Von Schill uses his Clockwork Arm on the gremlin Pere Ravage, and damages the little green dude for his last wound.  Which happens first?

Does Von Schill launch Pere, hopefully into his unsuspecting Kin, and then he explodes, leaving nothing for his brethren to remember him by but a Corpse Marker.

Does Pere explode, washing harmlessly off the Freikorp Armor, and then Von Schill tosses the lifeless body across the landscape, and finally placing a Corpse Marker next to Pere's husk?

... or, something completely different.

Not quite

"After Succeeding" resolves after step 5 (small book page 23)  That means after damage would be applied.  The only difference in timing between this and "After Damaging" would be where the corpse marker would place.

After succeeding triggers aren't resolved at all if the model dies. Only after damaging triggers are actually resolved since they specifically mention it while other triggers resolve after step five and the model dies during step 5. Or well, if it was a card draw or something it could resolve but you can't move what isn't there.

71) If a model has an “After Damaging” Trigger which allows it to push/move and it kills a model with Explosive Demise, can it use its Trigger to push/move away from the model it killed before taking damage from Explosive Demise? No. Explosive Demise happens when the model is killed, which would be during Step 5 of the duel process (Determine Success, Core Rulebook pg. 33) and After Damaging Triggers occur after Step 5 (Core Rulebook pg. 32).

Defenders Trigger

Attackers Trigger

acting model ability

defending model ability

Other models First player has abilities

Other models second player has abilities.

But in this question nothing happens at the same time so its deal damage, kill, explode place corpse, remove model, then there is nothign to place.
