2/3/5 with Puncture and build in positive flip is nice. But its' only 5 stat and 1" reach. It means that you have to be really close, but you don't want to be close, because you have only 5Df and no HtW, no Armor, no Serene or other good defensive abilities. Just HtK and SS. Decay is really nice. But it's 8", so it's the same problem - you will not survive. Zombie Apocalypse that what looks really good on paper... You can imagine how you summon Zombie on the other part of the table in enemy Deployment and that Zombie goes and place markers for Breakthrough or other schemes. But on practice: You need card AND a stone to do it Zombie is Mindless, so it can't activate this turn You can't use Re-Animate to force them to place marker - it's not their activation and they are still Insignificant Will that zombie survive till next turn if your opponent see whats comming? And remember, opponent even don't have to kill Zombie (which is easy) - it's enough to just break LoS to Asura. Or break Asura, it will also works Let's imagine you don't wanna Come to Me trigger. Than why do you want it? Just summon lot of corpse markers? OK, i can see that it can be good for stitching up Flesh Construct with McMourning for example, or make an Ashigaru + Blasphemous Ritual for example. But does it really worth hiring 8SS model for that? For me - no. I don't see a room for Asura neither in McMourning crew, not in a crew with Toshiro. Bonus action Re-Animate - looks good, that's true. But how many Zombies we have? Zombie Chihuahua Flesh Construct Dead Dandy Guild Autopsy Rotten Belle Dead Doxy Rabble Riser Madam Sybelle So it's just Redchapel and Experimental. Do McMourning crew need Asura - i think not, because she doesn't fit. Does Seamus need her? Well....maaaybe if you focused on keyword models. Mindless Zombies could be good for Seamus bonus action, and it can be useful to do an extra Lure with Belle, extra attack with Sybelle. But again - very situational. Does Molly need Asura? I don't know, let's ask @Maniacal_cackle Von Schtook doesn't need her because it's a common problem - not enough SS to hire. She can heal Undead but i would better hire Sloth for the same reason - he's cheaper, more tough, have nice Aura and can give Fast. Yan Lo - don't see why he would need Zombies and he's usualy in keyword. Jack - don't see a reason for Asura to be in he's crew, it's better to take additional Hanged for same cost I don't know nothing about Reva, never played with her in M3E, so maybe someone else will say the word. So let's sumarise, what Asura is good for? She is good for blast damage with built in Injury +1. But she will not survive long on that short distance. Do you need such tool for 8SS?
  16. It's not about preventing dmg with SS flip, it's about make a flip negative, so Seamus can't cheat. Yes, of course he can still get 2 Severe on negative flip, but that's just a pure luck. Giving straight flip to Seamus always means 8-9 dmg. Giving negative usually means just 4.
  17. I'm for GST as well. Whisper is good also, but only in case if you are going to kill with Rider and you know how to save him in bad situtations.
  18. Seamus with Belles and idead around expolits "Why hello love" is really good. I'm working on it as well right now. Had couple of games and it performs fantasticly fun. Not too powerfull because it's easy to conter, but still very fun. I need about 4-5 games more and maybe will wright some thoughts.
