leeoaks
Just painting the seamus box...and sybs whip has broken at the hand. By the look of the break there is a weakness there. Anyone else had issues with whips chains etc. She is 80% done, what a what a waste of 2 hours.
Fetid Strumpet
I didn't have any problem putting mine together and mine is still solid. Not saying there may not be a structural issue, but I didn't experience it. There is a picture of mine in the last wyrd chronicals if you want to see how my whip was assembled on mine as I might have put it together differently. Tiny
Yeah i had a problem with sybelle she was done and i was just getting the whip to go under the foot etc and she basically just exploded in my hand, so bought another seamus box havent put her together the 2nd time yet. SpiralngCadavr
With points like that (regardless of line or material), if I expect the model will see regular play, I'll put a few drops of thin super glue over them to reinforce them a bit. I'd say it's an issue, but not specific to wyrd's new line.
mattausten86
.my mate had the same problem, spent ages on the model and the whip broke during a tournament,I think it put him off wyrd models
leeoaks
Would wyrd replace it?
SpiralngCadavr
If there was a casting flaw or a material flaw, I expect they would; if it's just a really fragile bit then I don't know and I'd personally feel wrong about asking for one... Trax
Especially *if* there's a casting flaw the replacement wouldn't do much good, now would it? And I can't see how the whip couldn't be fixed with some glue/cement/green stuff anyway, it is hardly the most delicate part the new plastics have to offer. My Sybelle is still doing fine, but hasn't seen much play or paint so far, so I just take this as a warning.
leeoaks
Should have stated...my model was fully glued. I was painting her when the whip broke. It didn't break at a contact point.
thebarbalag
The only issue like that I've had is a Torakage's bandanna already broken on the sprue, but my response was mostly, "Enh, one less fiddly bit in a box overflowing with fiddly bits." Sybelle actually seems pretty sturdy. McCabe, as well, in both forms seems surprisingly robust, both his dismounted whip and mounted reins are pretty tough. HegemonyKrcket
I've already lost an arm off my Cherub, broken a blade off a terror tot, and broken a leg off of a young nephilim. But I'm not sure if that's the plastics fault. I think I'm just offish and clumsy.
Tony LiPira
To be fair to Wyrd, whips for Cryx Satyxis Raiders can easily break off too. Maybe it's just an issue with whips in general.
Pierowmaniac
I remember that Eric Nightmare Hanged suffered from easy break syndrome, with no mention of anyones Nathan breaking (funny that knowing who responsible for the production ;p )
Mister Shine
I broke my Strongarm Suit tubes, hence my sig. Generally Im just more careful with thin tiny bits of plastic and metal now. Plastic snaps, metal bends and chips. Pack everything in soft foam and pray, regardless of company.
MasterDisaster
^^^^^^^^^^ This! I remember getting 5 tubes on the sprue where those tubes/cables where leading from the hands to the tank on his back. After breaking two whilst getting them off the sprue my Strongarm Suit has to make do with 3 rather than 4-5. Depressing at the time but I got over it. The arrows for my Thunder Archers also had similar issues but not having them on the models is barely noticable and doesn't take anything away from their Badassitude. DeleteAccount
Only thing I have broken is Misaki's ponytail and that was after painting, I have decided tactically to avoid sticking a few times though, annoying little bastards. I'm still amazed I managed to glue the chihuahua with no issue whatsoever, always scared that something will fall to the ground and be lost forever more. MasterDisaster
I've always expected Misaki's Ponytail and Bisento to snap at every given opportunity but so far shes golden! This makes me worry that given my streak of good luck with these things I'll end up having a calamity in my case one day and I'll open it to find a load of parts and no actual models. Noir
I've broken my fair share of whips and smaller pieces as well. But haven't encountered anything too bad.
