  1. Librarians and Trappers both get scarier when ran in pairs. It saddens me that I can't get them outside of a Von Schill box.
  2. Updated list of things for sale and wants for trade! Notable add: metal Perdita crew!
  3. Kirby

    Sold.

How much would you be looking to sell them for?
  4. Updated list! Some sold, some added - including the plastic Torch and Blade crew box, cleanly assembled and unpainted.
  5. I don't feel that To the Earth Return and Desolate Soul interfere with each other. You will aim for rams when targeting a fresh high-wound model because it deals half of the model's current remaining wounds and aim for crows when you're going to kill the target. With Channeling for a "free" positive flip on attack and damage, you generally have a pretty good idea of when you are looking to kill something with Unmaking.
  6. Wow. That's just mean. Gonna have to try that against my Nicodem buddy...
  7. The only time I've found summoning a Desolation Engine to be worthwhile is when I was already ahead, so it was more of a nail-in-the-coffin situation. For the points I'd hire Ashes and Dust, and if I felt the need for a second beater I'd hire Killjoy - who would pop out of the A&D delivery system.
  8. Ah, so start with Killjoy buried, walk - unbury - fast pulse, Killjoy activates and charges something?
  9. Is this the method for a Turn 1 Fast Killjoy drop? Killjoy starts on the board 1AP to Fast/Bury Killjoy 2AP to walk forward 8" to somewhere safe Reactivate at end of your turn 2AP to walk another 8" ending in such a way that Killjoy will have someone to charge and hopefully Tara will remain safe from retaliation 1AP to unbury Killjoy in base-to-base with Tara Fast Killjoy charges target and proceeds to eat things
  10. Ah, that's always a fun conversation. Unfortunately my opponent was Nicodem so Pokey Vik got two punk zombies to the face next turn. Oh well, took out Mortimer the chatty gravedigger at least.
  11. I don't use Tara's stones for too much, so I'm generally happy burning one to cycle cards. I don't have Hannah yet, but looking forward to trying her out with the Tara crew.
  12. The giant post has a section discussing Karina's summons. Over the course of the game you should (on average) pull a 9 to your hand at least twice, and likely a 12 or better on one of those. I've only bothered with Guild Autopsies and Punk Zombies, but I also don't really have the University of Transmortis set and I don't feel the need to summon Crooligans when I have Night Wretches running about.
  13. MasterDisaster posted a couple over on the Outcast board that I'd like to give a whirl: Hannah Freikorps Librarian Freikorps Librarian Johana or Taelor Johana Freikorps Librarian Ronin Edit: Holy necropost batman! I saw "April" on the prior posts but didn't see then 2014 part.
  14. True enough, no question there. And even if your opponent does mitigate her free charge, that's still dictating your opponent's activation. At worst it's one less Crooligan bouncing around your back field dropping schemes.
  15. Taelor is nice, but sometimes her (0) Welcome to Malifaux requires some setup to use properly. Since she has to activate early to do it, your opponent summoning things before she activates gets around it pretty easily. Alternatively, if there are models around that can block the charge lane then she loses out there too.
  16. Welcome to the Outcasts! As a Guild member, do you happen to also have Death Marshals? If so, between the Marshals and Hannah you have plenty of makings for a heavy burial playstyle. Even without the Marshals you have access to that, but they tend to make friendly burying easier. Tara loves having Hannah tag along. Tara has plenty of good (1) Ca spells for her to copy even without the burial trigger and with the Ancient Tomes upgrade Hannah can bury people on her own. Of course, Hannah is great overall so don't feel like she has to stick to one particular thing each turn. As far as getting use from Von Schill's crew, the Librarian is a solid piece and appreciates the Wp debuff Tara can bring. She also helps keep people topped off in cases of incidental damage such as when handing out Fast to friendlies with the direct spell. The trapper is likewise solid, but mostly just as a gap-filler. He's a good gun, deploys anywhere on the board, and is decent in melee all for six points. Hard to argue with that, especially with a master that tends not to contribute too much to the ranged damage aspect of the game. Be sure to give this a read! It'll make more sense after a game or two with Tara, but it's good stuff overall: http://spiralingcadaver.blogspot.com/2014/04/sounds-of-silence-tara-and-obliteration.html
  17. I just meant needing something in range to do it. With Wk5 it's not so bad, but alternatively you could just beat its head in. I seem to remember knowing how she buried stuff before, but the ability name is slipping my mind now. Never mind, it's her upgrade.
  18. Takes a fair amount of setup, but certainly doable. A little gamey if your opponent is totally unaware that such a thing exists, but burial shenanigans certainly aren't unique to Hannah.
  19. Things that either prevent corpse tokens from forming or erases corpse tokens. Leveticus & Friends that turn things into Abominations is always good, but there's also Sue with the Peace in the Valley trigger or the Freikorps Specialist.

  21. Hey gang! With Tara's new henchman's final beta rules I've been looking at trying it out on the table. However, I'm a fair bit at a loss. I'm sure it's worth the 8 points, but I don't think I'm fully grasping how to use it. The Returning Home ability seems to give it a high level of survivability if you can guarantee an unbury later on, but otherwise he doesn't have any defensive stats and not that resilient. Further, if minions use his abilities then he takes damage while buried. I guess he's made to go along with the Void Wretches healing, but then you're spending their entire activations doing that instead. I dunno, he seems... odd.
  22. I hear ya. I want two of the Upgrade cards from Arsenal 1 and one or two from Arsenal 2. I'd really prefer not to pay $35 for three or four cards.
  23. I have a bunch of Cryx, almost the whole range on hand. Is there anything in particular you're after? I am mostly interested in Santana.
  24. Spending the entire game hiding a 7 wound, no defensive ability model doesn't tend to be a good use of your Master, especially one that excels in melee combat.
