  1. Is Archie not a Henchman anymore? He's my go-to for 2E HH games.
  2. In terms of the spirit of the rules, I agree with you 100%. I would love to see Wyrd amend this with a rewrite or errata/FAQ. Right now, there's way too much wiggle room for RAW lawyers to abuse these loopholes.
  3. Asura Roten & Mindless Zombies were a great match in 2E, and they still are in 3E as well.
  4. I'm inclined to agree. The way it's written, you can declare an action, but then if you don't have a target, the action goes off with a failure. The result is that Archie can discard to heal seemingly at-will, so long as he attacks first, which is something that I feel like shouldn't be happening, but...🤷‍♂️
  5. Nice, that's good thinking. I just started using Molly recently, so that's good to know.
  6. Late to the party, but I've been playing around with Archie, 2 Punk Zombies and a Shieldbearer, and it's not bad. You could also do: Yin, Punk Zombie, Belle Yin, Punk Zombie, Graveyard Spirit, 1pt upgrade
  7. Hey all, Got a quick question for you fine folks over here on Team Neverborn. My wife recently picked up Hinamatsu, but neither she nor I play Neverborn—she just loves the model. I'm thinking that rather than just having it sit on the shelf, we could at least grab a couple extra Neverborn models and make a little Henchman Hardcore team for everyone's favorite four-armed samurai geisha murder puppet. Without having to buy a Neverborn master box, which 3 models could we get to build a competent and fun Henchman Hardcore team for Hinamatsu? Thanks!
  8. Yin's also nice for preventing overeager enemies from getting to Reva. You can use her as a buffer, forcing them to get past her stickiness before they can have a shot at the champ.
  9. I'm planning on coming to this, but am not sure where to sign up. Do you have a link?
  10. No idea, we always draw schemes right before playing. I'm just looking for some general feedback on who works particularly well with her. I'm thinking maybe Yin, and of course Archie?
  11. I'm going to have my first Molly game soon, and I'd love some tips on putting together a serviceable crew for her with the models I currently have. Here are your choices: Molly's box Reva's box Asura Roten Archie Yin Bete Noire Carrion Emissary Punk Zombies Guild Autopsies Mindless Zombies Thanks in advance for your ideas!
  12. Plus Armor 1, and a free bonus when they die. Decent defenses, decent Wk. I don't often have them near people who are using Soulstones, but if you do, they also get fast when that happens. Not a bad model at all.
  13. Shieldbearers are nice for any Scheme or Strategy that involves maintaining a presence in a certain position. They're also good at tying up 1-2 enemy models for something like Cursed Object. They're surprisingly tanky for a minion, and if I take two at the beginning of a game, I can usually count on having at least one left by the end.
  14. I wouldn't hold back. Speaking personally, I bought a new master a week or so before the M3 leaks dropped, and since then, I've only become more compelled to get in as many 2E games with her as I can. Gotta enjoy her in her present state before we evolve into the new edition!
  15. Yes, but if you have more AP left and you think the target might survive the hit, make sure there's another attack vector near the target so you can attack it again. It does. She can also heal with a Ram trigger on Ethereal Reaping. Yes. You can use any Ca Attack action with it. As Ludwig said, big tough guys are great for Ours. I like Shieldbearers for it as well, since they're relatively expensive minions at 6SS, and they're also quite tanky. If I take 2 into a game, at least 1 of them will usually be left standing by the end of the 5th Turn. Belles could also be nice, as they can yank enemy models out of position to prevent them from scoring VP. Tanky models who work well for Ours should also be good for Guarded Treasure. For Dig Their Graves, you can look at the Carrion Emissary. He's great in any case for Reva, as his Shards can help funnel enemies towards your Corpse Marker Death Zones. Since Reva can attack around corners, he can prevent ranged enemies from shooting her, while leaving her still able to smack them. For DTG, he's also got a 1AP action that converts a Corpse Marker into a Scheme Marker. Reva can do this herself as well. It's a nifty trick for setting up a DTG kill. I will pretty much always choose DTG for Reva if it comes up in the pool. Recover Evidence might be tough, since you'll want to be hyper-conscious of your unit positioning for Ours. It could be tricky to run around and collect the evidence while also making sure you're in scoring position for the Strategy. Take Prisoner could also be troublesome, since you'd want to reduce your opponent's SS presence in any quarter in which you have models. I might take Guarded Treasure and DTG for this one, using the strategies outlined above.
  16. I'll chime in, as someone who recently got Molly. I'm taking her down her Horror path, and here's my wish list: Punk Zombies (just bought 'em) Archie Rogue Necromancy Kentauroi I'm not grabbing the Belles on their own in case I decide on trying Seamus at some point, and having just bought Molly, I'd prefer not to grab another master right away
  17. I think you'll be OK. WWHSD's suggestions are quite solid. I'd say that you can make some measured purchases and be pretty good to go. Pick a master you like, buy a handful of supplementary models for them, and just stick with what you've got until you know them like the back of your hand.
  18. Nico's Punk Zombies are a great unit that nearly any Resser master can enjoy. You bought the box largely for the PZ's, as you said, so no harm done. If you did want to look at other characters, I'd suggest Molly as a potential 2nd master. She can also summon undead minions (though not as many as Nico), and if you take her down her Horror path, she loves Punk Zombies. Lots of good matches there between the models you'll buy for these masters. Kentauroi, for example, go well with both. Mortimer is also a useful henchman who can complement other masters outside of Nico. Molly, again, goes well with him.
  19. Thanks! I've been making my way through Breachside Broadcast while I paint, but I'm about halfway through the episodes. Just finished the two-parter about the Blind Man's Iron.
  20. I'm painting Molly, but I'm not 100% caught up with the lore. Is she still coughing up blood all the time, or has she managed to get a handle on that? Need to know whether or not she's getting some Blood for the Blood God all over her mouth and dress Thanks!
  21. Madame Sybelle and Sebastian are pleased by the new trend towards more representation for T H I C C bodies.
  22. You don't think it's fun to imagine the models in the heat of battle, with steel, bullets and spells flying everywhere? That makes for a much more dynamic experience, the way I see it, rather than looking at two teams walking around while mean-mugging each other. Besides, dynamic poses are a great way to infuse a model with a sense of character. To bring it back to Ototo, for example—sure, he might tip over from time to time, but there's no denying how brutal that tetsubo of his looks if he's leaping into the air when he swings it. It's nice that they released an alt where he's doing the exact type of staredown challenge that you enjoy. Now, there's an option for people of either preference.
