  1. Do place effects work on him (like lilith tangle)?
  2. The main way I've been running brewmaster with success is as follows. Brewmaster: Running tab, Binge Sensei Yu: Wandering river style, peaceful waters Low river monk Terracotta warrior Yasunori: either Smoke Grenades or Equality. Wesley (Insert second combat model: Bettarhi, Ama No Zako, Yin, Envy, Sue) Terracotta always turns Running Tab into Misdirection on first activation. Mainly, its debuff stuff with brew and kill it with the other models. Sensei helps everyone get where they need to go. Drinking contest can work, you just need to swill them and you can lock down 2ish models with brewmaster.
  3. Simply put, you can't take FAQ questions related to attacks and apply it to interacts. Almost all points are scored as a result of interacts or attacks,(some are just being in the right spot). But of the two, the best we can see is when my model takes an interact to put a scheme marker down, it belongs to me, regardless of who controlled it at the time. You may be right about the intent santa, but currently as written there is simply no text that tells me that the enemy crew would score the head.
  4. It would seem like we didn't get an official answer last time either.
  5. The enemy model belongs to your opponent's crew, and took a (1) action to remove the head. I believe this counts as your opponents crew scoring the point.
  6. It is entirely situational, having a cheap model that you CAN sac to get chi turn one might be important if you run up against a list that will rush into you. Chi is an important resource, its foolish to not consider options that can provide more to you on turn one. That said, I've like having 2 goryo and sun quaing, you don't sac anything and your models are all healed easily

    Sun Quiang

He's solid in most strategies. He is a great support piece and can scheme better than most models.
  8. I've been running this: McCabe: Promises, Badge or Sabre, 2ss upgrade that gets replaced. Luna 4x guild hounds Yasinori, smoke grenades Shadow Emissary, conflux of Exploration (takes Badge or Sabre, which ever McCabe doesn't take). Terracotta Warrior I find that terracotta switching one upgrade on mccabe to either a second badge or second sabre, is fantastic. The list moves very quickly with the extra nimble, and you can push Yasinori 12" and give him fast and nimble.
  9. I was thinking more wesley pick your poison and brewmaster, each can get both triggers.
  10. But Pick your poison "obey" to attack is not.
  11. Yas seems great with McCabe, Brewmaster and Asami. Everything is good with Shen
  12. Exactly true about gremlins, their internal balance is very poor, all the best models are very obvious.
  13. Who cares? Do we even know if Show is staying around in GG2017?
  14. As the TT player who came in 17th at nationals, I will tell you, I've been playing Mali for about a year now, the championships were my 3rd Malifaux tournament and I only had the following models painted and availible for use. Shen long, 2 peasants, sensei Yu, shadow emissary, lust, 2 katanaka snipers, 1 illuminated, 2 Jurogumo, Katamatchi, Luna, McCabe, 3 guild hounds, 1 austringer, Dawn serpent, Yin, 1 Samurai So, my choices were rather limited. That said I played shen 5 times, McCabe once. I went 3-3 with all of my loses being 1-2 points, I wasn't out of any game until the final turn ended. My worst was stake game, since I was against marcus leap crew and fell being on stake. Taking this as an example of anything, isn't appropriate. Comparing us to Gremlins isn't appropriate, as Gremlins have one of the top 3 masters in the game and he can be used in 80%+ of games. The biggest thing TT lack is that be-all end-all master for the faction that some others tend to have, like Somer, like Sonnia, Like (old)Levi (perhaps now Jack). Where you can just learn one master who is so solid you can play it in 4/5 games and be in a solid situation. Our best comparison to that is Shen Long, who while solid, is simply not on the level of the others. Wave 4 is just fine for TT, we got a Master that will surely be in our top3, a "rider", and Terracancer, who is solid with most of our masters.
  15. I disagree, when you start flipping 3 cards per attack, and might have 5 or so attack per turn, you are fishing out your black joker. Also, I find smoke grenades is extremely helpful on him so he can't be shot down or lured out once he's stuck in. Not saying smoke is always better, but recalled isn't always the answer.
  16. I'd say the bigger deal is putting Ototo with the correct lists, Masters/other models that can help him. He's slow, and easy to hurt, but hard to kill. So models that can move him around and/or heal him. For example, Shen can help him a lot. A list with both Sensei Yu and Yan lo is great. Shadow emissary can move him around and give him fast (ditto shen/sensei). McCabe can also push him and give him nimble. In a slower list, Mei can help protect him from ranged threats with venting steam.
  17. All the Oni have play with her, Katamachi is an alternate totem for you that has play in certain builds. So far some people like katanaka snipers with her. I like Low river monks for healing. Ten thunder brothers. Perhaps Killjoy since Asami summons can be a delivery system for him.
  18. They are also just durable minions for McCabe to reactivate and/or throw a sabre to
  19. Damage on the stack is not damage dealt. You cannot prevent/reduce damage that hasn't been successfully inflicted. Or do you guys think you should stone to prevent damage, or use haberdasher before damage is actually flipped? Do you guys understand the logical flow of how action/reaction works in this game, it should be obvious that the damage is never done. In ever other case, "after damaging" triggers are not able to be used if there is no damage suffered. Get off this "its not a trigger so it works different" NO, it does not, the requirements are the same. It requires damage to be done, if damage is not done, it cannot work. For everyone complaining about "time traveling rules", if the models never suffers the damage, how can you claim that it did?
  20. You don't need izamu or archers for either master. McCabe likes solid minions, like the dawn serpent or Jurogumo. He also really likes Guild Hounds and Austringers. Shen likes to have a little bit of shooting(or a lot). So Katanaka snipers are solid with him, I've really enjoyed Lust/Samurai/Johan/Lone Swordsman. Both of them like the Shadow Emissary (more shen), but the Emissary is excellent in general so you should pick it up.
  21. An enforcer who gains peon is still an enforcer. So for Bounty it would still count as the higher one(or sum, whatever), it is still an enforcer for hunting party etc.., but it is ALSO a peon for certain things like leave your mark, guard the stash etc..
  22. Yes... I listed McCabe before Brewmaster in my first reply. The OP had follow up questions RE: brewmaster.
  23. Exactly Eclipse. But the Obeys don't hurt either, moving them up, or taking an attack with them can be sweet too. Don't forget an obey attack can trigger "Eat your fill" even though it is out of activation.
  24. Asami, McCabe and Brewmaster help Jurogumo the most.
