  1. I am checking Lost Minis Wiki during work to find references (looking for the skeleton first because that is the most distinct) and it's missing from the '92 collection, picturewise. Citadel is really suspicious to me because of the shape of the skulls and I have found almost the exact same sword mould on another model (horns for hilt, but skull embellishment and pummel are the same, also the shape of the blade indicates similarities in the cast mould). I'll edit in the pic once I find it again. Maybe it's a promotional piece or it belongs to a board game? I remember we had some metal figures for boardgames back in the '90s.
  2. But adulting helps getting money to get more miniatures and paints and stuff! It still sucks, but now you have stuff to paint the suck away. @Caedrus I hope life will treat you better in the next month, it's still really impressive that you have managed to get the max level pledge out of May despite all things. You're a champ! Finding flown away bits and pieces is easier if you have a cat/small children around. Look away for 10 seconds and it will be in their mouth, 100% guarantee.
  3. I did a quick search and I'm certain the skelly guy is from Citadel's 90's miniatures series, because there is a '92 wraith that has the exact same skull medallion. The rest are also really ye olde Citadel-like shapes. I'm trying to find the exact figure you are picturing, but here is a reference to what I have found (an entry on Ebay):
  4. Demi taking it back a notch but ready for duty! I'm planning to paint some Qi and Gong ladies this month to freshen up the realistic tones with some color. My buddy got a WH40k space marine intercessor as a thrown-in gift at a shop and he asked me to paint it for him (first commission?! :D), so that is what I'm gonna focus on in my spare time. @Caedrus I am so jelly right now, our tournament lady also owns the Crazy Cat Lady crew and I love the miniatures, can't wait to see your approach on them! @Gheist Regarding the masterclass: I am not a master of painting and am still learning the good flow, but I'm currently learning the "paint on frame, glue later" approach with smaller pieces. I have ran into some trouble when minis were already glued together and then had to reach into small places, which is a challenge with my current knowledge and with a lack of an airbrush... But all in all, I currently follow a layering method I use with acrylics on canvas as well. The first step of painting I do is actually study the figure still on the frame and come up with colors for those I don't paint following the box art. I have a relatively small amount of paints so I come up with possible color mixes to achieve what I have in mind and then set up my workstation with the chosen colors, water, brushes and my cutting/painting mat, all under a lamp that is possibly visible from ISS. As of now, I tend to cut, clean the bits and pieces of extra plastic and glue the mini together, then prime it with Vallejo air-can primer (either black, white, or a little both to add zenithal highlights). After that I usually lay down the base colors (midtones for each specific part) to block out how the final mini will look like and change colors if I don't like the original idea. I then go usually color block by color block to ensure I utilize all the paint I spurt out and making sure the mixed colors look the same everywhere. I have just learned wet blending and try it as much as possible as I'm a sucker for nice color blends. I finish up by highlighting and extreme small details, like faces, eyes and makeup. If there is some OSL, the light color comes last as a last color layer. A spritz of acrylic matt varnish and it's good to go in the box until I make the base.
  5. Same here, experiencing it since the latest update. However, it does work and snaps back to your name correctly after you have chosen things under your opponent's name, but it is still a bug. Inconvenient rather than game breaking for us.
  6. Here are the rest of my figures finished for this month - except the super sekrit F&S piece I'll reveal later. Lucas's current crew is finished with Desper LaRaux, painted as a hommage to my favourite thief, Garrett of the Thief game series: My Partner's finished Rotten Harvest/core Pandora crew: Poltergeist: Sorrows: (I am particularly proud that I trashcrafted his support out of a Chinese takeout fork tooth.) Candy: Baby Kade: I'll record my totals in the sheet (131 in total, whoop!) and that's all for this month! It has been a challenge, learned a lot during it, learned a lot from YOU all that I'm trying to incorporate. I'll keep the next month's challenges to my original pledge to not burn out from the painting (we needed both crews for a tournament this month, hence the marathon). @TimH Lady Yume looks gorgeously disgusting, pardon me. The detail and paintwork on her centipede body gives me uncomfortable crawly shivers. Great job on the model and the bloodwork on the base! @Trimasel They are simple but very detailed, great job! I should pay more attention to hairs and fur in the future, I think I'll shamelessly study your models as reference. @feagaur I love how the blues are popping, especially on the chaired model with the lightning!

Levitation device made of the tooth of a transparent plastic fork I got from a random Chinese takeout. Trashcrafting at its best! :D

I am particularly proud of the little hairs, he's got my finest brushwork so far.

Since she's part of the Rotten Harvest team, I have decided to give her some sort of costume. She is supposed to be trick or treating as Red Riding Hood.

Hommage to one of my favourite characters of all time, Garrett of the Thief series. :) With him, the Lucas crew is currently complete!
  11. Good job on regaining the mulligan! I agree that the white background makes the craftmanship more visible, but the black background makes the colors extremely vibrant and popping. I love the whole scheme and the custom base turned out awesome! Kinda gives me a nudge to get my hands on a 3d printer eventually...

I officially hate painting horses. This figure alone took two freaking weeks! I have learned a lot about wet blending and subtle shading though. Since put on a simple base but don't want to flood the gallery.

He'll sell you your own mother. Based since the photo was taken, but won't flood the gallery for a simple base.

Old, slow, deadly. I value him more in my crew than the actual master. Really enjoyed painting him. Since put on a simple homemade base.

I love her Soulstone Flare ability and tried to express it through a little OSL. She is also the first figure I have sorta nailed the face painting of. Base made by Micro Art Studios (Jungle theme)
