  1. I really both the gunsmiths and the silent ones in the February upcoming releases. Especially the gunsmiths. The gunsmiths do have a different feel to them this time however. The look a bit more old west and a bit less techno-punk. I like them both, but they look like they might fit a tad better with the guild than with the Arcanists.
  2. You could get up to 17 with Lazarus as part of a Colette crew. You’ll need Lazarus – 11 Imbued Energies – 1 Colette – 0 Imbued Energies – 1 Cassandra – 8 Hannah – 11 Malifaux Child – 3 Performer – 5 Lazarus can start with IE and Auto Fire (4), Cassie borrows prompt (5), Child borrows prompt (6), Hannah borrows prompt via Cassie’s understudy (7), and then Colette prompts four times with IE (11). Finally, once per game, Colette triggers final act to reactivate Lazarus who adds another three shots (14). By adding a sacrificial Performer in there you can reactivate Colette who can bring the total to 17 shots but you’ve now sacrificed 16 points on your own side! If you skip the sacrificial components you bring it back to a mere 11 shots, but they’re actually pretty easy to achieve (6 required for prompt) versus some of the other methods. You’re probably better off with a trio of doves over Malifaux Child for damage.
  3. Is it concerning that 1st, 2nd, and 3rd were all neverborn?
  4. They're a little beefier than I would have expected, which makes them not as bird-like as I pictured. They're almost cartoonish if the pictures do them justice. I'd like to see some close ups.
  5. Anyone know what the bonus model in there is?
  6. Always trying to make me choose between football and Malifaux! Not nice.
  7. I think you should have two you like to make a faction worth it, just to keep you opponents on their toes a bit. If they always know what you're coming with you're at a slight disadvantage.
  8. In shifting loyalties one of my lightning bugs received an injury (Blood Hex) that requires him to discard a card if he wants to declare a trigger. He also has to declare a trigger when using his magic blasty stick if able. I think, since he isn't able to declare a trigger unless he discards a card that he doesn't have to declare a trigger and discard a card if he does have a card in hand. It would be optional. Correct?
  9. Nothing wrong with fireworks! On the subject of activations, the faction has some solid low-cost minions. You could easily field several Wastrels, Ten Thunder Brothers, and Tengu for quite a few. I think all three of those have merit. As someone mentioned above, the Wastrels can even sneak in some blasts with a little luck. Add in Toshiro who can have a pretty nice impact on a munch of minions.
  10. Francois is actually the only henchman you have in that box, so he's the one you'll have to go with. I would be careful with him and start with Stilts as an upgrade and get Dirty Cheater when you can. He specializes in dealing massive damage, but often doesn't live to the end of the game (because he can do a fair bit of damage to himself as he craters the enemy). That sort of attrition is acceptable for gremlins most of the time, but there are some consequences if you're doing something like Shifting Loyalties. If there is no game to game retention of skills & wounds it isn't as much of a challenge. Either way, Francois is pretty fantastic.
  11. Obviously you can sprinkle in some mercenaries as needed if you need more blasting capability. Out of curiosity, why are you looking for blasts in TT? Is there something specific you want to be able to do?
  12. I find I'm really starting to prefer lightning bugs over either the Bushwackers or Bayou Gemlins. They do solid damage (although shorter range) and have really good utility.
  13. That isn't a square actually. It's another set of two camouflage leaves that slots in back there. It's actually a relatively long piece, it just looks short in that picture.
  14. Completely agree. They were really well done. Even the lightning bug magical effects were vastly improved over the relatively recent Oxfordian Mages in my opinion.
  15. I ended up choosing Trixiebelle for this one (along with Lenny, Mancha Roja, Lightning Bug, & a Bayou Gremlin). So I guess I didn't decide between Mancha and Trixie but took them both (although shes the leader)! Only one game in so far, which ended in a tie. Nobody was injured and Mancha Roja got the off hand attacks skill following the game (+ flips melee). So far so good.
  16. He's fantastic. Especially when he's glowy. Forget about all of the triggers, a glowy Mancha Roja will make a red stain of damn near anything in the game. You don't need to paralyze it! He's about on par with Langston and behind maybe only Victoria of Blood in terms of raw damage output. Even when he's not glowy he packs a respectable punch with 3x Ml7 (one thousand masks) 2/5/6 attacks. I don't think extra gremlin is worth it. I will take it if Lenny is along, but even then it doesn't come up very often (you charge - you kill). Last game I took Trixie, Lenny, and Mancha to create a high-priced assault squad that moves pretty quickly. With Lenny give rams for I never and extra gremlin nothing survives. I didn't get to use extra gremlin once though (everything still died).
  17. Gremlins - Trixiebelle & Mancha Roja (they're actually fun together too with the I Never trigger giving Mancha additional attacks) TT - I really like Sidir. I've been using him in upgrade heavy crews (2x samurai, Chiaki, Brewmaster) with promises and by your side. It helps make up for the samurai willpower and makes them fantastic in melee. He does well himself in melee & ranged and has a self heal to boot.
  18. Does a trigger that causes damage from an attack which ignores armor also ignore armor. Specifically I'm looking at the lightning bug's magic blasty stick (ignores armor) and the green wrath trigger (does 2 damage in pulse). Does the green wrath ignore armor? I would assume so based on the closest thing I could find in the FAQ: 19) Q: Does the damage flip from the Slug Trigger count as part of the original Action? Is it modified by things like the Accuracy Modifier and Focus? A: Yes, Triggers are a part of the Action which caused them and the damage flip from Slug would retain any modifiers to the original flip including Accuracy, Focus, cover, etc. I couldn't find an answer searching this forum that is any closer. Thanks
  19. Sidir might be a bit slow for this role, but I really like him as a henchman. His upgrades (promises and by your side) make him a good buffer if you're running upgrade heavy crews so he works well for me since I like samurai. He is fairly adept in both ranged and melee and does have a self heal, which can be handy.
  20. Yeah, I really don't like creating new accounts for things. I bail out on quite a bit when faced with that. I immediately bailed on the drive thru site when I saw that. I may manage to go back and get it, but it'll be an internal struggle.
  21. I think that's the way I'll go (Trixie that is).
  22. How about McCabe + Brewmaster 10T? They both have some interesting uses for samurai, 10T brothers, and Sidhir I think. Both could give you some dual faction fun as well with some guild hounds and Tri Chi built in for certain scenarios.
