  1. That red is a great choice. It almost looks like a flesh colored red. Nice
  2. dropping a comment to subscribe to your thread. Keep up the good work dude. Damn. Is there an easier way to view all your painted minis than looking through every page of this thread?
  3. I can't view the images at work, so dropping a comment to sub to the thread. Be back later
  4. I'm new here, who runs these challenges, are there prizes and when are these things announced? Monthly ongoing?
  5. That is a smooth looking model. Good job. You say you're new. To painting or to Malifaux?
  6. Looks great! I just finished up those same models, but I'm not quite ready to share yet. Gotta get the bases done. I can't wait to see what you post next.
  7. As a solution for a stiff neck, i have been painting in my recliner chair next to an open window. As long as you have the mini attached to a prescription med bottle or something similar, you can sit back and relax and anchor your wrist on the side of it. I use a tall, 10" plastic cup and hobby tack to secure the mini. I use a wet pallet and sit that on my lap. It's been a ton better on my back and neck for this reason. Having the wet pallet really saved me from having to constantly put out new paint. I'm new here so I'm trying to make my rounds in everyone's painting threads before I start up my own.
  8. Damn good job dude. I was just looking today for tutorials on how to do black robes and low and behold, you post this. Care to share your technique? I'm wanting to use it on the Guild Riflemen. I like the leather tones you used too. For my first shot at leather, I painted the Death Marshals using successive layers of Calthan Brown (old GW), then washed with a heavily water down Dark Flesh followed by a wash with Evil Sunz Scarlet (RED). The end result isn't quite leathery as I want it. What paints did you use for the leather?
  9. I love the art design in this game.
  10. I live in Marion, (just 60 minutes north of Indy). I have never been to Gen Con but I'm going this year. I especially want to get my hands on the Special Edition Malifaux Mini's. Have they been announced this year?
  11. Looks very clean. What do you use to glue them together?
  12. Looks damn good dude. It reminds me of that movie CHUD (Cannibalist Humanoid Underground Dwellers) lol
  13. I just found a really effective way to cut them from the sprue. Place the flat side down on a blanket, hold the piece pinned to the floor you are cutting out and cut with an exacto knife. This eliminates excessive bending and the rare times that a piece go flying (you have it under your thumb to prevent it)
  14. How did you do the magnetizing? I put down a beach towel so if I lose anything, it's easily found.
  15. Well, I just started putting Lady Justice Together. I had her sword attached and then thought, there is not way I'm painting her chest or face with that on there. So I took it off before the glue set. And then I accidently snapped the sword in half, lmao
  16. I agree. I left the marshall off to paint the coffin separate and that doesn't really count, like you said. Luckily, I had some leftover sprues from the zombies and found some gravestones and skulls to pile up to go on the base. It would be tricky to keep the connecting points unprimed since they are so small.
  17. My first shot at assembly was the Judge. Then the Death Marshal. Next the Scales of Justice. It was a bit tricky putting on the hands, but nothing a good set of tweezers can't solve. So I'm starting to put it together and thinking ahead about painting. Do you guys put everything together then paint it or paint somethings separately? I tend to assemble everything in Warhammer and if I can't reach it, that means you can't see it. But in this game, with all the models being out by themselves (and not hidden in ranks), I'm wondering if I should prepaint some things before assembly? Thoughts?
  18. Dont bother. The new art sucks and Kirkman abandoned the project as well.
  19. I agree. Greg Capullo was the man (who drew your avatar). He's currently drawing the New 52 Batman and that is worth a read if you're still into comics. As for Malifaux, whoever does the artwork is amazing too. I love the style and they have created a really unique universe.
  20. Thanks, nice avatar by the way. I have the whole Spawn collection up to issue 225. It started getting stale so I finally dropped it after reading it since issue #18
  21. Cool, sounds great. I'd buy them all. They are affordable and awesome looking. I have a shitload of Warhammer Fantasy but GW has really screwed their shit up with the prices and policies so I'd like to boycott them. Malifaux is the perfect stop for me.
  22. Hello, I am new to Malifaux, but not new to painting and collecting minis. I downloaded the new wave 2 cards in pdf format and then realized that many of the cards do not have actual models for them. Is there a plan to release these in the future so each card as its own miniature? That would be awesome as I think the 2.0 models are some of the best horror/steam punk themed models out there. I am building a huge model train city game board for Arkham Horror and Malifaux characters are the perfect scale (they are even the same size as the Investigator Minis made for Arkham Horror from Fantasy Flight Games) and they fit the 1920's era with their steampunk influence and also fit the Lovecraft Universe with their Horror aspects.
