  1. I've been having a lot of fun and success with the Levi Rider list (Hoodgepodge Effigy, Hooded Rider, Pale Rider, Dead Rider) + Midnight Stalker. Stalker is usually in the opponents half of the board top of turn 2, putting a lot of pressure on. If the opponent focuses on him, it lets the riders survive long enough to be dangerous, and if not then the Stalker will win games more often than not from the opponents back field, regardless of what the riders do.
  2. Damn... if only you had posted this before the Wyrd sale, I would have taken you up on that. Just bought myself a second translucent crew to complete the needed number of Void Wretches, after not being able to find one on the 2nd hand market.
  3. [-] for not taking the golden opportunity to name the thread "how do you solve a problem like Aionus?"
  4. @Nathan Caroland while you're firing up the metal... kilns? I don't suppose you could also make a Puppet Wars Lucius or two... for old times sake? :D
  5. Judge for yourself. They look pretty good to me despite the material.
  6. Maybe I'm just not used to cutting seams off with a knife anymore, but I'm finding that really difficult with the slightly rubbery plastic. I'm going to have another go tonight, so maybe I'll have more luck. I will say that it does look like, once I get it cleaned up, it'll go together nicely. And thanks for being so interactive on here - it's really appreciated. :)
  7. I hesitate to be a dissenting voice - because normally I really love Wyrd minis and the quality of your work - but my Alt Laz has some pretty bad seams in large and not easy to clean places. Down the middle of a line of rivets for example. And the slightly rubbery material is making it a real pain to clean up. To the point I took it out of the bag, separated it from the sprue, cleaned 2-3 pieces, then got frustrated and put it all back in the bag... Maybe I just got a bad cast or something, but if you have any tips on how to clean him up quickly and easily I'm all ears. As it is, I'm trying to very gently carve the mold lines out, because scraping or filing doesn't seem to work at all. But that's a long process and I often worry that I'm making more of a mess than I'm cleaning up with this material. :( Or maybe I'm just too spoilt by the quality of your hard plastics and how easy they are to clean up... also entirely possible.
  8. That is what worries me. As much as I want the cool alt Viks, I don't want to be sending Wyrd a message that I'm ok with metal models for even more releases. Having got used to Wyrd hard plastics, I dread going back to the pain of cleaning, assembling and transporting metal minis... Honestly, if the choice is between metal or paying a bit more (up to 50% more per mini) for hard plastic I'll choose hard plastic every time.
  9. For a minute there, I thought you were talking about TOS and got excited that things had left the factory... then I realised the customs delay was probably in reference to the Undying box and delayed Malifaux minis. Oh well, back to being (somewhat) patient. :)
  10. I don't think Cassandra/Collette puppets were ever released unfortunately.
  11. I'm also very sad about the regression to metal minis... but Alt Viks??? MUST HAVE! :)
  12. the interiors of the buildings are way more impressive than expected. They're normally skimmed over, so great job there guys!
  13. Just realised I never posted this here... TTB 2.0 Reference Sheets
  14. It isn't, and he isn't. Mine arrived today, and he comes in pieces, a lot of which are still on sprue. I seems most similar to standard Wyrd hard plastic, but perhaps a little softer (though it definitely doesn't have the "rubbery" texture of the preassembled minis) and based on previous comments I assume it is not. Will try plastic cement on some of the sprue, but I'm guessing it'll probably need superglue.
  15. I would say defenders duel total. The spell TN is just an additional number you need to beat (as well as defenders total) in order for the spell to go off at all.
  16. There have been recent Monday previews from Above the Law (guild book), just before Christmas I believe. While a release date hasn't been announced yet, it should be coming soon. After that, the only factions not covered will be Neverborn and Ten Thunders, so hopefully we'll see books for them sooner rather than later. There have also been recent adventures released - Jurassic Faux, plus A Stitch in Time and Fire in the Sky (both a compilation of previous Worldwide Events), and the the Obsidian Gate has been announced with the first Act releasing next week (Worldwide Event for this year, tied to The Other Side). Northern Sedition (the sequel to the Northern Aggression campaign) has also been announced. And on top of all that, there is usually a free adventure in each bi-monthly issue of the Wyrd Chronicles. The game is still very much alive and being supported - frankly, it's better supported than a lot of games released by bigger companies.
  17. Agreed. Malifaux has never seemed particularly steampunk to me - that always seemed more Warmachine's thing. I'd say Malifaux is more "Victorian Fantasy", which includes some steampunk elements, but a whole lot of other themes too (colonialism, mysticism, spirit mediums, Orientalism, etc).
  18. Are you sure about that? Because he still has to be killed or sacrificed before he can become "not killed or sacrificed" and buried instead. I think this is the same situation as the infinite Huggy thing that was floating around after the release of Broken Promises, and that was basically ruled as: you have to first be killed to be "not killed". Nevermind, I'm confused. The ruling was actually the other way around: So it seems this is correct - Leveticus is never killed / sacrificed... Hmmm... PS: As a new-ish Leveticus player, I also enjoyed the episode a lot. Thanks guys!
  19. A quick search found this thread, but it's a few years old now:
  20. It seems the like button on the forums has changed to PW Teddy... does it mean anything?
  21. Yes, you will get two of each Syndicate commander at Tyrant level. Not sure about the alternate version / UV cards, but I think the answer is yes.
  22. I can understand the confusion. Prior to reading this thread and checking the model stats, I thought the same.
  23. Target Construct or model with Armor +1.
  24. Wait, the Puppet Wars metal Lucius, or the Malifaux one? If the PW one, where did you get it from??? I've been trying to score one for a long time now...
