  1. Just a quick check on the definition of Reactivate. “Reactivate : A module with the Reactivate Condition is available to be Activated one additional time during this Turn, as if it had not already taken its Activation. A model may not benefit from the Reactivate Condition more then once per Turn even if it lost the Reactivate Condition and then gained it again.” So am I right in thinking, a module can gain the Reactivate condition before it is Activated the first time in a turn? This means on the first turn, I can use my Brass Arachnid to give Howard Langston Reactivate, then when I activate Howard he can use his, 2 Aps and Nimble, to walk 5” 3 times, and with his next activation he can walk 5” with the fast and use his 2 Aps to charge 6”. So in turn one Howard can charge 26”, or walk into combat 20” and Flurry 3 MI attacks. Note: I would also give him Imbued Energies so he can have a extra AP once in the game too.
  2. Just want to check, we are doing things right between Colette and Zoraida crews. Are we right that, when a figure is taking an action from a Prompt, or an Obey, it will not trigger 'Fear Given Form', because taking an action is not an activation? Can an enemy obeyed figure, always walk away from a figure with out trigging a disengaging strike? (As your friends are still friends, so your not engaged with them, and enemies will let you go ). Is it true, a Bewitched figure will let you draw two cards, when you make it walk, or attack, with an Obey?
  3. I can see now I have confused blocking and Impassable. if a target is behind some impassable terrain which is often also blocking, like a building, can is shoot, cast and charge through the impassable part of the terrain? I think if you charge at something behind some impassable terrain, you can't move through it, but if you can target (by ignoring LOS say ) you can move in a straight line to a point within melee range without going through the terrain, and so attack someone who is hiding round a corner. But I am not clear if you can shoot or cast through impassable terrain. eg Can you attack a target behind a blocking, and impassable, building with a SH or CA attack, if you don't require LOS?
  4. I know you cant charge through blocking terrain, so if you don't need line of sight to charge, you charge in a straight line, round the block, to a point within reach of the target. But what about range attacks? Can you attack a target behind a blocking building with a SH or CA attack, if you don't require LOS?
  5. Is line of sight required for auras, and bursts? In my 101 rules book, the description of Aura, makes no reference to line of sight, then gives an example aura with no reference to it either, but then says this example would need it. Looking on the web, I found if something says 'target' an item, like a marker, you would need line of sight to it, but if it just has to be in range then you don't. Is the example wrong, or is the default, you need line of sight unless something says you don't? It cam up in a game, when I trying to use 'Powered by flame' across a small hut, that blocked LOS to the damaged enemy.
  6. As the rules don't say who decides where the centre line is, north/south or east/west, I assumed the player deploying first could pick any of the 4 options. Either an edge, or corner, depending on the type of deployment being used. The other player getting the opposite one. The advantage of picking where to start from, is balanced by the opponent seeing how you have deployed before deploying opposite. Although I assume, some tables are designed to only be played north / south, allowing east / west can give more options to help with a limited layout of terrain. You should be able to reach anywhere on the table, so playing at right angles to where you sit, or stand should not be a problem. This way you can play the same layout, twice as many ways, with out having to move the terrain round. Remember a lot of other war-games are not played on a squire table, 6 by 4 for example, so some players have never had the option of playing off any edge, and think if you pick the side to start from, you are breaking some rule. All sides are equal in malifaux so all are valid.
  7. I am in England. I thought that was part of the problem
  8. Is there a list of what figures are available? Most websites list loads of figures, but when I look closer, most of it is not available. I keep looking for figures like Angelica, but it is never in stock, even wyrd-games only list starter plastic sets. I was hoping to get a few figures to round out my crews, but it looks like I will have to play with, just what I can get. So far I have Ramos, Colette, Joss, Brass Arachnid, Mechanical Dove(2), Howard Langston, Rail Golem, Coryphee(2 into 1 Duet), Performer(2), Mannequin(2), Steam Arachnid (9), Steam Arachnid Swarm, and an Electrical Creation. I have a small Mei Feng plastic crew coming, and have been looking out for Angelica. Next month I will see if I can get Johan or maybe some Oiran, as it looks like I will not be able to complete my showgirls crew. Is it just me or are some figures just hard to get? Wyrd seam to be changing from metal to plastic, which will save me money, but its seams the old metal is not made any more, and the new stuff is just running up. Do other people have to keep searching round and mostly have to play with what they can get, or am I just unlucky I picked the showgirls?
