  1. Does it? As far as I can see it is up to the active model the order it resolves effects on it. As far as I can see page 35 tells me to resolve all effects on 1 model first in the order of that models choosing. The unbury is an effect on ser vantes at this point, it is not an effect on the death marshal and so when ser vantes activates thise two effects happen at the same time, and ca n be resolved in either order.
  2. No it doesn't. look at vent steam on the steamborg executioner for an example of one. It avoids the ambiguity by not granting credit to anyone by kills from hazardous.
  3. Yes. If I hit a model with black blood, and the black blood damage kills something it's not the active model that gets the kill. My view on it is that there are times when you would end up with multiple people trying to claim credit for the kill in some situations if you allowed hazardous terrain kills to count. if ipush you in to a hazardous aura should the credit count for the push or the hazardous aura? By stating no one, it solves that. Also the ability to have uncredited kills can be interesting for the game.
  4. According to the faq, all start of activation effects are generated before you start to resolve any of them. So yes the corrupted innocence will happen. Abd yes, the bayou player will choose the order of effects that apply to the bayou model when it activates.
  5. Sorry, didn't want to just shut the conversation up. Does your local meta contain lots of crews which destroy terrain markers? Or lots of tables with lots of severe terrain naturally encouraging all players to have unimpeded models. Do most of the players play a certain way? ( extremes could be I ignore the game to focus on killing, or I ignore the opponent to focus on scoring) Do you play fae in most games, or do you have other keywords you can pick? If so what sort of games do you struggle in and what sort do you do well in? I'm not sure what you were hoping for with your suggested change. I don't think it makes enough difference to 95% of the models to make them more interesting in a autumn queen list, but the few that it might make more interesting it has potential to be oppressive. I must say I quite like df 7 automatically parrying knights anyway, so replacing them for a non fae is probably going to need to be pretty good. ( I may be wrong, but I assume the thought process went along the lines of " I wish X could be a queen's champion " to come up with adding fae to blood sacrifice)
  6. I think giving mature nephlim automatic execute on their claws at stat 7 whilst preventing cheating would probably fit the "broken interaction" definition.
  7. I think the assumption has always been if something is enemy to you, its friendly to your opponent. I can't point you to any formal rule or statement that says that. Discussions on the risk of dropping enemy scheme markers from as fat back as the beta testing of the edition have talked about your opponent scoring from the marker ( or using them to prevent them dropping markers with the interact action.)
  8. I would say that hazardous damage from the marker moving would only apply if the marker had the hazardous trait at the time it was in contact with the model.
  9. When I try to buy it in the Web store it gives shipping options, so I'm more sure it's a physical object you will be buying. (Especially because shipping to the uk is much more than the cost of the item )
  10. I don't know for certain but I think that's the physical book, the pdf is on drive thru rpg I think. It's a M2e book which might well explain why it is so cheap.
  11. No. All markers you drop are considered friendly to you unless otherwise stated. There are some actions that drop.markers you consider enemy, but they expressly say so. Pages 26 and 28 cover this. (Electronic rulebook)
  12. She can't create one that is already in play. If you have 4 in play you can take the action still, but the main part if the action will fizzle. I think that any triggers declared could still happen so its not a totally stupid thing to do. ( OK 2 of the triggers won't work if you don't create a marker, but the ideal upgrade flip can be done...)
  13. You only have 1 leader. (Page 44 of the electronic rules). IF you choose a Nexus One with Many model as the leader then many voices ability will come into play allowing you to hire 2 more One with Many models with cost 0. but these two aren't the leader. The same applies with Viks, the initial one you choose as a leader, and they have special rules that allow you to hire another one for 0 cost.
  14. Page 23 covers special restrictions, but yes, once per turn, can't be declared while engaged are both ignored.
  15. If the marker has terrain traits it is a terrain marker, so yes you can remove a tide marker with on the wrong side
  16. Basically yes. Most actions and abilities can be performed on both friendly and enemy models, so the infiltrate making you seem friendly provides no protection from those. So unless the action/ability has differences when applied to friendly or enemy models, infiltrate will do nothing.
  17. That sounds right, but its identical answer to the question using a sz 0 model instead of the sz 4 model.
  18. Sorry I might be missing the question. A models height doesn't effect how close it needs to be, just which terrain it can be in the shadow of. So yes, any model of sz 3 or greater would need to be in the shadow of terrain of equal or greater ht, and the shadow is never more than 3" from the terrain., so at least part of the model must be within 3" of that terrain to apply. (Of course a sz 0 model would also need to be within 3" of the same terrain, its just there could be other bits of terrain that it could be in the shadow of that were smaller)
  19. I'm not sure I have ever heard it said that denial and threat are supposed to hold equal significance. I don't think that they are currently equal, but I also disagree with your view that other forms of denial are much harder than killing, and that a killing strategy is low risk and easy. What I do agree is that a killing strategy is a counter to a lot of the scoring strategies, where as several other of the denial strategies only work with denying certain approaches to scoring. But it is a "wargame" and even if people aren't rewarded for killing, they are generally going to kill because it is what they expect. Scheemy is very hard to define, because there are so many different ways to score points, and things which are good at breakthrough are not always the same as those good at leave your mark even though both are about dropping 4 markers to remove them to score 2 points. Of course if you are playing reckoning, then Killing becomes Threat as well as denial Overall I think the current edition is the most killy version of malifaux we have seen so far. This is a mixture of threat ranges, consistency in damage and most importantly, the scoring system that is currently in use. In the current game 37.5% (3/8)of your points can only be scored on the last turn. Whilst it is possible that some of the actions required to score these points can be done earlier in the game, most of the time, those actions can still be undone. Its certainly the only edition I haven't yet won a game despite being wiped out. I play in the UK where tournament events are almost always large enough that the positions are decide on tie breakers, either VP scored or points difference, both of which are not normally good if you focus too much on the denial game. So you might regually win all 3 rounds by killing everything your opponent has, but often come 3rd because at least 2 other people also won all rounds and scored better because they were less focused on killing. (assuming 17+ entrants which is common)
  20. I don't know if its still the case, but it always used to be wyrd didn't put the new releases on its Web store for a few weeks, to allow stores first chance to sell. ( I don't buy normally from the webstore so I can't confirm if this is still the case, but it might give you a reason why you are still waiting. I also can't remember how long they delayed, so it doesn't really help you know when they might be out. Sorry).
  21. I'm pretty sure it's 1. The rules spell out that the terrain blocks sight lines to models in its shadow even if you are taller. (Page 18).
  22. No because by the time you can declare a shove aside trigger you aren't in a charge action. The charge action is fully resolved before the melee attack action it generates begins. (Page 35 electronic rules, actions generated by effects)
  23. Beckoned are part of the honeypot keyword which means you would want the jacob lynch starter. It's also a ten thunders keyword ( they left neverborn when the edition changed a few years ago).
  24. Hopefully in the next faq, but we don't know when that is . If it were me I'd play them with the least effect of use em asbait, because it's easier for me to learn new things for a buff than forget rhinfs from a nerf. Either could work, Just clarify with your opponent before the game so you both are playing with the same rules
  25. My condolences. I think the three boxes are sold by Wyrd for $25 each, but only at certain times in the year (2 -3 times a year). They sometimes go up on the secondary market, but since its generally availible within a few monhs it doesn't go up much. It looks like the painted figures are from the Nekema box and the Blood brood box, which retail at $95 combined. Sometimes painted figures go for more, but it depends on the level of painting.
