  1. Don't orders start processing tomorrow? So unless someone opted for overnight shipping, I'd say Friday (2-3 day shipping was relatively affordable, I believe )
  2. *Tells self he doesn't need anything* Nope, I'm fine. *Makes order anyway* ...dammit.
  3. You could give a shot at the Bushido line of models. GCT studios. http://bushido-thegame.com/store Looking at it, they're on the low-to-nonexistent side for mounted models, so you may have to find your own horse...
  4. Ahh, got it. So I did miss something XD Thanks!
  5. Huh? Are you saying you wished they made special Coryphee or did I miss something?
  6. Shh! *cuddles Tara* Don't worry, babe, I still think you're beautiful. Plus I can store trinkets in your chest cavity.
  7. That's pretty much it. The "balance" is all left up to the players - I'm not really saying that's a good idea, but in a "trusted" environment you could have some stupid fun with it. The basic statline-related rules don't see that terrible - there's still the back and forth of movement, charging, shooting, and what have you. The problem is that, without adding to the rules, everything ends up being a central kill zone of melee (which I think has been said before). It's the barest of core rules with individual rules that provide some flavor. This isn't something that's going to "save" GW's Fantasy line (which has been an ever-dwindling percentage of their sales), but it's enough to let the designers have some fun with Fantasy models and enjoy some absurdity without any real constraints. If you want Rank and File fantasy, go play Kings of War or a previous edition of Fantasy. If you want something competitive, go with Warmachine/Hordes or Malifaux. If you want to hurl buckets of dice and goof around while drinking whisky, play Age of Sigmar. *shrugs* It's a super casual game for when you want to play a miniatures game without spending any substantial time on a miniatures game. It's an interesting move - and I'm still not sure if I like it - but it is what it is.
  8. ...why a Donkey? I may have to mod up an old Avatar...that's rather ridiculous. And the Shadow Emissary is just...well, no thought in that one. Both are a pity, as I rather like the Hodgepodge and Shadow Effigies. Mysterious and Brutal Emissaries are well done, as are the Lucky and Carrion (though the latter two are a bit below the former two). The Arcane Emissary is...uh...okay, sure. I'll be interested in seeing the fluff on why it's a bull - that aesthetic hasn't really seemed to be a "thing" for the Arcanists that I can see.
  9. I stopped in at the local GW store and got the sales pitch from the manager - honestly, I'm pretty impressed, despite it sounding ludicrous. There's a lot of encouragement of "fun" in the attitude of the game - effectively, the game can stop whenever someone stops enjoying it (which, I mean, was always an option), or someone can offer to "rebalance" things at any point (an example given was a Slaughterbrute hobo-murdering a giant squad of Orcs and effectively being all alone in that portion of the table - since it was no fun for the Orc player to face the prospect of dealing with that Slaughterbrute again, the monster proceeded to "wander off" the table rather than cause more Chaos - and so fun continued on both sides). It is not a competitive game. This isn't something you use for tournaments, this isn't something you play to win. This is something you play for cinematic value and stupid fun. It's something that can take as little as 30 minutes, so it actually works as a decent stop-gap game if you're waiting for your board game group to show up. It's sort of a showcase game - let's see what pretty models and fun themes we can weave together, then throw some dice around. I like the concept - trying to get some of my friends to go in for a demo at the GW store. I mean, I'm not sure I'm going to buy anything new for it (I've got enough Elves and Chaos to play), but it could be a fun distraction and a nice change from the 2-hour or more board games we've got now.
  10. The back of every shirt features a gremlin mooning the viewer.
  11. Eh, Malifaux isn't really "Fantasy" though - it's more of a Weird West/Victorian setting. Elves and dwarfs and knights in plate mail are going to look damn out of place Not really anything that's well-represented by the heavily-armored and occasionally winged Sigmarites, sadly.
  12. I think Mantic is going to get the biggest influx from this - but it'll be pretty much unnoticed since their rulesets are free and WHFB models all have decent analogues in the KoW rules already. Mass Fantasy battles will go on unimpeded. PDF downloads of KoW rules will increase. Hordes of greenskins will still smash against walls of dwarven shields. Elves will shoot bows, Undead will shamble forward, and demons will crawl out of the abyss to assault pious humans. AoS is...uh...well...the starter set is pretty. I sort of wish I had a reason to use the Sigmarite models, but I can't think of anything to do with them. The AoS "rules" are...uh...yeah. Anyone know any good Fantasy skirmish games with an actual ruleset? I think I'll stick with 8th edition and End Times add-ons for a while yet...that and keep building my Outcasts...
  13. I actually might skip it all this year o.o While I really like the Dark Carnival, I seriously can't see playing Colette. Everything else is coming out at retail eventually, with the only early releases I care about being the Crossroads 7 and the Effigies. If we had some sprue pics or even the actual assembled models from a few angles, that might change my mind...I guess I'll wait and see Hamelin could be good, but I'd like to get him and the Ratcatchers at the same time...and I'm not seeing that adventure pack on the list, though maybe I'm blind? Ah well - eagerly awaiting more images XD
  14. Well, I'm glad the 7 are a general release. Now I just have to decide if the crazy circus is worthwhile or not (for the most part, probably >_>). Blasted Wyrd, I don't even play Arcanists
  15. Even though the name would be better for a Lawyer, I really want to call her Miss Trial and have her be made in model form.
  16. Random thought: When the Collodi crew comes out, can we have a special edition of the sprue carved out of wood?
  17. Tara still doesn't have a general release version, but Brewmaster has no playable versions currently.
  18. Pink Dreamer calls to me, but the lack of pink Insidious Madness models and such just means that I'll ultimately be saddened by the lack of coherency. Lime Spirits of Vengeance look great, too, but I really want to paint Ikiriyo so I'll have to give that a pass. Thanks for the photos!
  19. If two Gremlin players face off and both choose Wong as their master, does the battle end up all right?
  20. Ooh, pink and shiny - but I'm not going to fall into the trap of translucent crews again!
  21. Is it bad that I have metal Carver but will probably get plastic Carver, too? Nice to see so much stuff on the list, like the Deso Engine and Rogue Necromancy.
  22. Do Wyrd even call it a "Black Friday Sale" or is it just "Black Friday Event" or "Black Friday Specials"? There's no price reduction - however, there are offers of free miniatures, limited release items, and pre-release items. Alternatively, there's likely to be a price reduction in the remaining back-stock of metal/resin models to get them the hell out of the Wyrd warehouse, so there's that, too.
  23. I also find it funny that she determined that Perdita was the leader because she had the biggest hat...apparently she completely failed to notice Francisco.
  24. Nathan sounded the bell. Ding Ding! Mancha Roja confirmed to be entering the Black Friday ring. XD
  25. Bengt, hun, do you really want to get me of all people started on the different Hannahs again
