  1. You could just flip a crow. Barring that and cheating, Soulstone users can add suits.
  2. There's always eat the trap once and learn from your mistakes as well. I'll explain black blood, and maybe remind them once, but I won't make that consideration for them.
  3. I like this thread. The general take away from this (for me) has been that even though there are ways to try and influence your opponent's behavior for your benefit, most of the players commenting here find it at least unpleasant as a purposeful tactic. What this means is that the Malifaux community (or a sample of it at the very least) is more interested in making sure we have a good time than squeaking as many victories as possible out, even if it leaves a bad taste in your opponent's mouth. Like Eternalvoid says, it's a reality and it's good to remember just in case, but it's heartening to read how few people find that the preferred style of playing. So that's a positive note. As for Chronicles, more how-to craft and paint or conversion articles plz. I like seeing what creative minds can come up with out of hobby store leftovers.
  4. Just repurpose the extra bases for terrain and keep the spare cards for a proxy or player who has 1.5 cats and inexplicably no arsenal deck.
  5. Nah, I got three bases also. Someone at the warehouse had poor comprehension/instruction .
  6. Goodbye sorrows, hello insidious madness. Also, how much terrain you using? You gotta clog the board pretty good in Malifaux.
  7. No, I have an arcane deck. It's much older looking and the art doesn't show up anyplace else I've seen. Thanks though. Jack Daw is the Black Joker, if that jogs any memories.
  8. There is a fate deck I've seen pics of but never encountered or found for purchase. It has pictures of the primary Malifaux personalities drawn on them, usually Masters. The art is lovely and I would very much like to get my hands on one. Does anyone know where they are sold, or even the deck's proper name for more efficient searching? I fully expect it to be some sort of limited run thing, possibly hand done with Eric and Nathan's own blood, but I'm borderline obsessed with finding one.
  9. Back before the Rat King had any art assets our Hamelin player speculated to me about their appearance. It went something like this: Him: Wouldn't it would be great if the model was a bunch of rats walking around in some suit they found? Me: No, that's ridiculous. Nobody would take that seriously. Him: It's be awesome! They could wear like a Burger King hat some kid discarded as proof of their kingship! Me: They would never do that, that's a horrible idea. YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED.
  10. Friend of mine and I tested Hamelin like crazy. He played fine without rat kings, but there were schemes where they really came in handy.
  11. ArCANEist is correct according to the interwebs. I say ArCANist. Everybody at my FLGS says ARC'uhnist. It's horrible but they're convinced.
  12. I like it! A good primer for a great Master. I predict a raised eyebrow or two with regard to Ligeia's perceived difficulty to kill, but everything else sounded gold. Nice work! Who's next?
  13. If you're ignoring a duel, does it matter if you're immune to it or not?
  14. This. Extremely this. Our store is predominantly WM/H and any slight variation in phrasing or word choice is taken to be some kind of esoteric and ultra important cryptic design choice to be analyzed, agonized, and pored over at length to divine the higher secrets of game play. Drives me nuts most days. I like my games to be under 3 hours, so I'm a big fan of quickly agreeing on things beforehand because when they matter to the games outcome players' interpretations become significantly more intractable.
  15. Why do the vulture and slave get separate entries?
  16. The plastics...will be available soon. /blue lantern
  17. Card Kingdom crew, reprazent. Thursday nights are our nights, love to see you.
  18. Gotcha. Your opinion is what it is, but my reply would still be to resist the urge to assume that abilities with a lower chance to activate than a Rotten Belles lure are failures of design. The Jack crew is fast and makes a solid mix of denial and pushing. I feel like they operate very evenly when compared to other Outcast crews.
  19. 6, 7, and 8 aren't really high cards. Being able to get an ability to go off on a midcard is pretty normal.
  20. Smells like irresponsibile abuse of power in here.... Incidentally Godly...keep it up. I may not be smart enough to think up the answer, but I'm still not too dull tp learn from the solutions!
  21. Play with three before you try more. I love Pandora, but the Sorrows are a lead weight sometimes.
