  1. Some games do include two rule books in the starting box, the core rule and the quick start guide. The quick start guide is the rule book that removes half of complicated and detail rules to provide a simple and fast reference for new player to learn the basic flow of the game. Malifaux did have quick start guide inside the M2E starter set. Not sure if Wyrd would release any starter set, but I think it is a good idea to renewal the quick start guide and put it online, official or not.
  2. seems like Wyrd tends to group multiple units into a single box in this edition instead of separated box for every unit. So my guess is Piglets and Squealers in one box and Whisperers and Hauler in another box, plus one big box contains 3 War Pigs like Kentauroi and Jorogumo. the combination can be different, though, I am quite confident that there will be 3 boxes.
  3. Good to hear the news. The most depressing part is not waiting, but waiting without know the end. Not sure others, but to me, with a exactly date, I can wait for a month delay. So if this happen next time (hopefully not), maybe immediately make the announcement as soon as you realized there will be a delay. Anyway, thanks to Wyrd.
  4. I have a feeling that Wyrd will release a box with Piglets and Squealers. So maybe wait longer to see how thing turns out.
  5. All 5 Arsenal Upgrades give Ophelia the same ability: According to the Abilities Section inside the core rule, Plink! has no value so it will not stack. Hence Ophelia cannot discard multiple Upgrades at once to reduce more than 1 damage. And when Ophelia is attaching the second Arsenal Upgrade, again from the rule book, the Plink! from the second Upgrade is ignored. Plus the Plink! is directly pointing to "this" Upgrade. Which means, to my understanding, Ophelia must keep track on the order of all Arsenal Upgrades she had attached, and when she declares to use Plink!, she must discard the first attached Upgrade. Are these 2 statements correct?
  6. That's fair. I have not thought this way before. So is it safe to say that the Cursed is just another Wild Boar that does not take the space of Boar?
  7. They still not appeal to me when comparing with say Wild Boar which has the same cost. The Cursed may be more tanky, but being a Pig, the Wild Boar receives more support from the crew. I will give them a shot next time I play Ulix anyway.
  8. I did not realized there is any note. If it is the case then I am perfectly fine.
  9. Actually there is a line in the new back story about this: ...but since Justice started the Beta with Ml 7, so this probably an add-on setting to explain the reduction on Ml.
  10. I believe every one here are just loving the game and being impatient because they cannot wait longer for the brand new toys. I, for one, sure want Wyrd ships out all orders ASAP, but it would be nice if they could spare a minute or two to drop a comment about the current status e.g. are they waiting the boxes to arrive the warehouse, or are they now packing the parcels. It is not necessary to be an official announcement, but a short note on this thread or AWP can work. Also we should notice that, when comparing to previous Gen Con/Festival sale, this time the sale is a part of the new edition launch. The order counts is probably much larger than previous events as most players have something to buy. So it is not surprise that it takes more time to handle all these orders.
  11. What do you think about Swine Cursed with Ulix? Most support trick in the crew is pointing to Pigs rather than Sooey, so actually the Cursed has little to none synergy with the crew.
  12. One of the best feature of M3E to me is that, because of the keyword hiring, you can always jump into a master of other Faction without buying a bunch of unrelated boxes. You do not need to buy a Perdita box for Francisco to play Lady Justice, nor buy a Ramos box for Howard to play Colette. Of cause you may miss some useful versatile or general good models, but in casual games a pure keyword crew should give you enough competitiveness. So i would suggest pick the master and/or crew that you like the most, i.e. Parker and Nellie.
  13. Cannot take interaction does not mean cannot do S&S. Zipp can do Take Prisoner, or place terrain for Search the Ruins. And more important, Zipp is for denying opponent from scoring. He can block the way to idols or bombs, displace enemy models from where they should be or waste opponent's resources for doing anything. I do agree that you should have a good reason to hire Zipp as a second master, but once you have hired him, he should be able to contribute as good as other master. True. Pushing and Focus in a single action is so efficiently. Plus Mah does have some fantastic melee and range attack. But her leader ability is too good to pass over (and she has some good models within the keyword too) so I always struggle should I just hire her as my primary master.
