I see your point about henchman, but as soon as anything marker based turns up, its really hard to make a multi henchman crew work. Just not enough bodies/ap. Because Fran is so versatile, he usually makes the cut above the rest personally in the henchman race, but after using him a bit with different masters, he only feels right with perdita

Love Perdita and mc mourning. Starting to find builds for Sonnia that I find fun to play. Can't wait to start on Lucius and then justice. Will wait for the new Hoffman box when it comes out. Only one which I still umm and aah about is McCabe, but I think its because I can't see a use for the wastrels.

You could also try to slingshot them first. Some combo of Lucius, Abuela and the witchling handler should give you the additional ap to move them up. What lackeys are for can effect anyone, so personally that's why I want to try an executioner with that. Also, not sure if you saw the doppelsammer thread about getting mark of incineration spread about while Sam himself is hiding. That should make most things a little bit easier and leave the rest as easy pickings. You can ride your one trick pony, but the rest of the stable will be gone when your back

The other thing to note that if the guild player has watchers then all of the stuff about hiding incorporal/armour in cover isn't going to work for one turn at least (watchers die as soon as they break from cover themselves), especially if Abuela is about to move them with 'listen up young in' before 'always watching' and 'view up high' kicks in. The only time I take out my beloved pistoleros when I see the board covered in stuff for this exact reason.

Burn them! Take Sonnia and if you can't get the tome spend the stone to get it.

Yeah, not a lot of point if it doesn't cover horror. Saying that +2 wp for rest of the family has actually saved my bacon quite a bit.

It will be a whole lot of dead models as well, so great to destroy a quarter in recon etc. Done this a bit with papa loco/Abuela with diestro when taking Ortega's

I've been thinking through Sam for a while, as he has personally never fitted in with Sonnia. Both deal loads of damage, so felt they replicate each others roles. Never thought of him as the solution to Lucius' damage dealer problem... Was thinking of taking Sidir for protection instead. And who doesn't like giving enemies flaming bullets and then getting minions shot I to them with Lucius? Saying that, I would be quite tempted taking a couple of stalkers instead. More lack of dopple ganger and performer, but stalkers are not exactly bad minions to start with. Defo food for thought. Thanks for the post!

Reading it, the 'may' is because they cannot discard a card for anything else in the rules unless it states it. Hence think you still need to throw the card, but then not spend ap due to the whole # thing. Probably needs a FAQ to be honest...

Considering its on oirian, its not exactly 'sick in mouth'/npe time is it? Perhaps this is why they have been denigrated for so long? Perhaps even with play testing yadda yadda this was always intended, that they can get def stance for a card and no ap.... And its only just clicked. *takes tongue out of cheek* Does any other model have the same wording? Most I recalled say when you spend one you get two and other similar sentiments.

If you can't see the point in the first place, then how can you place the markers? If you cannot place them, then how can they become ht 5? I would argue you need to see the ground.

Can you take 3 experts sluths and then discard them all on one turn for plus six? I can think quite a few games where a near certainty of going first would be grand.

With 35 you could go Ryle (leader) then judge, Sam, sidir and Francisco.. No extra soulstones or upgrades, or burning for sam, but would be quite funny

Considering how often acolytes appear whenever I play against arcanists, 3 can realy ruin someone's day....

I think people just don't have them, or are put of by an objective grabber which activates late in the turn. Personally shrug off on a 5 pt model is just ace. Press the advantage and look out is just gravy, alongside precise strike.
