I took some pictures of the entries to the Gen Con painting contest. And surprisingly, I'm actually managing to post them. Most of them aren't the greatest pictures. I missed several models (including one of my own) because they had already been retrieved from the case by their painters or I couldn't get over to that section. Sue will eventually have much better pictures posted of the winners I imagine.

Oh I forgot to say - does anyone know who makes this fig? I'd so love to have an Indy of my own. I know Reaper does a sort of Indy figure, and Copplestone has some archaeologists, but I couldn't find this guy. (And if whoever painted it happens to see this, I like the paint job, too!)

Cool; thanks for the photos.

I did a quick search for Indiana Jones miniatures, but couldn't seem to really find anything. The only one that shows up looking like that one is here: LINK, but is doesn't say who made it.

Thanks for looking guys. I think that's the same fig Hinton, and it says painted in 2000, so that's a little info, I guess. I poked around Foundry a bit. I didn't see it there, but their stuff isn't the easiest to search.

cheers for the pics Wren.. I'm pretty certain the indy is by copplestone.. I think it was a limited run.. could be wrong but will have a check around....They did several Lara croft versions at the same time and they were available at shows here... I'm about 80% on that...

Yep, eventually we'll finish all the editting and paperwork and stuff and Gen Con will have the pics of all the winners. Also, Historical Miniatures ("HM") magazine will be publishing covereage of the competition and our events, so check that out as well!

So please be patient...we all have jobs and families and waaaaayyy too much to do. We;re talking a few weeks, not days here.

My informants from Dwarvenforge came through for me on the Indy question!

The mini is part of a boxed set RPG game that came out:

Word is there were 2 RPGs that came out in the 80's and 90's, one by TSR and the other by WEG. This figure seems to be in the game from West End Games.

There are a few companies that make similar figures, but for copyright reasosn theyt call them different things. Artizan does one, I think it's called Kentucky Sam or something like that. H ehas no whip, but th ehand not holding a gun is positioned so that it would be pretty easy to add one. I think Andrea or Pegaso makes a 54mm one as well.

That would make sense ........ nice one.....I'll keep checking for the copplestone one because my memory tells me it was more or less the same....

I hope I didn't come off as impatient, I know it takes a while to do all the wrap-up and stuff, and I don't have a problem with it. I just like to post my pics, however awful, because I try to include as many entries as I can and I know there's barely time to photograph the winners for the official pics.

I'm excited to hear there will be coverage in a magazine! I hope you'll let us know when it comes out and how to get a copy if we're so inclined. Very cool!

Thanks for the info on the Indy figure, and the alternate suggestions everyone. Much appreciated! Interesting that there was an official set. I'll have to see if I can pick up some of these, as there's definitely nothing wrong in my book with having more than one Indiana Jones. ;->

@Jubilee - Yep it's the same camera. Less fiddling with the pictures, even, just a quick fix with the levels. I've really got to figure out where I'm going wrong with that thing...

I believe this is a Reaper Model - from the Chronoscope line -

I'm sorry it's not a better pic. I liked your mini a lot and I think that was from one of the more over-exposed pictures so it didn't capture all the nuances.