  19. Well, let's find out why Dead Rider is amazing 6Df and 7Wp makes him pretty tough. It means that you can make a negative dmg flip most of the time even if opponent used focus. 7Mv, Unimpeded and Ride With Me means that he's really mobile, you can cover really big distances for youe needs. Damag line is 3/4/5. 3 minimum is good in M3E. Reap trigger is so good, it allows you to cover even more distances and replace you opponent. Deny some Corrupted Idols, Claim Jump e.t.c. Place opponent in treat range of your other models - it's not rare to see how Dead Rider grab key model and just bring it some death zone. Ride With Me is pretty straightforward - drive your other models or just make an extra 5" Push to reach your destination. You know, he can cover 19", make an Attack and cover 2-4-6-8 or even 10" more on trigger. Taking opponent's model with him and it could just win the game. Revel in Death is a toolbox. Injury+1 for everyone in 6" (with 50mm base) its huge and they even can't resisit. Spinning Scytche is nice, it's 3 mininmum damage again, but you better save those crows for other triggers unless you absolutely need to finish someone. The Dead Hate th Living is so fun If you have corpses it could be just a local zombie apocalypse. 1 or 2 zombies is not a big deal. But let it be 3 or 4 - that's when things become interesting. First of all those zombies can attack and even if they don't kill, they do some damage and give Poison and remember that it's almost for "free" - you want to do Revel in Death anyway to give Injury. The most useful trick is that Zombies, even if they don't kill, even if they don't do damage, they still engage and cover important zones with their bodies. Remeber, that opponent can't do Interract after Disengage. Let's say you do this on the last turn in the middle of the table. You get, let's say 3 Zombies in 6" pulse. Each of them activates and go for 8" (double walk, or walk+charge). So now 3 opponent's models are engaged and can't place markers this turn - they can't do it after disengage and they need to spend at least 1AP to kill Zombie and usualy it's not enough AP left to go wherever they want to put a marker. Of course there are lot of ways to leve engage without disengage action, but you know what? Let it be your opponent headache, because you didn't do much to make those dificults. And last trigger - Soulfire. 2/3/4 + Injury and ignoring HtK for everyone in 6" pulse. 2/3/4 is not the best damage, i know, but the trick is that opponent don't resisnt and it's a straight flip, so you can cheat for 4 dmg. I know that it will cost you some cards, but if it's just a begining of last turn it can be huge - give Injury for lot of models, do damage serious to lot of models, maybe even kill someone and get Soulstones. Let's talk about how Chasing Fate works. First tuen it's just 1 Fate token (crow for your duels). Second turn it's already 3. it means you can, for example, Ride with Me for 5", walk for 7", charge for 7" and push back for 6" grabbing a key model to kill. Let's say you save your tokens on Second turn. It means you have 6 on Third turn and you can do Soulfire. From now you can do Soulfire every next turnю It doesn't mean you have to, but you can - toolbox, as i said. And you know, it's even better if your opponent is awared that you can do it - he don't sure, will you do it or not, but he must consider it can be done while planning his positions. Let's talk about downsides. 3Sz - everyone will see Rider from far away. Only 9Wd - be prepeared to heal him somehow (GST is not a bad option). He's enforcer, so he can't use Soulstones (our Rider is not so dirty like Arcanists). 11 cost, it's a good target for Vendetta, Public Enemies. So be careful with what you doing, Rider pretty much alway is a primary target. As for synergy with our Masters - i would try to be short: Seamus - Reap trigger can bring someone into Seamus engage for Hello My Love. Von Schtook - you will easily make Dead Rider Fast most of the time and Ride With Me on first turn will help you to position your Master well. Molly, McMourning, Jack - again, Ride With Me and Reap - taxi your master so they don't spen AP for move or bring enemies to your master's treat range.
  20. It's 6-3 for Colette. @Kharnage will tell more (i hope). Video is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vN4FLLEDK98&feature=youtu.be
  21. Well it not "stop" healing, it makes opponent think more careful about placing and healing. This days it's a common thing to see some beater tanking you because of self heal (Regen, Jaggernaut) and some extra heal from friendly models (Sun Quiang, Spit Hog e.t.c , you know what i mean). If Sloth is near you gave Sin tokens for passive heal and after that your opponent just cant heal beater with a big heal. That's it, and you done nothing for that. So you don't hire Sloth for that Aura, you do it for his Bonus Action, his ability to give Fast to all students, punks, undergrad's and Vale and for his ability to give Slow to opponent. Aura is just a cherry on top of the pie :)
  22. To be honest i'm not so good with Von Schtook's crew yet... But i must say that Sloth is too good to avoid. It's just fit's in every playstile. You want an Alpha strike with Vale and Undergraduates? Sloth will give those minions Fast, so it's 4 attacks after By Your Side. You want to be supportive and more secured? Sloth will give you 3Wd heal without card flips. You want to abuse your opponent with auras? Well, you already have Von Shctook's "deny-enemy-upgrades" aura, Anna's "no-place-here" and "stop-targeting-your-friends". Wanna more? OK - Sloth will give you "think-twice-before-heal"
  23. When are you going to play? It would be interestiong to see the result. Plaag is nice player and good opponent, don't be fooled by his maner of talking on forum
  24. I would say - be aware of Mechanical Rider, not masters. This guy win games. Soulstone Cache is really strong faction upgrade.
  25. Good plan Definitely depends on tournament meta, but still good one
