Hateful Darkblack
This one's coming up in AWP Facebook Group and I thought I'd bring it up here. Sonnia Criid uses Confiscated Lore to raise her Ca by +2. Malifaux Child uses Just Like You to copy Sonnia's Ca action. Does Malifaux Child also benefit from that +2? 0 zFiend
No it was answer made in haste. But does the Malifaux Child have the Quick Study condition? It doesn't and it's the quick study that gives +2 to her cast.

0 wizuriel
They really need to errata the child to say to use the printed CA value or the master's CA value at -3. The way confiscated lore is worded it is an increase to Sonnia's Stat not to her CA actions.
0 the sadlyness
Stat Modifiers These are the simplest way to modify a duel or flip. Stat modifiers are presented as a bonus or penalty to a stat under certain conditions. For instance, a model might gain +2 to its Sh on any Attack against a target within 6”. In these cases, the Sh of the model is increased accordingly, but only for the purposes of resolving the duel. Alternatively, the model might receive a bonus to the total, rather than the stat. In these cases, simply add the bonus to the total whenever it is calculated. Page 29. The +2 from confiscated lore is never applied till Sonnia takes a Ca action. Sonnia has the condition. The Chile does not. The child taking a 1 action. Which is copying one of Sonnia's (1) actions. Sonnia is not doing any duels so no +2 to her Ca. Is the intent that all stat modifiers are only applied during duels? That one example is based off the model only getting the +2SH for attack actions which is very different from Sonnia's condition that has no apply under certain conditions. It just says she gains +2 to the stat she chooses.
0 Dirial
This question was discussed at length in the thread linked above. Do we really need to warm up all the arguments of both sides again? We're just talking in circles here.
0 zFiend
What happened to the Godlyness? Did he and Myyrä have a baby and now we have the Sadlyness? Name's fitting though.

0 Icemyn
Really? Wow. Yes. I get that he could be argumentative at times, but there is nothing in that thread that's remotely banworthy. Sorry for derailing the thread, I was just answering a question, please don't mod me into oblivion as well.
0 Dirial
Don't want to take sides in that regard. I just never thought it would happen to someone I (sort of) know. At first I thought Sadlyness to be some kind of joke.

0 katadder
so whats the final verdict on this as trawling through linked posts etc then it seems that there are arguments in favour of both. mainly want to know as we were doing 3 player stop the ritual last night and my wendigo wanted to use rasputinas enhanced cast
0 Dirial
The final verdict is: It's fishy and needs an official ruling. I'm on the "Doesn't work" side, but at the moment my advice would be to make your opponent aware of the problem and roll a die. By the way, how do you enhance Raspy's cast? 0 Dirial
essence of power But... but... In a discussion about the Malifaux Child, you want to copy the stat buffed by the Essence of Power with your Wendigo? (Is Totem Hardcore a thing now?) 0 Dafty
its the only Arcanist thing i know of that buffs CA lol. So if there was a team event going on and they brought a Essence and you brought the Wendigo......
0 Adran
I would also say it doesn't work. Mainly because every version that says it does work ends up in an infinite loop Since Sonnia has a condiiton which says she has +2Ca. If this at any point means the Flameburst has a Ca of 9 for the child to copy, then surely she should cast it on Ca 11, as she has a condition saying she has +2 Ca. Etc. Where as if Flameburst has a Ca of 7, and she has +2 Ca, when she resolves her flameburst it ends up as 9 higher than the card she flips. 0 Dirial
Well, that explains it.
0 Dafty
To beat a dead horse alive. When you declare an action you see if any abilities or conditions or effects modify that model/action. Ie a disengaging strike or one of Jack daws curses etc. Page 37. So if the wendigo is next to the ritual marker his cast would get +2 when casting a Ca action for instance December's curse. But if raspy was next to the marker and wendigo casts her spell he is not in the +2 cast range nor is raspy taking an action for a stat modifier to apply (posted earlier) This same concept is applied to a Malifaux child.
