  1. Scratch what I said about battle for salvation, I talked to Bob last night and he said he wasn't going to have time to run it this year..
  2. Or you burnt some high cards and still lost initiative. I rarely find the space for it. I may try using it more but I find more use out of other upgrades on most masters.
  3. Bob Roda my local henchman ran it last year, with terrain support from the NOVA guys. I believe he is Stupid Bob on these forums. I'm pretty sure he was planning to run it again this year. Last ear it was 5 rounds over 2 days at the palisades mall in conjunction with the large 40k event held there.
  4. Depends how many games you'll get in before the event. The less table time you have the more I lean toward playing what you know.
  5. Just as a heads up on the 10/10 date that is the same weekend as battle for salvation which also is running at malifaux tourney, and is probably 20 min from Nu brand. Having 2 events right on top of each other might be less than ideal for both. Just food for thought. Otherwise I had a great time, great event and venue. My only slight criticisms would be parking at the venue is a slight issue if things continue to grow, and you guys should find a way to shrink down 4x4 boards a bit better, at my lgs we use strips of 6"x12" foam or felt on the edges, it is just a pain to continually need to measure the table edge during the game on those tables.
  6. Funny I don't rate it highly at all as an upgrade unless I have extra space. I'd certainly never run it against neverborn, or gremlins who may be able to cheat the flip. Then again I just plan around losing the initiative.
  7. Yeah models abilities only have an effect when the model is part of the game. It is broken otherwise because Colette now becomes the most powerful summoner in the game. As in a showgirl crew you could summon(place) 28 mannequins or doves each turn. That is going close to full out and would be unneeded but would be crazy. As for moving a mannequin I believe you would need to be able to target it but this is less clear.
  8. I use it quite often. Cassandra being my primary target....especially if something like bodyguard or entourage are in play. With her soul stone use, southern charm, and df 7 it makes her very tough to kill. Throw in smoke and mirrors and she drops schemes when people try. I also like it on a rouge necromancy with Marcus. Gets him up to average df, with terrifying 13 and impossible to wound, with myranda gaming out a plus flip and healing it makes him tough to deal with. The thing to remember is that it is +1 df and essentially 2 additional wounds. It is not an always take, but with the right schemes and strategies I like it.
  9. I also feel like this is only remotely true on turn 1 or any turn where you have not built your hand/deck. Between stones and start of run discards you can really mitigate your luck. Something that never happens in a dice game.
  10. You could also kill a performer to reactivate Colette or use Cassandra to prompt Colette with final act and use Colette's prompt off that to prompt killjoy.
  11. You'd need nothing beast with void shield to get the buried model.
  12. Isn't her bury an action. You cannot take actions while buried (so far as I'm aware).
  13. It seems like it could work but would be suboptimal. I could see using hoar cats and molemen in teams to scheme run, but that seems less than ideal. Then you have the bigger nastier beasts.
  14. It's ok but seems too easy to avoid. Plus Marcus is hardly hurting for any of those schemes. My feeling is that if my strategy is based on my opponent acting a certain way it is a poor one. I mean you are spending 13ss to make his happen, and there is no guarantee theyl'll kill the raptor (smart play says they won't).
  15. Marcus v Marcus is probably one of the worst. Both crews would consistently be at negative flips, alpha would work on everything etc.
  16. Also the obvious counters to this are: 1.) force negative flips on the gremlins (no cheating) 2.) get your own positive flips(doesn't stop him but at least puts you on even ground.)

    Surprising I don't find him all that suit hungry. But if I did I certainly would not add another cat for leaping which needs a suit. What models are you using that you find need suits so much.
  18. As others have said a no interacts bubble, or blocking with other models will works. Short I that you could always kill your own master. Now that is not always the best choice but if frame an deliver are in play it could deny 6 vp....so might be worth it.
  19. I believe Molly has a pair of upgrades that allow her to summon other models (such as horrors) using ones left behind.
  20. I would always go myranda. Just for flexibility. Need cojo to pick up markers...done Need a second cat (or replacement for the first) done. Need a snake and respawn a jackelope.... Done I also feel like miners are hit and miss, but are not bad. Just that there might be a better way to spend those points.
  21. In stake a claim I prefer to have a faster runner placed with each moleman to lead them out. Often something like a canine remains. Their walk 6 means that you can use them to move drop a scheme and then move the moleman 6"+ away from the last squat to place a new marker. Having say 2 such teams and a wk 8 Marcus gives you 3 threats to claim each turn (at least.). Beyond that given that type of set up I'm not sure a special protect territory team is needed. You'll have a ton of schemes down already. Also cojo only picks up schemes not claim markers, so I'm not sure he is worth 10 points
  22. @sg6 The interact rules state you cannot take an iteract while engaged unless it targets an enemy model. So distracting your opponent targets an enemy model, getting rid of distract does not.
  23. Even with that Tara crew you could go for line in the sand, then try to deny points on reckoning, essentially though unless you are actively building a bad crew you won't have this issue.