  14. I have placed 2 order at 31/07 right after the web store opened. The first order includes new boxes (Euripides, Somer, Schtook) and the second has only old model with new boxes. The second had been shipped out at the head of this week while the first is still waiting. So i do believe the Euripides box does matter.
  15. Skeeters have higher mobility and Df when comparing with the Bayou Gremlins, which make them a better target for Somer's 'Make Me Proud' and Crier's obey.
  16. should I submit twice if I have both Android and iOS devices?
  17. Dual (or Multiple) masters is based on 2 point: Crew Dependency and Resources Consumption. If both masters have high dependency on their own crew, then you will struggle in crew building. Ulix has very high dependency for example, so you would always want to focus on his keywords. Zipp and Zoraida, on the other hand, can do their job without support from the crew. Other masters can do solo but better with their crew supporting. (Mah is a special case here. She is an independent master but her leader ability is so great that she always want to be the leader likes a high dependency master) And you would not want 2 resource-hungry masters to burn all of your hands in the first 2 activation. Combat master like Ophelia and Mah may burn hands real fast. Ulix and his friends also need high cards to grow pigs and moderate cards to summons. Zipp is annoying people by just existing there, and Zoraida can refill hands. So, both Zipp and Zoraida are low crew dependency and low resources consumption. Which means that they are the best second master in our faction, and can make a good pair with basically every other masters.
  18. I have no doubt that Big Hat has lots of toolbox models that can handle different scenarios, Obey and Lure had proved their value across the entire M2E period. While I am not sure if is Big Hat the most versatile keyword in the Faction. Being a bubble crew is really limiting the options of the crew. (my vote goes to Sooey&Pigs btw)
  19. What you have heard is the Dead Man's Hand. Currently contains 4 Masters and 1 Henchman (and other models) that are no longer participating in the story process. Ophelia, however, is not one of the member. You may have more detail info from this page. I guess Ophelia and her Kin were just being bad luck in the random draw on determining the release order. Given that they are not getting re-sculpting nor changing in box content, you can just purchase the M2E box.
  20. Had 2 games with Big Hat last weekend. I am giving my afterthought to every models and the whole crew here instead of battle reports (because I have not marked note during those games). This is the first time I played the crew, so some of the following could be seriously incorrect. Please feel free to correct me. Overall Damages beside Lenny and Georgy and lackluster. This is not a crew that can kill half of opponent's crew. The key of Big Hat is to play attrition and resources trading game. Extremely hand-hungry. Lots of abilities require hand. Bayou Two Cards can help but unreliable. The drawing and Demise are the main way of refilling hand. If opponent learnt to ignore the Bayou Gremlins, you may even need to kill them by yourself. Not yet played against any and Shockwave crew. But as a bubble crew, Big Hat may struggle facing the models with AoE damage. Som'er is the weakness of the crew. He needs to maintain a close distance and LoS from the fronline of the crew to unleash full potential of all his , which leave him in a dangerous spot. His only defensive ability is the Squeal trigger, which is useless in front of some models. I am quite surprised that he did not have Protected(Big Hat) which fit his characteristic and the hand-costy theme. Som'er Support summoner that wants to stay at the middle field because of all his . In most turn he is first or second activation to put up the . Bigger Hat Than You: An interesting way to make up the Pass Tokens that given out when summoning. Opponent needs to choose between hand advantage and Pass Tokens advantage. Attacks: Stat 7 is beautiful while damage is just okayish. Maybe when he has spare action that nowhere to use. Summon: I found that the most frequently summoned models are, surprisingly, Bayou Gremlin. Followed by Good Ol' Boy which I thought I would summoning most. More details in below. Make Me Proud: Irresistible damage is always good, plus the action ignores range and triggers Demise. The best target I think is the Skeeter. Lenny Our main melee beater. His melee attack is in top class, though when comparing with other beater in the Faction, Lenny has no extra attack. Grit is great but I do not feel secure enough to keep him