  9. I am still new to this, but I read it as, you can reactivate both with the following... Activate Coryphee 1 for 2 actions. Activate Coryphee 2 for 2 actions. Activate Colette, to do 3 Prompts on the Coryphee giving 3 more Coryphee actions, moving them up to 3” each time and on the last one, add Reactive and Sacrifice at the end of the turn, which can only be done once a turn. Activate Cassandra to to have an action and then use her second action to either Dancer's Saber in to, or just do , an Understudy of Colette's Prompt to do a Coryphee action and so give the other, one Reactive and Sacrifice at the end of the turn too. Activate one of the reactivated Coryphees for 2 actions. Activate the other reactivated Coryphee for an action and then for its last action, Dance Together and summon the Duet, sacrificing the 2 Coryphees. Actvate the Duet for 2 Actions as its slowed but has an extra AP. At the end of the turn, you don't have either Coryphee to sacrifice but do have a 3 action Duet for next turn. The main Problem, apart from range and Suits, would be the enemy killing one of the Coryphee before the joining. But that is both Coryphee reactivated for a total of 11 Coryphee actions plus 2 Duet actions, which if they can get Hypnotized, and Soul Dancer, working quick, it would give disadvantage to the target Df and you would be able to spend soulstones to boost the attacks, or help defend them.
  10. When I have the 'Seize the Day' upgrade, is the reflip from, an equal value initiative flip, also done with a bonus card? In a game, I lost the flip with 2 cards, so I used a soulstone, got an equal value and then tried a reflip with 2 cards again, much to my opponents dismay. The one SS cost of the upgrade seams just a little to good. John D.
  11. Have I missed some errata. On my Coryphee card, it has "(1) Dance Partner (Ca 5<tomb> / TN: 9<mask> / Rg 14 ): ...." So when I do the action, I flip a card and so, get a suit and a free Tome, I need to draw or cheat Fate for , a 4 or better mask, to do the action. So what's the Tomb for, or do ? Is it a misprint, or is there some upgrade that gives a trigger to use the Tomb? John D.
  12. Some more basic rules questions, so I can understand how to play correctly. If a height 2” figure is standing on the ground, next to a height 3” flat walkway, that has a scheme marker on it, on the edge nearest it. What is the distance from the figure to the marker? Is it : 0” as from above they are adjacent. 1” as the Head of the figure is 1” below the side of the marker. 3” the base of the figure is 3” below the marker. Also can the figure see the marker, as the walkway is in the way? If the figure was hight 3” could it then see any marker on the walkway? Will the marker be, out of sight to all onlookers, not taller then its position, if its any distance in from the edge, since it is, in a vantage point with a zero hight? This has come up in a few games, where I have placed markers on top of a 2” flat building. I have had Ramos trying to spot markers to summon with, and in another fight Colette trying to work out, where she see can stand and still be withing 1” of the marker. Both times we have looked at the rules about 'vantage points' and have become unclear how a height zero marker works, for this. John D.
  13. Hi, a friend and I, have got some crews together, read the rules, played some games and searched the web to answer things. But I still have some rules, I am uncertain about. Can a figure target it self, as a 'friendly figure' within range? (Disappearing act, for example). Do I need Line of sight to, a target marker to use it? (Summoning needs LOS to the new figure, but how do Vantage points work with markers as they have no height.) If you can ignore LOS, and Cover, can you shoot through all terrain even blocking ones like buildings? Can a figure stop on a wall its climbing? And then continue on is next activation, or must it start from the ground each time. Sorry if I am just missing where these details are explained, but I did not want to start playing the game wrong, and so get into bad habits. John D.
