  1. Keep in mind that while Adeodatos can't move the Goryshche around with Twisting Paths, the Doomseekers CAN with their Translocation Ritual! Also, as per the FAQ, if a non-Titan's standing on top of a Portal Marker she can walk through them onto the Portal Marker and go through it, which is a handy little escape she (and Horo) can pull off.
  2. The Frenzy can take Nipping at most 4 times during one activation (one each, plus the free one for being a Commander)
  3. If you take him in the Cult and he gets killed, you can summon a new Horo in with Time Paradox (though it costs you a VP)! Also, there are currently two Assets you can use his Force of Will trigger on, Relics of Ancient Malifaux and Tide Caller so you should always take at least one of them.
  4. All members of a Squad must be within 8" of each other (including Combined Arms if they're attached to a Squad).
  5. Spoilers(?) for M3e talk below: There are three actions that act like that (on Sparks, Earl Burns, Hoffman, Steamfitters, and this) and the main reason seems to be that even though it's healing them since it's an opposed duel it's still affected by accuracy - so if you relent to get the heal, that 1/2/3 is on a
  6. All of them except Adjuncts and Prototypes (you Disable them to flip over, and Scrapping them is an option on the back which would then be face up)
  7. Allegiance box v box is the best way to go IMO, until they get a starter box out there. I'm doing Cult v Hordes demos because that's what I have, but I'd suggest having one of the Earthside Allegiances as well for people who like more "normal" armies to try. When you're doing your demo, keep it basic. I don't have people use Stratagems until their second game, I explain that they exist and that's it for now. Just have people play a game and go over Orders, Actions, Duels, Cheating, using Tokens, and scoring VP. So basically the quick and interesting parts of what makes TOS unique, and if they show interest then you can mix up lists a bit, add in stratagems, and all that.
  8. The Rules forum's your best bet but I'm sure they check here too.
  9. For Forests specifically I think it's got to be a typo, both Concealing and Blocking really doesn't make sense.
  10. 1) All LoS to and from the model would be blocked. Blocking terrain really should be used only with Impassable IMO for that reason. 2) Yes, objects are ignored for Cover (and Cover only) if they're within 2" of the model. You really shouldnt be using big long pieces of terrain in TOS for this reason
  11. The trigger does not change the direction, it only changes the distance.
  12. That was always a "maybe down the road, we'll see" thing, never 100%. That said, I know some people'd jump on it for sure.
  13. FIRETEAMS AND MOVING: When a Fireteam is moved by an Action or Ability of another unit, that Fireteam is moved up to a maximum distance allowed by the Action or Ability. If the Fireteam is part of a Squad, every other Fireteam in the Squad moves as well, but only up to half the maximum distance allowed by the Action or Ability. The player that controls the Action or Ability may choose which Fireteam to move first, and all movement must still follow the rules for Formation. Yes, you always move the whole unit as per Interactions With Squads. The trigger only increases the movement to full instead of half distance for the non-targeted Fireteams.
  14. "TIMING: Sometimes, two effects have the same timing. In these cases, the Acting Player (see callout above) can choose the order in which the effects resolve." The attacker chooses who gets hit first.
  15. That's the M3e Bonus Action symbol, I suspect they called it a TOS symbol so as to not spoil M3e early. But I totally agree those three missing symbols should get added!
  16. They're mostly Qi & Gong now, but similar idea
  17. Toward and Away: "Some movement effects cause objects to move “toward” something or “away” from something. When this happens, the object in question is moved directly toward or away from the indicated object in a straight line, using the center of the object for reference. If the object is moving “toward” something, it must end its movement closer to that object, if possible. If it is moving “away” from something, it must end its movement farther from that object, if possible." So, when the Stormsiren Siren's Call you to move towards a Tide Pool, the point you're moving towards is not actually the Tide Pool but the center point of it. All movement must be in straight lines, and you have to end the movement as close as possible to it.
  18. B, you get as close as possible to the center of the Tide Pool.
  19. "Target Fireteam takes an Action printed on one of its attached Prototype Assets, then draw a card." I would argue that since you "then" draw a card that if you don't take the Action you don't draw the card (taking the Action would essentially be the "cost" for drawing).
  20. It's balanced around both 1C and 2C games, but 2C's closer to Malifaux 50ss activation-count-wise so it's probably going to be considered the more "real" game size. Game length is going to be hard to tell at this point with everyone still learning, but I did a 1C demo game last night with two brand new players and they finished a game including learning the basics in under 2.5 hours, so maybe half that for players who know their crews inside and out?
  21. RE: flyers, strongly disagree but YMMV. We already know there's more units coming out, the back of the core rulebook teases the next couple allegiances and envoys.
  22. 1) No, they are still Titans and they are not Squads (you cannot pass off damage from Champions onto a Walker/Cutter), though they still have to follow Cohesion if they're the CA in a unit that is otherwise made of Squad Fireteams 2) No, the unit includes a Titan and thus the unit is deployed in the Titan step
  23. List and reasoning sounds pretty good! Regarding Envoys and Assets, in the Hire Your Company section it says: "All Assets must be attached to units that share at least one Allegiance with them."
  24. Weird, I haven't heard of that before. Got any examples?