under half of health, especially he has no other defensive ability beside Hard to Wound. Given that how much his Gremlin General means to the crew, I just cannot commit him just like a normal beater. Georgy & Olaf The range beater. Having a good gun and would not be stopped by engaged. While within the Lenny's he becomes Df/Wp 7, which are great defense stat in this edition. "Who Runs Gremlin-Town": Still figuring out how to use this action. Using Lenny to block LoS to Som'er seems to be the most particular way, but it requires careful positioning and activation order. Old Cranky Reactive Thinking: to initial is great Shouting Order: Lots of Big Hat models, except Som'er who does not need focus anyway, do not have any crucial Action so it is good to have some extra options. Stat 7 Obey. Good Ol' Boy Bring It: Provides tankiness when facing melee model. Df 6 (again, within Lenny's ) is not something can be easily go through. Melee: Moderate stat and damage. My only complain is that, without support from OOK models (or enemies) the Drunken Strength is just a worse Critical Strike. Range: Good stat but low damage. Considering adding Inferiority Complex upgrade for bully to boost the damage. Spit Hog Our healer. As mentioned above, most of models do not have any essential Action so it provides extra choices. And it is a better version of Juggernaut. Can be used as roadblock in some bottleneck spot. Beware that friendly models can move through but not see through them, hence the and are blocked. Plus stat 7 Lure. Crier The main values of this model are Bully with Threaten Beatings, together they turn Bayou Gremlin (and Skeeter too) into a significant and Don't Mind Me scheme runner. Also they let other models to charge or shoot when engaged. And stat 7 Obey again. Banjonista Foggy Bayou Hoedown: Free Movement is the main reason to hire/summon this model. Especially to a bubble crew like Big Hat, moving all models at once can keep everyone within . Most of their values come the abilities which auto trigger, so their Activation is free to do anything they want. Can remove Slow from the summoned models. Bayou Gremlin The core model of Big Hat to me. Use to block LoS and charge line, activation control, trigger Bayou Bash and die to drawing. Using a hand of 12 to summon 4 of them, kill them all and draw 4 cards back. It is unlikely to draw another 12 back though, but the extra hands in this crew means extra focus or shielded. Skeeter Basically same as Bayou Gremlin. Trading the gun for extra mobility. Some other OOK models that maybe helpful: Big Brain Brin Arcane Reservoir and deck compression are always good to have. Minion-only Obey for a minion-oriented crew. Plus you can choose to kill the target for Demise ability. Pigapult Not yet tried. But firing Bayou Gremlin into the middle of opponent's crew for "Making Som'er Proud" sounds like a plan to me. First Mate/Rooster Rider/etc... Since Big Hat is a bubble crew, some independent model that can go flank would be nice. Again, this is just my two cents on the keyword. Please also let me know how you think about them.
  21. I thought the next allegiance would be Guild according to previous info. It makes sense that, however, Guild is so busy handling with Malifaux and have no time to deal with Earth.
  22. In my local we don't have GS (that buying from the distributor). Is there any possible that we can place special order via henchman?
  23. If playing Nicodem would get myself a cancer then yes I would ban them in my tournament. Putting the name of a necromancer inside my epitaph seems strange to me. Besides of the safety issue, I think it is really depends on the nature of the tournament. For my local meta, tournament is a more casual form to gather players to play (because they may just playing other game, miniature or not, in normal days), so I don't think DMH would break anythings. For more serious tournament I can see banning DMH for a more fair and competitive environment.
  24. Not sure if any one cares about, but just finished the first draft and want to share here.
  25. War Pig with Complex. At 9ss War Pig can bully a large number of model, including some low cost henchmen. With Shove Aside and Reckless it can almost attack 4 times in an activation. Be ware that all non-summon upgrade would be discarded when replacing, so you have to hire a War Pig to attach the Complex upgrade. My another favorite pair, stealing from the Facebook group, is Zipp plus Coffee. Just run Zipp into middle of opponent's crew and those x3 will make them suffer. If you are placing him close enough to include enemy model into the concealment, then they are even troubled to target friendly with supporting action.
